Hello!

I haven't conifrmed the upgrade yet (to chicken to call and can't pull up my ressie at disneyworld.com) BUT, IPO did get back to me about an ADR request I made. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Well at least you got started by having the IPO Cast Members make some ADR's for you.

Hi! I'm looking at the CR property map so I can plan out some things for our upcoming wedding stay. We are staying in the south garden wing, and the property map on allearsnet looks like there are 2 rooms at the end of the wing closest to the tower that are way larger than the others. It looks like the room numbers end in 03 and 7(?) (I can't read the number after the 7, 2 maybe?) Are these rooms really larger? Are there 2 on each floor? That would be SO NICE to have to get ready for the wedding since there will be a lot of us getting ready in the same room.

Thanks!!!

I know that the ones that in the "bend" of the wing are the junior suites. We stayed in one last year, and they are huge! I see the ones closest to the tower that you spoke of. The only other suites that I know of in the wings are the hospitality suites, but I am not 100% certain that there not others in the wings that exist. The Disneywebsite gives some information on the hospitality suites, but I have never seen photos of them (I would love to though).

So cool! I had no idea there were larger suites available in the garden wing. I wonder if anyone has pictures? Now I can just hope for some wedding pixie dust that maybe we'll get one ;)

Each of the bigger rooms in the CR wings has to be reserved separately. They have different names than the garden wing rooms. The junior suites are actually called "Deluxe rooms" (just changed recently) are only a little bit more money than a regular room but are 630 sqft iwith no separate door. Way worth the extra money if you need the room, IMO. However, they are hard to get because there are only 3 rooms left now that the North wing is gone. The actual one bedroom suite and hospitatlity suite (2 bedroom suite?) are way more money and acutally have suite in the room title. Pics of the one bedroom suite are on the DIS under accomadations, then resorts, then contemporary and then rooms(www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/Resorts/contemprooms-review.htm) and incorrectly labled as a junior suite. Also, the suite rates are listed there too. Hope this helps, Marriedmyprince

Thank you SO MUCH! Those pictures are awesome :)

One additional question. We'd like to send chocolate covered strawberries to a couple guest rooms as a welcome gift. Does anyone know the cost for these from in room dining? Does anyone have a contact number for in room dining?

Thanks!!

I was doing some cleaning up today and went through a collecton of some of my old Disney stuff. I came accross a welcome folder which was given to me (my grandparents acutally) at the Contemporary in January 1972. I scanned the brochure but for some reason the images won't tranfer over to the dis photo page. Here's some photos of the brochure, some interested in the history of the hotel may enjoy them. My photography skills aren't that great - hopefully the images are clear enough to read. I have some other CR info from 1972 - hopefull I can figure out how to post scans.

These did not come out as clear as I'd hoped - still working on the scanned images.

Just wanted to update since I got my answer and thought maybe someone else might wonder too.

I called the normal Contemporary Resort number (407) 824-1000 and had them transfer me to the room service line (I actually asked for in-room dining and they said 'what is that?' haha, then they said 'oh, room service?') The tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries are $25 for 6 or you can also get a chocolate Mickey with them too for an additional $20. You can book it and pay for it in advance (I did it today for July 12) and they can deliver while you're in your room or they can leave them in the room if you're out. The only thing they cannot do is leave something in your room before you check in.

Now was a great time to book the Contemporary with the Magic Kingdom view for the dates you will be there, because eventually it will be 100% sold out. As for your other question here is a schedule of upcoming renovations that will be done at the Contemporary.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

Jue40, check out my trip report, the link is in my sig. We stayed in the MK view room and although it is expensive it is worth it.

subscribing.

Great thread. We are considering staying at the CR for our upcoming trip this Novemeber. This will be our 2nd trip to WDW.

I know this is going to be a repeat question, but this thread is just TOO big to read all of!

Are the garden view buildings attached to the main building? It appears as though they're not on the map.

And if I book (Garden View is all that's available!) I'm assuming I'd want to request the North building for any chance of seeing MK from my room... or is that just a pipe dream? Can you see the MK from the wings at all?!

Right now I have ressies for a Savannah room at AKL but I REALLY REALLY want a room on the 7 Sea's Lagoon... Contemporary is my first choice!

Thanks guys! You're always so helpful!

The North wing is gone! Only the south wing is left.
