AK always has crappy transportation for some reason. Another thing, how much would using the TTA large scale cost?

Since it doesn't have to be raised like the monorail I'd say way cheaper than expanding that system.

The perfect test bed for using the TTA on a large scale would be to connect DHS and EC.

Have a station infront if DHS then travel along the walking path. Then have a station near Swan/Douplhin and Boardwalk. Then the final station where the old tram station infront of the WS entrance.

Do this as a test to see how using the system from a larger scale like from TTC to DAK.

No it would have to be mostly raised, other wise you would have what in the train biz they call at grade level crossings.

If you don't raise the "track" you now have "trains" crossing traffic that would require gates and and other signals to stop traffic or stop the trains which then just makes them buses on tracks.

Also there are more accidents at grade level crossings due to people trying to beat the gate or going around it.

I know it has to be raised but not like the monorail.

In all my years going I've never waited 45 minutes for a bus at Disney.

I have many times. Mostly when staying at AK. But it also took us close to an hour once to get from WL to DTD and only stopped at GF on the way. (that was driving time, not waiting and driving time) No clue where the guy took us

I Almost always rent a car now.

I would love a Villian themed park or a villian themed area of a park, that would be great at dhs

Monorail needs to be raised unless you want to build a fence/wall or whatever around the entire line to protect people from high voltage.

Likewise for the alternative agrument for the TTA being built throughout the Resort.

Or a train system in general, tracks are a dangerous place to stand on in any case because the vehicle can never swerve around to avoid you.

In any case I've certainly been a monorail and no, it didn't have a fence around the whole thing, and was mostly on the ground too. It just operated in an enviroment were people were not wandering around. Much the case of WDW once outside the parks.

I agree, I was simply just adding in my two cents worth with something I know a little about and not advocating one idea over another.

After seeing what a deer can do to a car, I would hate to see what one would do to a Monorail cab.

No reason the monorail won't someday be expanded. Cost is the factor and lets face it, cost is what it is at any particular point in time. In other words, it didn't cost any more in actual expense then than it would now. Real question is when and how Disney can find a way to realize some profit from the addition. It maybe will never happen but it certainly could if they can rationalize it.

I think the biggest thing that needs to be realized is that it takes sacrifice to make something "good". Disney is pretty much all about their own savings at this point and lost their innovative, adventurous, spirit to one of penny pinching scrooge mcduckery. tis a shame we won't see them diving into any new, homegrown, tech anytime soon.

If they extended the monorail thewould not build a single attraction for 20 years that's how expensive it will be.

I think overall, the bus system is flawed but could be worse. If you think about it, its amazing you don't have to wait 45 min. for every bus if you consider how many parks and hotels they need to go to on property.

You are right. Instead of looking at securing their place for the next 30 years they need to see how any investment will affect the next quarterly report. So sad.

I agree based on the comment made by DizCaptain above. It just shouldn't be that way though. They made the sacrifice once and look how well it turned out. IMO, they need to realize that occasionally the long term future should be in the plans too and again, IMO, transportation at WDW is the #1 glaring problem and the monorail is part of the Disney image.

They aren't like that anymore they will sacrifice nothing!!

That's why we are getting FLE instead of Mysterious Island that was supposed to open this summer to compete with Potter.

Ok, A NOTHING can compete with Harry Potter. It's a mega force. Disney turned JK down because they didn't want to build it the way she wanted to see it built. Proving that they are not having a vision anymore. It's all about building up and off of what they already have. Half of the things they have they don't even use!
