They don't have coffee pots in the rooms.

I bring my own Black & Decker travel one with good coffee, and disposable cups & lids.

I'm wondering if the room ammenities listed on page 1 are up to date. I ask because it states that the radio alarm clocks have port for electronics. I read that , sadly, there are no more radio alarm clocks.
also, the first page states you can bring your own coffee pot. I read somewhere that pop now has coffee pots in the room.

anyoneknow? thanks!
The coffee maker was in the shots of the sample room renovations, but no one is sure if, when or how many rooms will be renovated, and if there will be a coffee maker.

Like alarm clocks are requestable now, would they bring a coffee pot if you asked for one?

No they won't bring a coffee pot. I always pack my mini one with my own coffee and filters and creamer. Tastes so much better anyway. Takes very little space in suitcase.

When you call and request a clock, or more towels, or an extra pillow do you tip the person who brings it to you?

I can do online check-in Friday. There are 3 rooms and when I booked them I requested 2 be connecting rooms and the 3rd be close by. Also, I'd also really like to be in 70's section (lakeview, if possible). I realize that's a lot of requests so I'm wondering how to go about doing this. Should I call and make a note to my reservation? If I had to prioritize it would be 1) rooms close together 2) 70's 3) lakeview

Thank you for replying. I thought I should, but I feel so awkward and inexperienced about tipping that I never call and request anything. Do you mind telling me how much you would tip for this?

It's really up to you. If it's just a couple things, a couple dollars is fine. I think anything is appreciated.

When they deliver a big Garden Grocer order (like if I'm in a villa) I usually give them $5 or so.

Update on refurbishments now posted:

From late October 2016 to late December 2016, the Computer Pool at Disney's Pop Century Resort will be closed for refurbishment. The Hippy Dippy Pool will remain available for your enjoyment.

In addition, starting October 2016, some areas of Disney's Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment to refresh our offerings and atmosphere. We may not be able to accommodate requests for rooms in specific buildings. It is possible that you may see and hear construction. To minimize any disruptions, we will attempt to limit work to 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

So I just received this email regarding my stay in October...

We are delighted you have chosen to stay with us at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

In an effort to continually enhance the Guest experience here at the Walt Disney World® Resort, we often refresh our offerings and atmosphere. In preparation of your upcoming stay, we wanted to make you aware of a Resort refurbishment taking place during your visit.

Though some disruption may be unavoidable, depending on your location, we are making an effort to minimize the impact on your experience. As a result, we will attempt to limit any work most likely to cause a noise impact to the hours of 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Please know that we are working to ensure that your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable. If you need assistance with your reservation, please contact your original booking agent as listed on your confirmation letter.

Thanks for sharing that information! Sounds like they are going ahead with the room renovations!

I wonder if they'll have any newly renovated rooms by March. Planning our spring break!

I called and the rep I spoke to wasn't aware of the refurbishments. She put me on hold, saying she was calling the resort for info (whether it was the resort or someone else, I have no clue). She came back, saying that the reno was just announced today, and basically said what we already know, they are doing a complete refurb of the resort, starting w/the rooms. When I expressed concern about the noise/disruption, she said they would not put people in a building that currently was under construction, but I'm not sure if I believe that or not.

I don't know if we should switch or not and my trip starts just 3 days after construction begins (she said it was to begin on 10/15). Especially since we reserved a preferred room, and they are outright saying they can't guarantee any type of building requests, it seems like a crapshoot.

Unfortunately, the other resort I'd really like to stay at, POFQ, is also under refurbishment! IDK, maybe ASMovies? Ugh!!!

I received that mail, too. Any chance I can ask for an upgrade and switch to another resort for free? Very annoying...they didn't warn during the booking process.

So all this does not start till 10/15/16? Was hoping to just miss the start of this as we leave Pop Oct 7.

Edit: I have not received an email.
