I always thought that the "Big Red Boat" was Disney's original experiment in Disney themed cruising. But apparently there had been earlier, less succesful forays into this area....

p.s. Please note that the first part of the story is prolly on the pg-13 level, but nothing real bad(just some @#!&$@%'s in place of certain words and a medium inuendo level). I wouldn't even mention it but this IS a Disney board. :)

LOL!! :rotfl:

Leave to the Navy to have such a fine sea story!! No wonder it took Mickey so long to approve the cruise idea! He probably never wanted to set foot on any ship again! hehehehe!!! :boat: :bitelip: :duck:

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :rotfl: Seeing as I'm in the navy, I can greatly appreciate the irratation the sailors had for having to go back out for something as "trivial" as picking up a mouse, especially after a bad deployment! I can also understand the irratation of the weather, the ridiculous desires of the navy to be in your "best" when on a line handling working party (never fun:crazy2: ) and the bands playing.......if it wasn't for my love of disney I probably would have been horribly mad too! Speaking of Disney and the navy, they were out here in Jan filming on my ship for a new movie. I don't know when it's coming out though, don't even know who's in it except for the little girl from "Remember the Titans".

It's probably for the new Disney TV movie called"Tiger Cruise" that comes out in the fall. Apparently, the timeline calls for a tiger cruise to take place on Sept. 11, 2001 and what happens when the ship gets called to GQ and such.:boat:

My husband, who spent 20 years on carriers, (I lucked out with a tour in Hawaii and Italy - didn't have too many women on ships in the late 80's) - is looking forward to the show...

Yeah, that's the name of it. It was pretty funny because they would call away drills just for the movie. They were actually letting sailors be extras (paid extras I might add) and because my division had a lot going on I couldn't go do it.:sad1: It'll still be pretty cool seeing my ship (again) in a movie. We were also in "Sum of All Fears", yep, the carrier that was blown up!
