I do, but I've never had any luck posting photos to these boards. Can you point me to some good directions?

You can upload it to a free account like Photobucket. Then you copy the IMG code and post it here. Or you can email it to me at triplefigs@yahoo.com, and I'd be happy to post it for you if that is easier. I can't wait to see it!

We're staying at the Contemporary Nov.15-24, Thanksgiving week. Does anyone know if we will be able to use our CS credits at the temporary CS set up by the Outer Rim for breakfast?

I believe the Summer House was the temp location for Gaspies when the GF renovated. Does anyone remember what they served? I wouldn't even mind going outside to the Cont.'s Sand Bar, if we could get hot breakfast items.

I should just save our CS credits for lunch and let them eat Mickey rice crispy bars for breakfast.:rotfl:

Lori

Hey, Lori! Are you joining me in the CR instead of GF? We used CS credits for b'fast at the CR last Sept. They had breakfast plates (eggs/bacon) etc as well as muffins, bagels, cereals. We usually got 2 plates and it was enough for all 5 of us as we're not big breakfast eaters. Great to see you!

Denise

Hey Girlfriend, yes I am joining in on the CR fun! The kids wanted a change and they love the Cont. We're staying tower, MK view. No concierge level, but we'll manage this time. I couldn't justify the cost for 9 nights.:scared: I have a breaking point and Disney found mine.

The Food and Fun Center will be closed when we're there. My DH and kids need to eat protein with breakfast. I'll just have to get creative.

Thanks,
Lori

We're not staying concierge either. Tower MK view for us too! We'll be there Sept 22 for 7 nights. I'll let you know about the b'fast options for CS in the temp location.

Lori, we'll be at WDW the same time as you! :goodvibes We arrive Nov 16 and stay til 25th.....I totally understand about the breaking point.....this will be our first GF nonconcierge stay. (Yes, we are still GF fans....been to the CR too many times over the years and I am waiting for final renovations to be completed before we try it again) THe cost of the concierge rooms is getting way too high for what you get IMO. We just stayed at the Swan a week in May and lived w/out concierge and we were FINE! :) I miss the great CMs, but unfortunately that's about it.

Happy planning!

Hi, Channing! You should come join us on the "dark side"... I know your kids love the CR too!

Oh, yah, they do! We will be over there soon I'm sure. :thumbsup2 It has a lot of special memories for us. It will be a "new" GF experience for us staying GV. We shall see how that goes.....I think the rates for concierge are just getting out of hand. :sad2: The rates go up, the service goes down. :guilty: I am done with that for a while. We had a wonderful Xmas stay but had regrets about the cost when it was all said and done.

The kids would love a CR stay, but I just want a holiday stay at the GF. November will be almost a year since our last GF stay, so this is MY fix! :goodvibes

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

These great pictures are courtesy of DISer krbq. I'm just posting them for her. A big thanks for her sharing them with us! Here's what she said in her email:

To give you an idea of the size, the plate is about 14-16" in diameter. The Contemporary logo on the plate is made with cinnamon, and the other desserts were very rich cream-filled pastries. The plate fit inside the room's refrigerator, but just barely. As I recall, it cost about $40.

Hi everyone, I have a question about the Atrium club. What are the odds of getting an MK view if you request one. We stayed on the 14th floor last time and got a Bay Lake view. It was nice, but we are going for New Year's Eve and I would really like a MK view. Also, does anyone know if the concierge floor will have extended hours for New Year's Eve? I am at odds at which park to go to. I am thinking how great it would be it have an MK view, and then I could come back early and celebrate from afar. I am so lost at this New Year's Eve planning.

Hello - In my experience with booking, I always request any preferred view when making my reservation, and when I check-in, I inquire again, as room assignments are generally made according to availability at check-in. New Years Eve is a wonderful time to be at WDW and reservations with a Magic Kingdom view is an ultra plus. I prefer the Magic Kingdom for the New Year's celebration, and you are correct, when staying at the Contemporary (Magic Kingdom view), allows you to come back to the resort and get away from it all, but still have the feeling of being in the midst of the events. If you aren't lucky enough to get the MK view, there are so many places around the CR where you can view the firework festivities. If all else fails, and you want a superior view, make reservations to dine at the California Grill, the view of the castle, fireworks, and the Magic Kingdom is awesome, and in my opinion the best on property. As to concierge service having extended hours, I would suggest you make a call to the CR (407) 824-1000 for the most up to date information.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Hi, CR Fans! We just got back last night from the CR. I wanted to share with you the details on our "room assignment." It's all good, I promise. :) I had requested ground floor close to the pool. We arrived Wed. am about 7:30, ready to catch EMH at Epcot. The nice lady at the desk said "I can't tell you which room, but you will love it!" Well, we got room 6108 which was a WONDERFUL corner room at the end with water views on two sides. :woohoo: It was HUGE with a patio. Only thing, there are 5 of us in our family and only two beds. No problem, they brought a roll away. :yay: There was still a ton of floor room. I am so curious what a room with 2 beds and sofa bed looks like, though. Anyone have pictures? BTW, it was as far from the pool as you can get, but that 's okay. We had a great time! I will try to do a TR as soon as I get caught up on everything else in life!:laundy:

:cheer2: I'm so excited.:thumbsup2 Hopefully, we'll run into each other. I need some food advice for the Grand 1. We're taking it out next week for our 20th anniversary! We're staying at the Swan.

Denise,

I have to order that monorail. My family will FLIP!

The odds of getting a MK View room on the Atrium Club is 50/50. In all our stays on the Atrium Club we have never requested the view and we have always been lucky enough to get it. So if we don't get it and end up with the Bay Lake View this August, we won't be mad or upset because it's not like we have not had it before and we can always see the Magic Kingdom from the lounge.

As for your other question the Cast Members who work on the Atrium Club floor do not have extended hours on New Years Eve, so everyday their hours are 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM.

Thanks for sharing and it sounds like your family had a great stay at the Contemporary.

Thanks CR Resort Fan 4 Life. Would we still be able to the lounge and watch the fireworks? I think when we were there in March we could have, but never did because we got in so late. Thanks for your help.

Thank you Lewanc, you have given me much to think about. I better get busy. I do love the California Grill.

Lori, congratulations!! We have our 20th next Sept 08. You have just planted a seed here, lol!!!!:rotfl: What a wonderful idea.:thumbsup2 Hope you have a beautiful time. We just stayed at the Swan in May. no comment here.:rolleyes1

The Grand 1 is WONDERFUL!!:goodvibes I am excited you're doing that. Do you have a Wishes cruise?? We just ordered champagne and a gorgeous bday cake. Lemonade for the girls. Private Dining will arrive and set everything up for you. The only thing is, don't do too much because the galley isn't the most fun place to be. I think keep it simple so you can be out on the deck enjoying sights. We had a lovely dinner at Citricos and dessert on the yacht.

Enjoy!
