Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

So, after reading a *ton* of (wonderful) information on here, I finally get to post! Thanks to all who post such helpful information!

We recently did a split stay which included our first CL stay (GF - SL) - now we're hooked, and keep making lists of where to go next.

My question (really, probably the first of many!), is this:

We are planning on doing an early November trip (to do the Christmas party plus F&W), and a late September trip next year (to do the Halloween party plus F&W). The 4 resorts we plan on staying at (all CL) are BWI, BC, Poly and WL (one Epcot resort for easy access to the F&W Festival, and one MK resort). We already know we love the pool at Poly, and from reading on here, it seems that the pool at BC is quite popular. We are less interested in the pools at BWI and WL. So... the question is this: is the weather in early November warm enough (generally speaking) that we would likely want to spend days/hours pool-side? Or would the pool resorts be best left for the September trip? (I really kinda want to do the pool resorts in November so that, if we really love them, we could ditch 1 or both of the other 2 and just do some repeat... but the weather plays a big part).

Thanks!

My family will be staying at the Poly CL starting tomorrow! I'm so excited just wanted to share. Thanks everyone for your tips and tricks and congratulations to GADisneyDad14 for being made an official moderator!

Let me know if you all want any info posted on here during my stay. I would be happy to do so.

any tips on planning your CL FP? I book mine tomorrow and I am all over the place trying to figure out how to do this!

just remember you can always switch them around after you make them by contacting DSS.....

I just booked mine the other day and I can give you a few suggestions.

1) You can book all 6 when you call, the 3 purchased FP, and your 3 regular FP's as well. I set up my reg 3 first in the day so when all of those are used you can add a 4th even if you still haven't used your purchased fp's yet
s
2) Obviously with no tier restrictions it makes the most sense to use at animal kingdom, Epcot, and HS... TT, FEA, and Soarin will be guaranteed with your extra fp's!!

3) After you book them all you can go on your phone, comp, etc and modify the 60 day fastpasses if you want to. In Epcot for example you can book your 3 purchased fp's (tt, fea, soarin) then book mission space, character spot, and spaceship earth.... after you get off phone with dss you can go into your mde and change one of your 60 days to another tier 1 ride if you wanted to... so you could have tt booked twice or any other tier 1 ride if you wanted to!!!

hope this helps!!! good luck tomorrow!!!

Thank you! Were you able to book your 60FP early?

Yes only on the days that I purchased the extra CL fastpasses... so I did the minimum 3 day purchase on those three days I was able to set up my 3 purchased ones and my 3 reg fp’s even though I was farther out then 60 days....

Don’t stress though!! If you don’t know all of them you can always call back so don’t feel pressured if you don’t have them all planned out

Also you tell the cm’s what type of fp you want for each attraction you choose what order they go in. The CM’s are very helpful but pbviously with this being so new it may take a little time to set everything up

I’d like to think I’m a pretty good planner / have a good grasp of FPs/rides/how we like to tour... but I found it somewhat difficult, to be honest.

It’s so subjective / personal to your individual style of course.

For us, I generally booked the three “Extra FPs” for the morning through noon-1... sort of our solid plan for the day that I’m not likely to change (since you can only change those by calling DSS). I left the regular ones for later, and frankly just booked ‘whatever’ since I could come back and change myself later.

For whatever reason I have trouble planning over the phone, I need to sort of sit/think/map out, think some more, tinker, etc. Since we keep our afternoons/evenings somewhat open, I figured it’d be better for us to have the regular FPs around the later half of the day so I could move them around myself more easily.

But yeah, it takes some patience to think through everything!

3/4 November trips I do swim. This past year I even swam in December and just recently in January. It just varies. It can be 48-58 high or 70's-80's. Just have to be lucky!

One thing to keep in mind is Aug and Sept there is a lot of thunder storms and often the pool closes for that. You really need to have a weather app and watch. Sometimes you can sneak in the pool 12-1:30 before it hits, that kind of thing.

I have done cl at all of those resorts, you will have some fun!:flower1:

Oh I would keep what you have planned. Looks good!

Thank you both so much! This is my second trip and I have been trying to plan out our days and feel like I keep changing it on paper! lol Hopefully the CM will be patient with me. Thanks and wish me luck!! :)
Good luck! I did this a few weeks ago for my early April trip. It was strange making all of my regular FP+ at the same time and over the phone even though I had a spreadsheet made. The CM was really patient with me as I also had some questions because I thought I should confirm what I read on the boards. No TSMM fast passes (4/11-4/14) made it so I had to change on the fly. People's touring styles/plans will dictate whether to do the purchased FP+s first. We were doing two split days, so I decided to do the additional FP+s on those days first (EP, AK). I figured we could make do with the other 3 for our short visits to the other parks. We decided to do a full day at MK for our third day. I made sure to make our regular FP+s first that day so we could get additional ones after using just 3 instead of 6. It locks us into the park until the purchased ones are used, but I blocked them out back to back, so we still could leave the park mid-afternoon if we want to. Again, have fun both booking your FP+s and on your subsequent trip!

My family is 11 days from our trip to WDW. We are staying at the Poly CL. My husband does not know we are staying CL, it’s a suprise. I want add to the suprise by including a parasailing trip from the Comtemporary. In the past he has expressed an interest. So my question is do you all have any opinions or reviews of the parasailing at WDW? Thanks in adnvance.

My husband and daughter did the parasailing from the Contemporary and Loved it!!!!!!

Thanks for the input. I hadn’t considered storms in August, so I think we may actually cover all our bases by doing one pool-resort and one non-pool-resort per trip (BC/WL and then Poly/BWI).

We did an adults early November trip this past year. It was the first weekend in November and also F&W run weekend. During the day/not in shade, I was hot. In the shade and nights I was chilly. My kids totally would have swam, me, I’m the one under towels and an umbrella in August.

Enjoy your trips!

@DLgal just wanted to confirm what @GADisneyDad14 said....
Definitely no bathroom in the lounge - or anywhere else for that matter!

You’d have to go to the 4th floor.

I have found that this year (at least during the time we have to go) the military rate availability for the CR is astonishingly low. I always had a bit of a hard time getting a Tower Club Room but this year it didn’t even show any availability anywhere in the Tower. That has never happened before. I had to pull some major strings (and some favors) to even be able to get our room there.

I really am fairly certain that they will move you / accommodate you should you ask for a room change :)

Welcome to the Dis :welcome:.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions as there are some very knowledgeable posters on this thread who are always willing to help :).

I agree. Winter weather is unpredictable and changes so often that it's hard to say whether or not it will be swimming weather ;).

I think that's a great plan :thumbsup2.

Thanks for all the help yesterday! I just set up my fast passes and the CM was so hepful. I am a little bummed though...TSMM was not available my week. Debating if I should
1- skip DHS, take a midweek pool day and visit MK again on last day (last day was originally a pool day at YC to relax, enjoy resort and Boardwalk area) This will be a Sat and I my thought process was to avoid the higher crowd parks on the weekend
2-make a half day with AK (do FOP again) or half day at MK (utilizing CL FP)

Sorry if I am posting this on the wrong thread. If I am can you please help direct me. I am still pretty new.

CurIOUs did CM give any reason or confirm that TSMM will be closed during your time there??

I’m in same boat as you. I have two days at HS planned on our upcoming trip in April but don’t know if I really need two days there if TSMM is down

So many decisions... glad everything went well!!

Sorry I didn’t answer your original question. Not sure of your group but there is still Star tours, TOT, RNR, and all the shows.... don’t know if you should skip completely

2- AK again with FOP. You'll want to do it again, no doubt.

We are also bummed about no TSMM, but the extra FPs helped with planning. We are using regular FPs for DHS one day (RNR, TOT, ST) and then extras (RNR, TOT with F! Seating) another night with the other extra and regulars being used at another park that morning. These extras completely helped with planning and if by chance TSMM becomes available I have a plan to switch some FPs around.
