Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I love the look and layout of the new rooms at Pop. A modern look but still has a fun Disney vibe. I think the murphy bed will make the room seem a little more spacious by freeing up some floor space and I think many guests (including DH and I) would appreciate the queen size bed and coffee maker :) . I wonder if the rates at Pop will go up and be significantly more than the All Stars once all the rooms are done? I would love to get two connecting new rooms on our March trip because the two queen beds and two murphy beds would work well for us; but we know it's unlikely we'll get them and will be happy with whatever connecting rooms we can get. :thumbsup2

Thought I'd give you all a brief account of my Dec. 14-19 stay POP.
I arrived at MCO at 7:30 in the morning. I had asked for an early checkin cause I would be flying all night coming in from Hawaii. I was sure that it wouldn't happen since I would be there so early but POP came through. I had asked for the 50's lake view. I had building 3, 2nd. floor room 31. Front and center lake view and my room was ready when I got there. Turned on my phone when we landed and my text message was waiting.
There was a clock in my room. I know a lot of people was wondering if the clocks were still there.
The two pools were open, the Bowling Pin and the main pool.
The last time I was there, August 2015, I really enjoyed the food. This time not so much. Also, they had raised the prices. I liked the Roast Turkey and the Chicken Nuggets. They didn't have the Roast Chicken with Potatoes and Green beans that I loved the last time, however.
The buses were excellent. I didn't have to wait very long for a bus to any of the parks and to Disney Springs. I really didn't use the bus board just got in line and was able to get a bus within 15 minutes or so.
All in all it was a good stay. I did get a bounce back email on the second to the last day of my stay but I didn't take advantage of it. I am not planning to visit again for a while. The travel there is much too long for this 70 year old lady.

Tried searching in vain. Please can someone tell me where at POP you can refill mugs. Food court only? Any poolside location? Surprised this isn't covered on the first page. Thanks

New rooms look great, hope they don't do white paint though. Makes it look to Dorm room like.
Completely agree with this. The stark white is so very dorm/hospital-like. It would make the rooms very sterile and kind of have a harsh feel. Not that it'll really matter in the grand scheme for me since we are hardcore go go go tourists and usually fall asleep before our heads hit the pillow but a warmer paint color would be much better imo

I would kind of like an accent wall color, either the wall behind the beds or the wall behind the tv. The white walls open up the space, but do make it a little sterile. A wall of color (maybe a different color for each decade) could brighten it up without closing it in.

Thanks for your review. I admit to being a bit worried, I have a 10 day stay coming up next year, and never stayed at a value (aside for a 1 night stay because if late arrival). I know I'll miss having a hot tub in Dec.

I've had a week long solo stay and a week long stay with a friend. I've stayed at Pop for five week long stays with my husband and have another visit coming up next month. Yes, we like the place! I know I'd like a hot tub, but all else is good. We stayed four nights at Wilderness Lodge. We considered staying at a moderate, but between values and deluxe, the moderates were neither here nor there. in our mind, they didn't offer enough extra amenities for the price over a value resort.

Aren't those rooms the best!:)

I was in 3434 last trip-so awesome to see Hourgalss Lake and fireworks from the room!

And so convenient to Classic Hall-down the elevator-walk by The Tramp and just a minute or 2 from there!:)

We stayed at POP from 12/10-12/18 and I thought it was great. We've never stayed on property before so we have nothing to compare it to. The rooms were quiet and clean. We were gone in the parks all day so only in the room to sleep. I would recommend POP for anyone wanting to stay in a Value. I would stay there again.

My guess is that these photos were somehow released, but likely the room with have decor added after they settle on a design of the furniture?

Could be.

And also we don't know for sure if the Coffeemaker isn't just a "prop" or if it will definitely be a part of the Refurb.:)

What is the cost of the soda in the machines in the buildings by the ice machines. What size are the bottles? Do the machines take coin and paper money or just debit and credit cards?

Is Pop offering coffee makers now? Everything I've read says no and after 5 stays in the last couple years I've never seen one. But someone on another site is insisting she had a pod coffee maker in the room stocked with coffee and tea just this past year. No idea why they would have them in just some rooms but figured this is the place to ask.

The pictures posted a couple pages back of a mock up of the new Pop rooms show a Coffee Maker. Not sure if that is going to be in all of the rooms after the refurb, but maybe the person you mentioned stayed in one of the mock up rooms.

Maybe it was left by a previous guest. Or has she stayed at another resort and is mixing up the two stays in her memory?

I suggested it was left by a guest but she insisted it was stocked by the resort and that twice she has stayed there and both times they had a coffee maker with teas and coffee pods. I'm assuming she's mistaken because at least a dozen other people responded and said the opposite. Just wondered if this was something they started since we were last there. Not that a coffee maker is a dealbreaker for me, lol.
