We haven’t tried them yet but i have seen some good reviews for the coconut meatballs at Captain Cook’s too.
I promise, they will not disappoint.

We just bought some DVC resale. We weren’t supposed to have any 2020Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, guys, but try to keep your expectations low as they start back up again. We've been here since mid-week and the food situation on property is very mediocre. It's as if some of the cast members haven't worked here before. It's very slow at Kona and the food isn't great. They currently aren't receiving shipments and deliveries per usual (i.e., they ran out of potstickers at Kona, milk has been non-existent at Cooks in the mornings, etc). Things like that. It's confusing in quick service with the mug refills and mobile pickups, which direction you can go and when. This is just with a handful of families. We shudder to think what it will be like with more. So while the food is great usually, there's a pretty good chance it will not meet your expectations until they get back into a solid routine again.
I don’t think anyone knows yet, unfortunately. Can you tell me if the boat to GF and MK from Poly will be running in August?
I'm wondering if the boat/walkways would be blocked by the fencing they put in for the NBA at the GF?Is the walkway from Poly to GF open now?
Sorry, yes, I misreadIs the walkway from Poly to GF open now?
Yes, that area will be blocked to guests - but I don’t think anyone expects that the walkway would be done before NBA vacates. The NBA teams should be gone by late September and the walkway still needs a bridge added near the GF. I misread this question the same wayNo, it is not open yet. It still had a second smaller bridge and much of the actual path to go, plus the substantial work where the path meets up with that side boat dock security station in front of the MK (which was still very much a construction site last aerials I saw).
I misread this question the same way
The walkway between Poly & GF is open but you cannot walk from the Poly to the MK using that path yet
That makes me one too. I’ll call us both wishful thinkers insteadOh gosh, duh, I’m an idiot. Carry on, nothing to see here.![]()

With the Poly, it's on the monorail line so you'll be able to take that to Epcot as well. I've never stayed, but I am for the first time in August (!!) and someone told me it's sometimes easier and nicer to just walk to TTC from Poly and then get on a monorail there to Epcot (since you'd have to transfer anyway). So you have great transportation to two parks!! I'm sure the other transportation to the other parks isn't bad there, either.Hello! I'm planning a trip for May 2021. I am hoping to rent DVC points. At first I was looking at Bay Lake Tower and Beach Club. But now I'm starting to consider Poly or Beach Club. My question is about transportation. Getting to MK will obviously be easy but what has your experience been getting to the other three from the Poly? Would be spending one day in each. Might do a quick trip to MK or Epcot the first night (depending on where we stay). Will have our own car but would like to use that as less as possible. Any insight would be so helpful!

The DVC buildings at the Polynesian are also the closest and most convenient to walk to the TTC. One time we had a room at the far end of Moorea and it was sooooo convenient to get to Epcot!Hello! One of my loves of Poly is easy transportation to MK and walking to the TTC for the Epcot monorail. Worth the price every-single-time.
For DHS and DAK, Poly will usually share a bus with GF - it’ll pick up at Poly first, then GF, then off to the park. Poly is the first stop on the way back. Although at times if the bus if already full when leaving Poly, it’ll just go straight to the destination park.
You can have a bad bus experience at any Disney resort on any given day, but I’ve never had consistently bad experiences with DHS and DAK buses when staying at Poly. They are usually fine/uneventful.
If you have the time, can hop (under normal times), and don’t mind the walk, you can even make your way to DHS via taking the Epcot monorail to Epcot, walking through and out the Int’l Gateway, then Skyliner to DHS. That’s a really inefficient way to get to DHS, but I’d be lying if I said we haven’t done it a few times. Good way to get some steps in and have an excuse for a quick drink in Epcot.![]()
Perfect arrival day for me is unpacking, getting settled into the room, maybe a swim if it’s early enough, getting squeaky clean and donning my plastic itchy lei and feasting at Kona or ‘Ohana, strolling along the beach (perhaps catching MK fireworks?Even if park hopping will be back by then, I think I'll still just get the standard ticket. The resort is closer to the TTC than I thought, so that does make me feel better. For some reason I thought the Poly was further away than it really is, but it's been a while since I've been. And the busses don't bother me.
The boardwalk area looks awesome too but I really would love to be on the monorail. And since we're visiting each park an equal amount, I don't think staying in one area is that huge of a difference to the other. It might cost more but it sounds like it would be worth it. Now the next question is do I spend the first night in a park or at the resort. (Assuming things are normal in May '21, or at least close to it)
