Disney's Long Term DVC Strategy

I have never had them scan anything at WDW.

When I was grabbing some waters in HS the cast member had me use the MDE app and click on my profile and then memberships and passes to see the DVC/AP for the discount.

That might be the loophole you need.
Usually I have to go into the Apple Wallet and then click on the i to show dvc-by

The MDE just has several Visa cards, d23, dvc and AP listed. AP is the only thing that has extra info as it shows the expiration date.
I have done this 🤣🤣 i have the membership cards screenshot on my phone. If they ask to actually scan it i pull out the Disney Visa instead. That's great for DLR but at WDW the visa doesn't give you the restaurants discount or the 20% merchandise. I need to look into those AP discounts, always having to use the tricks lol
Yours shows several Visas too? For the longest time I just had the debit card and it showed 2 Visas. Now I also have the credit card and it shows 3. No idea why.
Is it because its chase disney?

My spouse might not know much about our DVC, but has definitely tried to work the discounts, unashamedly. I'm constantly like "you can't do that; you are going to get them in trouble!" but there have been way more successes than failures. I finally said, "look, just buy things when I'm there with my pass discount." :D
I may or may not prefer if someone or a particular app were to happen to pixie dust me the dvc discount because paired with a target gift card I actually save 15% is all im going to say 😇

Yes but is the incredipass discounts better? I guess that doesn't matter because pixie pass is way cheaper
No Incredipass discount is 20% merch and 10% at sit down restaurants. I did find that my Incredipass (before I joined DVC) worked at a lot more restaurants than my friend’s Disney Visa but the discount was exactly the same.

Yeah the Disney Visa pretty much doesn't give you a discount at the wdw hotel restaurants. 10% at dlr.

Huh. On my most recent trip, I had CMs ask to see the (virtual) card in my wallet pretty much every time. I don't know what they'd do if there was a DVC-N instead of -Y or -BY, though.
Yes, I’ve been asked to see it multiple times the previous poster had stated about scanning. I don’t even know if scanning is possible.

I typically set my wallet to the "blue card" as the icon. If you are not a member with direct benefits, are you able to select the "blue card" on your wallet?

I also find it interesting that they will not accept physical AP cards - they want verification through the app every time I have tried to show them a physical card.

Disney seems to have something against physical cards in general though - I find it tough to get a room key every time we stay on property. DCL is another story...

I think the Apple Wallet picture options are the same for all members. They have to look at the extra information on the card to see the difference. I (no direct points) have a blue/green card option with a globe Mickey head and a suitcase as my DVC option, in addition to all the non-DVC options.

I found that CMs ask to see the DVC status in the profile section on MDE. It doesn’t specify whether a member is DVC-Y or not, and so a discount is always given based on that. Haven’t been recently so don’t know whether that has changed or not.

Same. Every time for me last month.
I think WDW takes it more seriously. At vgc they just asked to see it and didnt scan. The grand hall cart didnt even know if they take it or not lol. Waitress told me she didnt know how to set it up on the mobile wallet. They're really not informed.
