Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We just stayed AKL CL last week and can confirm that you still have to ask for alcoholic beverages as well as the hot dishes during evening apps time.
Does a cm serve the hot dishes?
So basically you walk up and they give you a plate, is that right?

Hi all,

Have planned a Yacht Club CL visit for September and hoping to lock in a cabana. I have a member of our crew with food allergies. If we order food in the cabanas, where does it come from? Just looking to see if our DD will be able to eat if we are lucky
enough to score a cabana.

It comes from Hurricane Hanna's

Yes, a CM serves the dishes as mrsap said. The plates are tiny, but you can grab a more regular sized plate from the regular buffet style counter and ask the CM to put the food on that. We did that with the butter chicken and rice dish as it was real good and we didn't want to keep coming back for the tiny portions.

What do we think of these new paper cups they seem to be using now in the CLs? Someone could fact check me on the measurements, but they seem smaller?

They are definitely smaller, but more importantly (to me) I don't like how these new to go cups taste. They make everything I put in them, hot or cold, taste off. Now I end up just sitting in the lounge extra long with my coffee in a cup or my lemonade in a glass.

I guess this is for allergy or hygiene reasons (??) and maybe not new (haven’t been to Poly CL in a bit, was new to me), but an interesting cookie serving setup in a era of focusing on eliminating single use plastics.
We voted it was to keep the cookies fresh, make them available as a grab-n-go, and for hygiene reasons. They made up for this use of plastic by reducing the small cups to be even smaller.

Small cup is 12 fluid oz exactly. Large cup (paid for at Wailulu) only holds roughly 2ish fluid oz more (I’m estimating here, don’t have a way to measure) but “feels” like a more proper cup.

If only you would have brought a tape measure, Dave could have finally known the width of the BWI cottage steps!😂

Thanks for remembering @NicoleLarson.

Actually I was asking about the Rule of 17 for stairs. According to this rule, the sum of the riser height and the tread depth should equal 17 inches. For example, if the riser height is 7 inches, the tread depth should be 10 inches.

Thank you for the AKL update. I am booked there for February. I'm going to mull
that over. Having to ask for the hot dishes is a bit much. Uhm...I paid for it!
Don't make me feel like Oliver Twist.
Absurd. Makes me think of that A/C you bought when you paid for your room, but it doesn't mean Disney won't try to turn it off in the middle of the night!🤬🤬

Sorry about OT question but I know we have Portofino people here. We got our room, ate at 430, and we are so so far. We are overlooking the villa pool. I remember that I had a similar room my first time here. I *think* there was a shortcut someone here told me about but I don't remember it. We figured out a quick way to the boat but the lounge and lobby feel miles away. This room makes the boardwalk halls seem short. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please share lol.

The good news is I'm sitting in the lounge eating cheese and enjoying a peroni.
