Rumors say Disney is bidding on Sea World. What are your opinions if Disney does and is successful of acquiring Sea World?

Honestly, I think it is just rumor and highly doubt that it will happen.

That would be great. Then they would own Sea World in San Antonio, Texas! Then Disney would only be 189 miles from home instead 889 miles. :goodvibes

InBev ios definitley considering putting Busch Entertainment up for bids - whether Disney bids is another question - it probably won't be sold piece meal. Best bet is a foreign company.

I highly doubt it will happen and I hope it doesn't. I like how Sea World is now. If Disney buys it, they will probably re-theme it. I wouldn't like that. Busch Gardens also went up on the market along with Sea World. I don't think Disney needs five more parks and another water park. I just think those two parks should be left alone.

I think they would buy it, then sell property to be used for something other than amusement.

Yup, just think about how they could pave it over, build retail shops and restaurants, charge rent and be happy, afterall it is what all the guests are asking for more retail and dining!

Disney is not going to do this. First, it's a bad time to invest money in another theme park in this economic slump, and Sea World is just too similar to the Animal Kingdom. Maybe Disney should have a ocean themed land in AK instead of buying Sea World.

I disagree, Busch Gardens is very similar to AK (and it's, of course, a Busch park), and I don't see how Sea World can be compared. Disney already has the world's 2nd largest aquarium at Epcot.

Which by the way looked awful when we were there last December! All the fish had sores (look the same in 2006 too). I think the lighting is all wrong too. I only saw Living seas for the first time 3 years ago. has it always looked that bad? It just doesnt compare to places liek the National aquarium in Baltimore or the aquarium in Boston.

Not when it was relatively new, but as time passed more modern 'aquariums' were later built elsewhere and made The Living Seas look even worse. When you ignore an attraction for fifteen or so years and do little or nothing to update it - like the rest of Future World - don't be surprised when it starts to look worn and out of date.

I totally agree about the aquarium in Baltimore! That is, hands down, the greatest water-based anything I've ever seen outside of visiting the actual Coral Reef of Australia.

Both are very similar. But I don't see Disney basing another whole park on animals. Disney would become more and more of a zoo.

no seaworld is a huge waste.

From a business point this makes no sense ... it will put more people away from the Disney World Property ... their money would be better placed in the parks
