Disney's policy on dressing like a princess?

You made me remember we talked to Disney about this as well. We were married (in Indiana) almost 9 years ago. I was wanting to book the Disney Honeymoon Photo's in the park package. They were VERY adamant about that fact that I could not wear my wedding dress or any other white dress that might be considered a gown. LOL I didn't have any plans on dragging that heavy gown on my honeymoon anyway, but I didn't understand why this was an issue for them.

I was just married in WDW this past September. Now Disney policy is that you can't have any pictures taken in wedding attire at the MK, unless you are married on Disney Propery. We had a Magic Kingdom Photo Session. And It started at 5:30 AM! I would have been really uncomforatble being in the park with so many people staring at me> I totally agree with this. When I was coming back to our hotel after our ceremony several little girls in the CR lobby came running up asking if I was a princess. Can you imagine if I had been in a park during regular hours. I would have been mobbed my hids!:rotfl: Still it was really cute for them to ask!

Some little girls were wondering if my wife was a Princess:love: Me, they had no comments...:sad1:

Reminds me of a card my wife and I received on our wedding day. I don't remeber the exact wording, but the front of the card said something to the effect of how radiant and beautiful the bride would be and "as for the groom.." Then the inside of the card said "Nobody cares about rental boy." :)

You are my hero. :)

Although some/many 10 year olds might not look like adults, many of them are developing, if you're tall (like my half sister) you look older, etc etc. There are some "children" that look like adults out there!

Therefore, I would bet that somewhere in their guidebook for who not to allow, there's an easy out for a minor who is adult in appearance, so they can just say that their guideline is if you're on an Adult ticket, you have to abide by Adult rules.
in any where in this world who could be mistaken as an adult. Yes, there are a few 10 year olds beginning to develop and some that may be tall, but appearing as an adult is a bit of a stretch. I'd like to see a 10 year old who passed in any situation for an adult. heck, my 9 yr old (10 this Nov) weighs 49 pounds. He isn't even tall enough to go on some of the rides. My 10 yr old (11 in July) grew quite a bit this past year. She may look a bit older than 10but I assure you she couldn't ever walk into a bar and order a drink or go vote or even be mistaken for someone old enough to drive!

Think it would be funny to see a guy dressed in a princess costume at Disney World just to see the reaction from people

Actually, during the PPP last August we saw a group of young men all dressed up as princesses. It was hilarious. All the CMs wanted to have their picture taken with them.

i'm not sure where this 10 year old rule came into play. actually, i believe, semi-officially speaking, it's 12 & under.

i can see confusion with the ticket system and all, but it's not so much the case here.

you'll have no problem with a 10 year old in a princess outfit. i was with a tall 11 year old once in fact and she wasn't given a 2nd glance.

the only rule is adults cannot. where this sometimes causes confusion is because you can argue a 16 year old is not really an adult, but it should be quite evident that under normal conditions, a 16 year old will not be able to enter the park dressed as a character.

they simply don't want confusion. it's that simple. that's the rule.

and it's not necessarily just disney characters. back in the day, disneyland had a problem with a lincoln impersonator of all things. and recently WDW had a publicized issue when it ejected 'santa' from the parks.
