Disney's double stroller vs. other brand

Good morning!

We are headed to DW in a few weeks and I'm trying to decide between using Disney's rental stroller for my twin boys, (6, ASD) or renting a different brand.

They don't use a stroller on a regular basis anymore but from what I have heard, we may need it.

Any suggestions on a Disney double vs. one of the strollers you can rent for the week?

I like the idea of being able to go back to the hotel wit ha stroller - can't do that with a rental, huh.

I also like the idea of my kids walking until they are tired and then renting a Disney stroller as needed.

Hmmm...

Thanks everyone!

The Disney rentals are hard plastic. You may have an easier time getting them in a rental that is more comfortable.

good point! Thank you!
a lot of people whose children have autism have actually reported their children prefer the WDW strollers.
They are firm plastic (like Little Tikes play equipment) and quite smooth. They also have a canopy that covers the top and some of the side. There are some pictures here.

Many people have posted their children liked the firm pressure feel of sitting on the WDW strollers and also felt the canopy helped cut down sensory stimulation more than the outside rental strollers.

Can you take them to a local store to try a few. My 6 year old is tall and honestly I don't think she would fit in one of the disney strollers. We are having to take two singles because she is too tall for most of the others. Buy buy baby is a great choice to try them. Most rental places you can rent a bob revolution single, bob revolution duallie, city mini single or double, and city mini gt single and double (I would look at this one)

Trust me even using the stroller your kids will be worn out!

My kids didn't mind the harder Disney strollers. I would definitely want a canopy. The double stroller was pretty easy to maneuver too.

Another consideration is how they sit. Most off site doubles are like two singles squished together, with a separate spot for each child and a divider. Disney strollers are a bench - no divider. My kid likes it more for his "safe space" so having his brother right next to him doesn't help. Even when we got the kid carts at the grocery store, they'd be at each other before the trip was done. (granted, there is more space in a Disney stroller than those car carts at the grocery store, but they still find a way to annoy each other.) If it's more helpful to have them together then Disney stroller may be an option.
