Disney Military Sales sent me a press release last night (10/23/2010) with the following information:

“At Walt Disney World Resort – now through Sept. 28, 2011 active and retired U.S. military personnel (including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists) or their spouses can purchase:

Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper Option for $138 each, plus tax
Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Water Parks Fun and More Option for $138 each, plus tax AND
Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper and Water Parks Fun and More Options for $165 each, plus tax”
The release continues with this scope and eligibility info:

“Disney Military Promotional Tickets can be purchased by active and retired U.S. military personnel for themselves and up to five additional family members or friends.
No more than six Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any eligible member of the U.S. military (or spouse) pursuant to this offer.
All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be used by Oct. 1, 2011 (certain block out dates apply).”
And it contains this how-to and contact advice:

“For information regarding Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets for admission to the Walt Disney World Resort, or to make room reservations at the Walt Disney World Resort, military personnel may call 407/939-7830 or participating U.S. military base ticket offices.

Information is also available at www.disneyworld.com/military.”

Note that as I write this the hotel deal is up on the link, but the ticket deal still refers to the past one. No doubt this will be updated shortly.

THIS IS NOT A RUMOR! I just spoke with the ticket office at Shades, they are selling them now. Today. Now.

Thanks Disney!

1. It is official, I've seen the press release and email from Disney Military Sales.

2. The information came from Disney.

3. disneyworld.com/military and disneymilitarysales.com are not sites to check for breaking news. For each of the last two offers these sites have been updated up to a month or more after the offer has started.

4. NO RUMOR!!

Thanks to crostorfer and Steve TLT for confirming that this is not a rumor:thumbsup2

I just received this from MouseMisers:

2011 Armed Forces Salute Military Tickets
Posted: 24 Oct 2010 11:28 AM PDT

Travel Dates: October 24, 2010 – October 1, 2011

Walt Disney World has just announced that Active and Retired U.S. Military, including members of the U.S. Coast Guard and active members of the National Guard or Reservists, may purchase 4-Day Walt Disney World Armed Forces Salute Tickets for themselves and up to five (5) family members and/or friends from $138 each. That is a maximum total of 6 tickets that can be purchased by each military member.

There are three different ticket options available for those wanting to visit Walt Disney World:

Walt Disney World 4 Day Military Salute Tickets with Park Hopper Option – $138 each

Walt Disney World 4 Day Military Salute Tickets with Water Park Fun and More Option – $138 each

Walt Disney World 4-Day Military Salute Tickets with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More Options – $165 each

Please note these ticket prices do not include tax. If purchased on base or at Shades of Green, no sales tax will be charged, but tickets purchased at WDW ticket windows will incur sales tax.

The Park Hopping ticket is valid for four days of admission into the four Walt Disney World theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom Park). The Water Park and More option gives guests a total of four visits to a choice of a Disney water park, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park or certain other attractions.

During this offer period, active or retired U.S. military personnel may make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of six 4-Day tickets (one theme park per day) for family members (including spouse) or friends. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be activated and purchased by September 28, 2011. Black out dates exist for these tickets. They may not be used at all between December 17 – 31, 2010, April 17 – 23, 2011 at all Disney World theme parks, and July 4, 2011 at Magic Kingdom only.

Vouchers are available for purchase at Shades of Green and on military bases beginning October 24, 2010, tax free. You must then take the voucher to a WDW ticket window and exchange for a ticket. Tickets are also available for purchase at Disney World ticket windows, but this purchase will be taxed.

Active or Retired Military must show a valid United States Military ID card. Activated members of the National Guard or Reservists must present their orders in addition to a Military ID card. Please contact Shades of Green if you have any questions concerning eligibility.

In addition to the available Walt Disney World tickets, Disneyland will be offering $99 tickets good for 3 days at the two Disneyland theme parks. The same restrictions apply.

Information on Eligibility and Park Passes

These tickets are for active and retired United States Military, including Coast Guard and active members of the Reserves or National Guard, and permanently disabled veterans with a valid military ID card.

If the service member is not present to purchase vouchers/tickets, the spouse or unremarried widow may purchase up to five tickets during the validity period. Military ID required.

The park passes may be upgraded to Seasonal Passes for Florida residents or Annual Passes, with credit toward the upgrade based on the actual price paid.

The No Expiration option cannot be added to these tickets. No other upgrades, such as adding additional days, will be available.

Tickets must be used by the same person on any and all days. They are not transferable.

This offer may not be combined with any other offer.

(OP's assumption: "Any other offer" refers only to any other ticket offer.)

Do all tickets need to be activated at the same time? Say a family is going for 4 days one month and then 4 days a couple months later. Can they get 6-4 base tickets and activate 3 one month and then the last three the next time? Sorry if this is a stupid question....

That's not a stupid question at all and I believe the answer is no, you don't have to activate all your tix at the same time.

I once had a question similar to yours. With the '09/'10 offer, I was told that I could purchase 6 tix for 3 people and activate 3 tix for the first 4 days and then activate 3 more tix for the next 4 days, (I wanted 8 days of tix). I didn't end-up purchasing them though because DH got deployed so DD and I instead bought APs.

Also, at least with the '09/'10 offer you had to purchase all the tix at once. You couldn't purchase say, 3 one time and 3 another time. So make certain you purchase all 6 tix at the same time and then just activate them at guest services when you want to start using them:).

Anyone know if you are able to break up the 4 days over the course of the year?

Considering doing 1 day before a cruise in January, but wouldn't reuse the remaining 3 days until August. The base doesn't know. Called Disney and the cast member and a lead both didn't know. Have left a message with SOG.
The guidelines for the offer does not state this, but I fear they will be use within 14 days and then we'll be out of luck if we go for one day in Jan.

Thanks!

SOG will confirm this for you, however, I believe that once activated, the tix are only valid for consecutive days after activation and unused days cannot be banked for reuse later, but I can't find anything in print to substantiate this. Please let us know when you get a definitive answer from SOG - thanks!

There are also 3-day tix available for $99 which you could use in August.

I thought the 3-day was only for DL????
Thanks, I will let you know what I've found out. I've also posted this question on the Disney Parks blog where it was posted.

You are correct! The 3-day tix are only for DL not WDW.

I saw the upcoming cruise in your post so I shouldn't have even tempted you with 3-day tix to DL:laughing:, but then your sig. says "Hoping for DL ..." and I wasn't sure.

AH thanks!!
Yeah, we're hoping to get to California in 2012 and spend a few days at DL once both the Little Mermaid ride and Cars Land are open.

I called the other day to find out more information for my sister about these tickets (she is overseas right now.)
While I was on the phone I also asked about MVMCP tickets and yes they had discounted tickets for certian nights (37 bucks) but you have to buy them at the park or resort the day of and only certian nights were covered ... The night we are wanting to go (Nov. 18th) is covered but I am worried about it selling out and then we will not be able to get tickets. Does anyone know if I buy the tickets now could be get a refund or even a credit for the difference between a ticket I bought as a passholder and the military discount my sister would then get the day of the party?

I have no experience with those particular tix, however, I believe that most WDW tix state on them that there are no refunds or exchanges. Here is something I found on a closed thread, but it's up-to-date:

Special Events
There are currently five different special events at the parks, all of which require special tickets. These fall into three categories. These are referred to as "hard ticket events" and regular MYW tickets up to and including Premium Annual Passes are not valid for these events. All of these tickets are date specific, and can only be used on the specified date.

The first category is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). These generally run from 7:00pm until Midnight on selected nights in one of the Parks. Tickets become available several months in advance.

Tickets may be purchased at any location on WDW that sells tickets or via on-line, mail or telephone.

For most included nights there are two tiers of pricing, one is for tickets purchased the day of the event and the other is for discounted tickets available for most days. When advance sale tickets are offered, they must be purchased no later than Midnight of the day prior to the event. For some of the dates there are special deeper discounts available to people who are AP holders or DVC Members. The AP or DVC Membership Card must be shown both when the tickets are purchased and when entering the park.

The tickets for this category will allow Guests into the Park as early as 4:00pm on the day of the event. Special wristbands will be attached to each person to allow them to remain in the park. There may be locations within the Park set up with ticket scanners to read and record any tickets so people who had entered the park earlier with a regular ticket may receive a wristband to allow them to remain in the park.

Once 7:00 comes all people without wristbands will be asked to leave. There will be CMs at the entrance to each store, eatery and attraction to prevent anyone without a wristband from entering. There will also be checkpoints at various locations, asking people to leave the park and not allowing them further progress.

The second category is Night of Joy (NoJ), which is normally two nights in early September, and Grad Night (GN), which is several nights in late Spring. The Grad Nights tickets cannot be purchased on property, but are handled through schools.

Unlike MNSSHP and MVMCP, for these two events the park is actually cleared of all Guests prior to allowing in the NoJ or GN participants.

The third category is when a park (and it can be any one, not just MK) is sold for the evening/night to an outside group or promoter. In these situations WDW will provide staffing in the park so attractions can operate and retail and food outlets are open, but the promoter will handle all ticket sales and be responsible for controlling access. Again, all Guests will be cleared from the park prior to opening the gates for the special event.

Can you order the AP tix by mail? I don't suppose you could order the Military tix that way through SOG?

I completely understand wanting to purchase them now. What is the price difference between the Military and PH rate? It must be fairly negligible? If it's not much, just go ahead and get the AP tix. now so you don't have to worry about it.
