That sounds like fun - but $45? That's about the cost to go to the MNSSHP, or the Princess Pirate Parties - but with how many marathon weekend participants - that will definately be purchasing food and beverages -

interesting concept...

I sure miss the $10 enight price tag of was it 2004?

Now where's my lottery ticket? the winning one! I'll need to win the lottery!!

Sounds fun but I wonder how many tickets will they sell?

You know, it really would have been nice to know about these things a little earlier. Many people have already made plans and booked flights. Grrrrr. :headache:

I think they are getting a bit too greedy with the additional charges. I get the charge for the pasta party but I feel that post race celebration should be free with your race number or finisher's medal. Elite Racing doesn't charge for their post run concerts and parties if you have your race number.

I'm not surprised by it but think it is a bit much in my opinion. I think it should be free for runners and only charge the family that wants to come along.

I agree with you Frank.
I will not be going, we went to the one after the first TOT and said never again, we thought it was a complete waste of money.

I agree, 8pm - midnight for $45. Not really worth it if you ask me. I did the TOT and it was OK, but again a bit short. I did get to ride everything I wanted. But, the crowds were much smaller than the marathon will be.

I'm not cheap, I just want value for what I spend :)
enjoy,
Duane

I think it depends on how often you go to the parks, for us it would have to be something special like P&P or MNSHP to get us to pay the extra.....but we go all the time, so being able to get on the rides is not important to us.

I agree. I was an AP holder for a while and when I go down for the marathon I usually go solo and get time to do everything I want. It is a nice touch and if you decide to not do a park that day and just do the party it may make sense, but it doesn't for me.

I would even go as far as saying I would rather a free party outside of the parks than a pay-for inside of them. They have that Millenium Village building in world showcase. My suggestion to Disney sports would be to allow free entrance to the Village with your race number and something like $10 for family members. Have some additional finisher material for purchase so that people who did finish can get some gear and have some desserts that are free to the runners and included in the entrance for family. There can be an open bar or wine bar also. I would also coordinate it so that Epcot had evening extra magic hours that night only for those with race numbers. Bracelets can be given out to them and the family members at the village. I could see limiting the non runners to two or four per runner.

Just my two cents.

It seems overly pricey for what you get. With only four rides open (and DHS is show-heavy, ride-light, so without the shows, there isn't as much to do), and having to pay not only for entrance, but also for food and drinks, there doesn't seem to be much value in it.

Frank - whenI saw the add, I had a very similar thought to what you just posted - place it inside Epcot, free admission for the runner, charge a low admission for friends & family (maybe an additional 3-4 discounted admissions per runner, so keep crowds lower), etc.
