Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Yes. It was just in the morning when the 2 lines were separated. Only one line after around 9am or so

2 lines. One for Pop and one for AOA. We were just there a week ago.

Did you happen to notice if they were pulling from both lines right when they opened or if they just pulled from the Pop side for a bit at opening?

In March when we were there; there was always a pretty decent line on Pops side before the CMs got there to "set up" the AoA line, which drove some ppl. crazy, however they then only pulled from the Pop side at opening for at least the first 15 parties or so.

One morning a family stood in the "nonexistent line" on the Art of Animation side before the CMs showed up but the cms still pulled from the Pop side only for a while which really confused the ppl on the Art of Animation side.

Just curious if they have it anymore planned out/organized than a cpl months ago.

Every 4 minutes they switched lines. It was very fair we thought.

I wonder if length of stay plays into the chances of getting room requests?

Our normal length of stay is 9-11 nights and we rarely get our location request granted but, when we agree to move the following day they can normally honour our location request.

I honestly don't know.

Could be, I'm a numbers geek so I really wish I had the data like number of room requests, popular check-in days etc. LOL I would bet that the majority of the room reservations do not have any type of room request and unless there is an issue with the room itself, that the guests just stay there. Up until Covid we did 2-3 trips a year and at least 1 ( a lot of times 2 ) of those trips is always 9 nights, Friday thru the following Sunday. Like I mentioned before I know a lot of co-workers, friends etc. that do not even know you can make room requests. Something we will probably never know the answer too. LOL

The 90s buildings are very close to the bus stops if you walk along the parking lot edge. It's my favorite section when grabbing an early MK bus.

If you get a chance to walk over to or use the computer pool, please let us know if the background music is playing. I love that section's pool and someone earlier posted that the background music wasn't playing. I'm hopeful it's back up and running.

Just returned recently from my May Disney Trip and although I wasn't able to stay at Pop this time (couldn't get a BB discount ) I had to visit to see the completed food court. Love the food court and can't wait to enjoy it for my stay in October. I did get the chocolate peanut butter milkshake without the Bourbon and it was delicious and alot cheaper too. I highly recommend it without the Bourbon of course.LOL. I also had a question regarding my October trip and as usual the front desk CMs were helpful. And of course had to take a ride on the skyliner too. Looking forward to my Pop stay in October. Just wanted to share my recent visit to my favorite Disney resort. And if you like chocolate and peanut butter try the milkshake minus the alcohol. I think you will enjoy it.

How long is 'very long'? I misread at first and thought you were saying the line to check-in luggage was 1.5 hours!

I'm wondering if the free water park day is causing more people to choose earlier flights and thus, putting extra work on luggage services storing luggage until rooms are ready?

Oh sorry, no, I have no idea how long the line takes and it's the line to check your luggage (is it still just SW?)... that line went all the way down to where you can leave your luggage with bell services. - There was a very short line at the place (across from the pool where you typically drop off and pick up your luggage on arrival and departure day, but the line I believe to check your luggage with the airline (that starts kinda in the front by the lobby) is what was very long each time we walked by.

Also, this may already be known but it looks like they're completely done with bldg 1 and have moved to bldg 2 for renovations (looked like the whole bldg was closed as there seemed to be a sign on each window.)

I was at POp last week and I checked my luggage in for departure at 8:00 am for my SWA flight at the luggage stand in back of building near pool. There was no line at all. I check my luggage on arrival at the luggage stand in front of building next to lobby entrance,
They are still doing the direct delivery to airport for SWA only .

Luggage checked at the front of the resort is for those checking in or departing who are not doing SW delivery to airport luggage check-in.

Luggage checked at the back of the resort is for SW delivery to airport luggage check-in..

I’m not sure about the hours of the back location but if was closed you could still get your ECV with assistance from the the front luggage location.

Thanks!! Other than the storms and the surface of the sun heat, it's been great so far. I haven't gotten over to the computer pool but I've been at the bowling pun pool for 2 afternoons. The music there is either not on or on VERY quietly. I know at Thanksgiving it was playing. Makes me wonder if they only have music at the Hippie Dippie now.

I honestly can’t remember if there was music at the Bowling Pin pool last time we were there. My mom and I went for a swim after a hot park day and I just enjoyed how nice and peaceful was at that pool.
