Disney's Grizzly River Run or Knott's Bigfoot Rapids? Which do you like more and why?

I've only been on GRR once a few years ago and I thought it was so tame compared to Knott's. I also didn't get very wet. At Knott's there were more thrills and more WET!

So, my vote goes to Knott's.

Sorry.

:(

GRR has much better themeing, two actual drops (one of which is the amazing spinning drop), and free lockers. BFR has mediocre themeing (mostly themed to a concrete flume), no drops, and no free lockers.

Not a tough call at all!

I have to agree with the pp. GRR is SO much better themed. Also, the wetness is relative, as it is with Splash Mountain. I'm gotten off GRR bone dry one time, then got right back in line, and got absolutely SOAKED the second time. Drenched head to toe. Weight and distribution play and big part in this, but you just hit the river differently every time. So there's no telling how wet you're going to get.

It has been years since I've been to Knotts or any other theme park besides DL. For me, the themes make all the difference. I just don't want to stand in line for a ride no one put much creativity into.

I too have come off dry one time and drenched the next. But I can't speak to the dips and hills on the rivers since I haven't been to the Knotts one. For pure thrills I'm not qualified to cast a vote. :)

Go again. Wear something dry-clean only OR white while wearing red underwear, no poncho, full make-up and fancy hair if you're female (or male for that matter) and with dinner reservations an hour from when you expect to be off the ride. Please. :upsidedow

:rotfl2: I love your postings on these boards!! And - you are SO right about what to do to guarantee a splashing good time. :wizard:

Two drops? I must have missed that. My biggest thing is BFR had more drops, more thrills, was faster, and so on.

Thanks. :goodvibes

I know nothing about Knotts (though I'd like to go when DS is much older and can enjoy the coasters!) but I adore GRR. My first time on it was nighttime in January while it was raining. Loved it! Even while soaked (and I was wearing a poncho). Went twice, actually, b/c they put my solo nearing-40 self into a raft with a bunch of late elementary/early middle school boys celebrating a chess club celebration, and they were soooooo funny, and they invited me to go around again with them. :goodvibes

Then I went in the daytime and it was still good! At one point on our last trip, people were chanting "gey-ser gey-ser gey-ser" while coming down the spinning drop. Those people were never the ones that got it! The ones obviously thinking it would be a cute little ride before Napa Rose, LOL, who were mystified wondering "what's a geyser?" were the ones who got the geyser pummeling the bottom of their raft, shooting up and splashing down just when they thought they were safe.

Sorry, see my tag for how much I adore that ride and the geyser.....:goodvibes

BFR has NO drops whatsoever. Sure, it has dips along the way, but no actual drops!

GRR on the other hand has two sheer drops, the second of which is the 22-foot spinning drop.

Just to prove that GRR drops more than BFR, the height of BFR's lift hill is 8.5 feet, while the height of GRR's lift hill is 45 feet.

We were very dissappointed with Knotts river rapids compared to GRR. If you want to get wet on GRR sit next to an entry point, Knotts had a few dips but no drops like GRR. I have to admit that I liked GRR better when the last geyser user to soak one raft in three but they have stopped that now, but it is still way better than Knotts.
