Hi, CR Fans! We just got back last night from the CR. I wanted to share with you the details on our "room assignment." It's all good, I promise. :) I had requested ground floor close to the pool. We arrived Wed. am about 7:30, ready to catch EMH at Epcot. The nice lady at the desk said "I can't tell you which room, but you will love it!" Well, we got room 6108 which was a WONDERFUL corner room at the end with water views on two sides. :woohoo: It was HUGE with a patio. Only thing, there are 5 of us in our family and only two beds. No problem, they brought a roll away. :yay: There was still a ton of floor room. I am so curious what a room with 2 beds and sofa bed looks like, though. Anyone have pictures? BTW, it was as far from the pool as you can get, but that 's okay. We had a great time! I will try to do a TR as soon as I get caught up on everything else in life!:laundy:

Here is what our room looked like in the tower. Just to the left out of the picture is the sofa bed that folded out, and down from that was the shelves and flat screen tv towards the closet and fridge...

The Grand 1 is WONDERFUL!!:goodvibes I am excited you're doing that. Do you have a Wishes cruise?? We just ordered champagne and a gorgeous bday cake. Lemonade for the girls. Private Dining will arrive and set everything up for you. The only thing is, don't do too much because the galley isn't the most fun place to be. I think keep it simple so you can be out on the deck enjoying sights. We had a lovely dinner at Citricos and dessert on the yacht.

Enjoy!

Lives4Disney :)

I'm was thinking along the exact same lines. Private Dining wants me to firm things up. I think a mini cake, tuxedo strawberries and champagne will be perfect for us. I want it to be fun and no fuss. I'm considering not even dressing up! I want it to be casual, maybe a sundress. Now, should I bring our own music or will they have some CDs on board?

Thanks CR Resort Fan 4 Life. Would we still be able to the lounge and watch the fireworks? I think when we were there in March we could have, but never did because we got in so late. Thanks for your help.
Yes you can still go to lounge to watch the fireworks.

Great picture and after looking at it, I am even more excited to get back there this August.

I also want to ask you where is the computer that should be on the table by the mirror where that single chair is, where you have all that stuff laid out?

Going to WDW in 10 days will CR arcade be open. I have seen a post about it but going blind tring to find it. My dd and I love the CR arcade.

Just booked a 1 bedroom theme park view suite for the end of our vow renewal trip and have a couple of questions.

Sorry if these have been asked but they didn't come up when searching.

We have stayed in a reg room on the 14th floor a few years ago but not since the new rooms. Anyone have pix of the new suites?

Also, the room code we have booked is a CN. I remember when we last stayed 14th floor there was a map of where the rooms were. Anyone know where I could find that?

Thanks so much!! Lisa

It looks like your suite could be one of three on the MK side...

Actually, I just noticed that the suite pics are pre-2006. There are some recent pics on this site from a 14th floor standard room, but not a suite... sorry. Here are the standard room pics: http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/Resorts/dlx/Contemp/CR.htm

Congrats on your vow renewal...

Thanks Karen! I forgot I actually have that page on my favorites! I'm glad to see the furniture's been replaced. We didn't love it when we stayed in room 4905 a few years ago.

Thanks too for the well wishes. It's going to be quite the 10 year blow out once in a lifetime trip. We are starting the trip w/ the King K suite at the Poly, then honeymoon (hopefully turret) suite at the Grand, then BWI garden suites, 2 br akl (although I'm worried about the construction) and ending with 1br mkview at CR. It will be quite a whirlwind 16 days! I will definitely help you update those KK suite and 1br cr photos when we return! Thanks! Lisa

We were in a Bay View 1BR suite last week - I will post photos when I get a chance and I do believe I took a photo of the room map so you can see where things are. We were in 4907 - last room overlooking the North construction site - I just ignored it and looked over it to see all the other great things but I don't recommend that room. You have a MK view so you should be fine.

I have a quick question. My fiance and I are staying in the garden wing for our wedding and honeymoon in July. Normally when we go to WDW he goes to the food court and gets breakfast and brings it back to the room while I'm getting ready since I take longer than him. Is there an outer entrance to the food and fun center, or will he have to go into the main building? What would be the easiest route?

Thanks!!

Thanks! It will be crazy, but great!

Karen, maybe now we'll run into you at the Contemporary too! If I don't talk to you before, have a wonderful day. Relax and remember to take the time to just look around and take it all in. It goes by all too quickly!:) Lisa

I stayed in that room when I was 17!!! That was 20 years ago, so I'd be really interested to see pictures now. Just curious, was it the construction that makes you not recommend it, or were there other factors?

We were so excited to get that room - we were upgraded from a regular tower room because they were overbooked. Plus, my sister and I were teens, so we felt like we were living in the lap of luxury (I don't think my parents thought it was too bad, either).

Even though I posted a thread about this I thought I would post again since this is the official Contemporary thread, that another counter service option while the Food & Fun Center will be closed is the Contemporary Sand Bar which is located by the pool area. I would think it's a 99.9% chance the temporary location on the 4th floor won't sell hot food, so at least the Sand Bar will. What I don't know is if they would be selling the mugs there, however back in January 2000 when the Food & Fun Center was closed for a minor renovation, they did sell the mugs there and guests were allowed to get them refilled there. I guess you can say the only draw backs is they don't serve breakfast and their menu is more limited. However it's a lot better then what the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge went threw, because those Resorts did not have a 2nd location for hot food when their counter service locations were closed for renovation. So here is the menu from Allearsnet.com for you to see.

The pictures of the standard rooms at contemporary tower look amazing now. Plus, the rooms looks so roomy they almost look like a suite with the couch and flat TV and nice bathroom. I sure would like to stay in one of those rooms!

Do the garden wing rooms look different? I haven't seen pictures of those? Anyone have any?

Is it probably best to only stay in tower if you're going to contemporary? I think this might be my next resort!

We stayed in a garden wing/garden view room in February, and it looked exactly like the tower room pictured above.

We loved the garden wing room, I'd stay there again. I loved the location, we were on the 1st floor and had sliding doors out to a small patio with chairs and a grassy area for my DD's to "unwind". We could also see and hear the electric water pageant from our room too :)

Hope this helps!

Is there any where in the tower that you can see the electric water pagent from?
