Did I miss it or did you not post about your recent stay at WL?
The fire escape doors are locked from the outside. You would need to prop it open or have someone let you back in to return (expeditiously) to your room.
We had one in May 2014 in the garden wing. I had called and noted it on my reservation. When we got to the room and it wasn't a king I called from the room using "house Phone" and they found me a room without having to go back to the lobby. Ours was on the side facing the pool.We have booked our trip for 11/4-11/12/16 to stay in the GW GV. I see on the website that king rooms are available but they can not be specifically booked. I called Disney and they said that there are no King rooms available in the GW or the Tower. Is this something I have to simply put in on a room request (which I did)? I'm just confused because I cannot find anywhere online to select the room type for the GW or Tower as far as bed selection.
What did you end up deciding? Where do they think they're staying?

I had to cancel this year's trip, also next year's (stupid health stuff) but should be OK for 2017Such a long way off but at least something to look forward to. My last trip at WL was in 2014, I loved it there so much and am disappointed to read about the expansion so it's going to be off my return list until all the work is finished.
It's my first time planning a trip to the Contemporary, time for something newI think I'd probably be better off watching Wishes from the observation deck as the doors lock, I'm currently booked in a tower baylake view room as I think the view looks gorgeous, only downside of course is not having a Wishes view.
Welcome home and thanks for letting everyone know about the HA BLT shower. Do they still sell soap on a rope?!
So you didn't have a clock either? This is a strange phenomenon. Thank you for posting about your stay and I wonder where you'll stay next time?
I'm curious as well. We arrive Feb 22 so there's no getting around this. After so much planning we rented points and got a TPV room that make up for a trip that we had to cancel at the last minute last year. Does this also mean that the only place for mug refills will be Contempo Cafe? I'm not happy about this.
I'm sorry you've had to cancel a couple of trips, but 2017 isn't that far off....it will be here before you know it. Hope you enjoy the planning for your first CR stay. We've never stayed at the CR, but are hoping to try it sometime next year.
I just booked a garden room with a garden view, I have stayed here before but never in a garden room.
I read that I should enjoy the garden rooms, and don't mind the little extra walk and quiet is nice.
Have these rooms been updated recently? Any thoughts good bad, room conditions?
Thank you
Thank youThe way time is flying by I don't think it'll be too long either lol
The problem is that the BLT pool will be closed while we're there. I got an official email from Disney about this yesterday.Since you are staying at the BLT, you will be able to access the pool there and they have the soda machine at the pool bar you can use. But if you want the coffee, hot chocolate you will need to trek over to the main building.

We're just 16 days away from arriving. It's been a very impatient year of waiting, but I am super excited. Almost here!
We're booked for our first stay at the Contemporary - Oct 12-15! (We'll spend the first part of that week at universal)
So excited to be staying on the monorail, especially since we'll have a 7 month old by then and don't want to deal with folding and unfolding the stroller.
I've never stayed at a deluxe before, so I'm worried about being spoiled and never wanting to stay at a moderate or value again.
Just so you are aware, there is a hefty price tag on the themepark rooms at BLT. You mentioned flexability with regards to renting points. We have a 2 year old and we stay at BLT as DVC owners. We always get the Theme Park view. But we also spend more time in the room than many other guests. During our 7 days, we only go to the park 4 days, and the days we go, we don't usually get there before 1030 and leave usually before 7. We love spending time looking out and watching the transportation and Magic kingdom come to life. We also enjoy the fireworks from our room balcony each night, or depending on which direction our bed faces, just laying in bed and watching them.
For us it is a great experience, but may certainly be a luxury for many, including other DVC members. I have included two photos from our last trip.
It's been nearly 40 years since we've stayed at the Contemporary, so please excuse the stupid questions. Within the tower, are there rooms on the 1st floor? Are rooms on the 4th floor hard to get? Can you hear the monorail significantly from within your room on the 4th floor.
