Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Thanks for the review, and glad you had a great time at CR Atrium Club. CR isn't the perfect resort or CL, but I have always had a soft spot in my travel heart for CR. For us it has been the one spot that has had consistent high quality CM service.... and still the only Disney resort where I've been recognized as a repeat guest.

I wish I didn't like Poly as a resort so much, otherwise I'd be hard pressed not to go with CR more often.

PS: Nice plane!
Love, love, love your review! Especially since I've had a bit of anxiety about our upcoming stay in February. Our CL experience was not so fabulous at BC CL, CR sounds so much more welcoming!
I'm so looking forward to it, we specifically booked Tower Level so as to have the larger balcony, I can't wait to hang out at night and watch the fireworks from our very own balcony!
Thanks so much!!!

Oops, evidently I hit the wrong post to reply to!
My reply is to @trishadono!
Sparkle on!

We stayed last month for seven days and GF RPC did not repeat a meal for the evening. I have never been more impressed with club level offerings as I was with the RPC. I will try to recall some of the food selections we experienced during our stay. I will not be able to remember all of the amazing food...sorry:guilty:

*Refrigerator is stocked with drinks all day. You can request wine, beer, or champagne as well. Great selection of wines and beer.

Breakfast: Egg frittatas, deviled eggs, sticky buns, muffins, oatmeal, assortment of cereals, selections of cut fruit, juices, smoked sliced turkey breast, sliced ham, prosciutto, cheese selections, croissants, bagels, assortments of breads, jams, butter, cream cheese, coffee, and teas **Also had Mickey waffles prepared by a chef two of our mornings

Lunch: alternating soups of tomato bisque and corn chowder, meat and cheese for sandwiches, assortment of bread, crudite', spinach artichoke dip, tomato basil dip, hummus, coconut macaroons, rice krispie treats, cookies,

Afternoon tea: Scones, jam tarts, banana bread, red velvet cake, Devonshire cream, homemade butter balls, cream cheese, strawberry jam, apricot spread, teas, lemonade, tropical juice (POG juice) **champagne is amazing with scones :D

Evening: crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms, meatballs with marinara, sausage w/peppers, mojo pork w/ polenta, beef skewers, glazed salmon, pork belly, tuna, chicken penne pasta, Greek meatballs??, avocado hummus with pita chips, cold soups (these alternated: stawberry, red pepper, vichyssoise, crab chowder, gazpacho) salads, pasta salad, broccoli slaw, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, chilled grilled vegetables, cheeses, fruit, crackers, and breads

Desserts: The assortment changed nightly but trust me on this don't miss it.

Trust me just go and experience GF RPC. :flower1:
You had me at Devonshire Cream, lol!

I’m a Poly homer... I can help with some Poly CL love. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I have a Poly trip coming up and it literally cannot come soon enough.

All of the resorts themselves and their respective CLs have their own pros and cons. No resort/CL combination is going to make everyone happy.

I like to read reviews, but I take everything with a grain of salt. All of our views are so subjective to our personal experiences and travel wants/needs... I just never quite take things too seriously until I’ve had a chance to experience it for myself. (I acknowledge that’s very hard to do when talking about a large $ investment in one’s vacation)

One thing about DISer comments....when people post reviews, I generally want to know exactly when that person last stayed at that resort/CL. Things with CL change/morph/evolve over time. Sometimes slowly, sometimes overnight... so it’s important to filter out old experiences, in my humble opinion.

As to TripAdvisor... I don’t put much stock in those reviews at all! :-)

Just one person’s perspective, but hope that helps.
So agreed about TripAdvisor...
And you're so right, one man's ceiling is another man's floor! Lol

This has been a fun thread to look through! I am booked for my first club level stay in July (AKL Jambo house). I see the breakfast service usually starts at 7am, which is great for a normal 8 or 9am park opening. However, they moved up the opening of Hollywood Studios to 7am (EMH) for our whole trip, so we need to leave much earlier to ride the new Toy Story rides. So is there any chance club level breakfast would open an hour earlier as well so we can still get breakfast before going to the park?
Honestly, this is the big reason we hardly ever stay CL. We are early risers and like to be at the parks when/before they open. We travel to Disney at some of the busiest times of the year, which is when the parks tend to open early. We feel that not being able to enjoy breakfast in the lounge takes enough away from the CL experience that we would prefer to just stay in a non-CL room. I wish they could offer a little something at 6 AM...waiting until 7 for breakfast seems really late to me!. We always enjoy our CL stays and wish we could do them more often. Not being able to enjoy breakfast in the lounge, though, is a dealbreaker for us. We're staying CL at the Poly this summer and are really looking forward to it!!

I really wouldn't pay attention to reviews honestly. We love poly cl. Last yr we stayed BC cl. We hated it. Even my kids didn't like it. We had horrible service and felt the cms were cold. Wouldn't you know a fellow disser was there the same time. They had the complete opposite experience then us. We couldn't even get a beer, they had great service. I actually wanted to switch resorts but dh was too lazy too move. Reviews are all subjective. Go in with an open mind and have fun!
Agreed! You know what opinions are Iike... (Lol)
We too had, what I considered, a disastrous stay at BC CL. With the same c/o as you, and more... So much so, that I would never consider staying at BC CL again. But, I'm willing to try YC, r/t SAB pool. But everything is SOOOOO objective! And since that time Disers have waxed poetic about how wonderful BC CL is, so, you never know!

Dropping back in to update on a few things we have done. We are still very much enjoying AKL and the CL.
On Wednesday night we did the Star Wars dessert party.
It is now our favorite dessert party. (The freeze dried Nutella was yummy!) We have now experienced all of the dessert parties and I would do this one again. Although it rained during the fireworks we still had a good time.

Our favorite as well!!!

When we were there in June it was 24 hours. During non service times you had access to the pop fridge and juice and water.

Really? Awesome! I always thought they closed the lounge off several times during the day for cleaning and stuff. They don't do that anymore?

We had the exact feeling as you at the BC. There was only 1 guy that was nice. I too can't remember his name. The CMs were so cold that we said we would not stay there again and we haven't (Although that was several years ago - maybe things have changed). I don't expect the CMs to be our best friends but I do expect them to help their guests. They were so unhelpful and made us feel like we were bothering them. Although we did have wonderful CMs at the Yacht club and have gone back there several times.
In our experience in March, we got off the elevator and 2 male CMs were standing chatting at the concierge desk. When we waved to them, they physically turned away from us to continue their conversation. It was incredibly disconcerting and downright rude. I figured they must be telling state secreats or were protecting someone's HIPPA information, lol. But, people staying very soon after us said great things... So, it may be just luck of the draw (or luck of who your CM is)

No, you can go in another door, however there is no food or drinks available.
ETA: this was at BC CL.

Just checked in. Did they do away with welcome back chocolates and sand pails for the children?

At Poly? I didn’t have chocolates last time.

I’m also 50/50 with the sand pales. Sometimes I have to ask.

Last trip was NYE so things could have changed.

As in shuts the door? We've never been ran out during the day but they do pull food and beverages. But we've sat in the lounge for the hour between services several times, at the encouragement of the staff. Once it was raining and we didn't want to walk back to the cottage in the rain, other times it was check out day and we had no room. I think I have seen the door closed at night, after dessert service

Thank you; that's what i needed to know.

OMG! That’s so rude! Sorry that happened. That would def kill my CL excitement. I hope folks like that find another role other than CL CM. Those guys are usually so nice and welcoming.

Will be a first time CL’er in the fall at CR Atrium standard view. Is it true that there are standard view rooms that can see MK or the fireworks? Also is there zero chance, unless some pixie dust finds us, that you’d be in a theme park or MK view? Only staying three nights so want to enjoy the resort.
Your room will not be MK view. the rooms on the ST view side face Bay Lake, and overlook the pool.

You will however get 100% access to the CL lounge, which IS on the MK side, and a perfectly lovely place to watch the fireworks. It offers the EXACT SAME view as the MK view rooms, because it is on that side of the hotel.

Also, all the MK view rooms also overlook the road/parking area/the convention area of CR. They also have a view of GF.

While none of the CR rooms has stellar view of the Epcot/Hs fireworks, the standard view rooms do get a view of them. You don't get the music, and they are off the far end of the hotel, but you can see them.

You'll also get a super view of the water parade, the pool and the boats (that go towards Ft. Wilderness).

Odd are slim that you would get a free upgrade, but it is always a slim possibility. If I had to guess though...CR is a convention hotel. So if anyone was going to get an upgrade at CR, I tend to think they give those as perks to the folks who book conventions at CR. I don't know for sure, that just my hunch.

It was a difficult decision, between BWI and YC. I went with YC solely based upon that they are closer to the lounge. It's such a difficult decision! I'll stay at both! Thanks for the anniversary wishes.

We went with the garden cottage at BWI for October, since the passholder rate for our weekend was actually a fair bit cheaper than the water view club rooms at YC/BC we were looking at, and it was only a bit more expensive than the non-club standard view BC room we originally booked at rack rate before the discounts came out. A much bigger room for less money was the deciding factor for us!

Historically, Disney has not "held back" rooms. But, Disney has done some things lately they never did before (eg, mid-year rack rate increase this year) so I'm pretty open to anything!
It is entirely possible that someone has rooms blocked off for an event.

the BC/YC has over 70,000 feet of convention space, plus lots of spaces like the beach that can be made into temp spaces for events, plus the nearby Swan and Dolphin for lots more convention space.

Plus LOTS of event space inside Epcot.

So it is entirely possible they have some rooms blocked off.
Go to the Disney meetings website if you wish to know more. :)
