Are there hair dryers in the room? Thanks :)

Yes, there are hair dryers in the rooms. Not the best power, but they have them. I found this picture of what they look like on the web.

The hair dryers have changed. They no longer hang on the wall. It'll be located in a bag in the closet. It's still not the best hairdryer but it is a similar to one that I use at home.

hmmmmmm, that must be a new change. They were like that in September, or at least that is what I thought I remembered. :rotfl:
Oh well, as long as they are still there.

Does anyone have a picture of the new hair dryers? I don't use anything fancy at home but wondering if it is comparable. Thanks!

I found this video from April. The bathroom shows no wall mounted hair dryer and a black bag hanging in the closet that says hair dryer on it but it doesnt show the hair dryer itself:

and then this one from January that shows the wall mounted hair dryer at the :23 second point.

So either some rooms have the bag hair dryers and others have the wall mount or the wall mounted have just recently been removed and replaced.

I found this picture on the internet of the hair dryers that hang in the bags in the closet from Coronado Springs so maybe they are simular.

Those new hair dryers look a little more heavy duty than the wall mounted ones! I use a high power hair dryer at home because i have SO MUCH HAIR lol i made the mistake of not bringing one on our honeymoon trip on 2013 and it literally took me an hour to dry my hair with the wall mounted ones. Hopefully these new ones work out better, but if you have alot of hair I'd recommend bringing one from home.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post! That hair dryer looks good enough for me. Also, those chics in the second video are hilarious! I watched the whole darn thing :)

I apologize if this has already been talked about but are the thermostats at POP motion controlled? We like a very cool room at night for sleeping. This has never been a problem for us at our usual resorts, CBR and POR, because they have the older style units. Thanks.

When we were there in December, it's still older style thermostat. We were able to set it and it stayed that temperature all day. Unless they have been retrofitting the rooms one by one, you should be good to go.

Thanks all for the wonderful information. I am looking forward to our first POP experience next summer.

WWYD, landscape view and 80s or landscape view and 70s? My DH wants to look at trees. I don't want parking lot view. Which choice would yield the best result? Or should I just list landscape view? We will be arriving after 9pm and have a RO the night before FD. I have a standard booked for both reservations. They are linked, so I hope we don't have to change rooms.

Touring Plans website has a great feature where you can see all of the room views in any given Disney resort room. I can never get the link thingie to work so google "touring plans", in the top banner click on "more" and then click "resorts and hotels." This should get you to the feature. You could check out a number of the views from rooms in the 80s section and contrast/compare with those from the 70s section. Just be cautious of trying to specify room numbers on your online check-in because it really limits the front desk in finding a room for you. Your specific room numbers may already be occupied.

I used the Touring plan room view and was able to have touring plans fax a room request in for me. I got the exact room I requested (they request the room or one like it)! 6458 (70s building 6 - faced the lake)

Does anyone know if the mini-fridges in the room will hold a gallon of milk? We are ordering a few groceries from Garden Grocer and thought I should ask before I order. Thanks!

I don't think so. Unless you could cram it into the mini fridge on its side. They sell the smaller plastic jugs in the cafeteria and that's what fit for me. Think it is a half gallon? Perhaps someone could correct me if I'm wrong. In my neck of the woods, we buy our milk in bags (litre) not gallon jugs so I'm not sure of the exact imperial sz.

Do you have to subscribe to touring plans to use the fax service? Where do I find out the information on this service?

Yes, it's a half gallon and it does fit in the fridge. I also don't think you could put a whole gallon in there...
