Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

If we do online check in, and we have carry on bags that we had on our flight, do we take Magic Express to POP, and then what do we do with our carry ons? Will they hold them someplace so we can go to DTD? If we need to go to POP, and talk to someone about holding the carry ons, does it even make sense to use the ME service where they get your suitcases? I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to go to POP and right to DTD.

I would let ME take your checked luggage, this saves the time/hassle of waiting for your bags and then taking them on the the bus.

When you get to Pop, luggage services is right where ME drops you off. Leaving your carry ons there is easy and doesn't take a lot of time. Once done you can just walk down to the DTD bus (which should be the last stop in the line, if I remember correctly).

Thanks! I have been trying to convince my party to let Disney take our luggage to save some time. If they take our luggage and we have done on-line check in, we can just drop our carry ons with luggage services and go right to DTD?

However, after traveling and being on the plane, I think my family would like to check in, drop some things in our room and get a chance to see where our room really is (instead of coming back in the dark after DTD!), smile that we are there, and then proceed with our DTD evening. What if we let Disney take our luggage and do the online check in, but when we get there, we'd like to still go to our rooms to see them, and also make some adjustments to the credit cards that our bands are linked to? Can we just go to the front desk to do that little piece, go to our room to see it, and then back to the DTD buses? Is that a waste of time? Maybe it is, but it might just work better for us. If we do that, shouldn't we just get our luggage at the airport and bring it with us so it is for sure in our room?

Also, we have the dining plan. Do we have to do "something" on check in or at the front desk to be sure that is active or lined to our bands? Because we want to use our credits right away in DTD that evening.

If you do online check-in you can still take ME to the hotel, leave your baggage with bell services or in your room depending on which check in you use, and then go to DTD. Any baggage transported through Magical Express will be delivered to your hotel room at some point later in the day... I do suggest packing whatever would be an immediate need in a carry on bag - medicine, power cords, change of clothing etc.

They have a new check in that you can use... if you ship your magic bands to your home, store a credit card, and complete online check in and i think add your cell phone/email address... they will have your room ready for you and email/text your room numbers so you can drop your baggage there instead of with bell services.

Great thanks! Just trying to get an idea of options so I can share with the family and decide what to do. Don't want to waste time - we just want to get there and start playing!
But, for my group, I'm pretty sure we'll want to get to our room first, be sure MB's open the door, get our bearings, etc. That way we'll know where to go when we get back later from DTD. Also, might be good to stop at front desk to be sure Dining Plan is organized and change the credit card for my MIL's band/room. Again, do it early so we don't need to worry about that when we get back! Thanks! Starting to be real now!!

Just booked two nights at Pop before our split between WL, the beach (the actual beach, not the resort!) and CR. Of the values, we've stayed at Sports, Music and AOA, but hearing all these great things about Pop, wanted to give it a try. We're arriving late and our oldest will want to sleep in a bit the first morning. Our youngest, however, will want to swim. Does anyone know approximate pool hours in late March?

WWOOOOHHOOOOO! Just paid the balance on my first solo vacation and first time @pop. I can:t wait = only 89 days to go!!!!!!!

POP is always our go to resort, love it. I feel its also good for a solo trip. I just went on my first solo trip at the end of January and stayed at POP. Hope you enjoy!!

You would take DME to POP unless you rent a car. You can check in and if your room is ready you can drop your carry on off in the room and then go to DTD, your luggage will be delivered to your room within 3 hrs. If you are arriving before check in, 3pm, and your room is not ready they will hold your bags for you. If you are arriving after 10pm, which by the sounds of it you are not, you would have to pick up your own luggage anyways. Online check in really has no baring on DME.

I would like to be near(ish) the bridge over to AoA since I plan on using their food court more than the one at Pop. I have a standard room booked. Looking at a map it appears that buildings 3 (50s) and 6 (70s) would work for me. Does this sound right to y'all?

The lake-view rooms/sides of buildings 4 & 5 of the 60's section would also work and are closer to the bridge.

Are they considered standard rooms? For some reason I thought all of the 60s was preferred.

Thanks for the reply!

I think the back sides of those buildings are standard rooms.

As far as I know, the rooms on the back sides of those buildings are standard rooms. There is a map on the first page of this thread that shows the location of the preferred rooms.

Get on Magical express let them get your bags for you, keep your carry on and go to POP from there. After you check in even if your room isn't ready, you can leave you carry on's with the staff at POP. On my final day, I went to the park and left my carry on's at the airline check in area. They gave me a card/receipt and I was ready to go. They held it for me as I spent about 6 hours or so at MK. No problem at all. Also on my arrival day I was there about 1030 and my room was ready. When I came back around 5 late that day my bags were in the room ready for me. Hope this clears things up for you. Your going to have an amazing time staying there.

thanks for these tips. We will be to POP between 3 and 4 pm so I'm sure the room will be ready. That would be great to drop things and go!

:rainbow:Last Friday at Work!!! I do need to go to work on Monday - I have totally no idea how I am going to get anything done.
Crazy weather looks like some rain. I have my ponchos and umbrella and we'll figure it out! It will still be about 80-100 degrees warmer than we have at home in Michigan right now!!!!

I'm in Ohio and leave Monday. I feel exactly the same way you do about the weather.

I've stayed at Pop several times. It is by far my favorite value resort. I leave Monday for my first solo trip. Slightly nervous to go on my own!

I just got back from my first solo trip and I stayed at Pops too. I did 10 days overall and ended up spending two days over at universal. I loved the Pops resort. Found the staff to be really nice and hard working. Everything Pop is also an amazing counter service option. It was my first time staying there and truly expect to be back there again. As far as the solo part of your time, I would say be as sociable as you can be. That helps and just relax and have fun. Remember everything you do will be on your own time, so have fun.

We have a party of 7 going in April so, we technically have 2 reservations. My wife and I and 2 of our kids on one, the grandparents and our third kid on the other. Both reservations are linked in my MDE since my parents don't have or want MDE accounts. Will all of our MB open both rooms or just the ones listed under each room?

Along the same line, we also have the QS DP, will the entire groups credits be lumped together or again broken down based on the reservation?

We requested connecting rooms, does using online check-in increase, decrease or not effect the chances of getting connecting rooms?
