I think my DD4 and DS6 might enjoy this together. Do the parents go with them, or is it just for the kids? Disney's website decribes the children's lunch menu with no mention of the adults- so I'm assuming it's just for kids. If yes- what did you do while you waited? We will have our 24 month old with us.

Also- how much is it? And did your kids like it? Should I bring his pirate costume/hat from home?

I have so many things I want to do with DD4, and not enough for DS6. Even though I thought the Disney's Pirate Adventure would be more for DS- I think he'd have more fun doing it with his sister (especially if we are not there) If anyone has other "special" daddy / son things to recommend- I'd love to hear it!

My boys went when they were 6 and just barely 4, and they loved it! It was the last thing we did before we came home, and they talked about it most of the (15-hour) drive. The parents do not go on the boat, only the kids.

When you get there, you check in, and then get the lifevests. When we went, the parents fitted the vests and put them on the kids. They handed out the pirate bandanas after that. They met the "captain" (ours had Captain Ron and DH got a kick out of that) and crew, went over the rules, got their buddy and they were off. We were able to hop the monorail over to the MK for one last stroll around Main Street, but the monorail had issues, so we didn't get to stay long.

We've done it years ago. We've done the one out of the Y&BC as well. Its fun - particularly for the younger kids (they outgrow it pretty fast). We had breakfast over at Kona while the kids are gone.

Another father/son activity is to go to Port Orleans Riverside and cane fish off the dock.

Thanks for the replies.

We are staying at either BLT or Poly- so I think DH and I will take the baby and go for a slightly less chaotic brunch off the monorail somewhere.

Anyone else?

My girls 7 and 4 did it in September 09. They loved it. DH and I went to The Wave for a nice quiet breakfast. We had plenty of time to get there, eat, and get back. My girls have said they would want to do it again next time.
