Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Update for the AKL CL breakfast: for a few days, there's been corned beef hash on the buffet. It's the same than the one you can eat at Boma's.

It's actually very good, and it is a nice addition to have a hot dish for breakfast!
As always when there's a change, not sure it will last…

Thanks for the update. Hope you're having a great time :wizard:.

I am disappointed, was really hoping to do WL CL in April but it is all booked up. We were doing a split stay, 5 nights WL and 4 nights BC. The CL is available for BC. Non-CL is available at WL.

I took a pic of the cute yard/garden of one on my last bwi stay.

You get cl access. The rooms entrances are on the 1st floor with door here in the garden area . You need to walk outside and up the stairs and then elevator to 4th floor for lounges.

Upstairs king bed and full bathroom/large. Downstairs has a 1/2 bath and wet bar plus seating and tv. I love those cute gardens. There is at least 1 (not many)that don't have the garden but a 2nd floor balcony off the bedroom. Check on bwi thread . I haven't stayed in one and I just wanted too.

Thanks!

Just to add to the above, I haven't stayed in one but they are super cute from the outside. It seemed as though the gardens were all a bit different. If you are at one towards the end (that wouldn't make sense unless you see them) There's a hidden staircase in the corner. That is much faster than walking all of the way back to the elevator but you do have to climb 4 sets of stairs sooooo
Thanks for the info!

My Dh and I stayed in one over marathon weekend in 2017. The one we stayed in did not have the gated garden in front, but had a balcony on the second floor--only 3 of them are like that and I had requested it. :)
The quiet pool was right outside the room, which was really nice to be able to do a quick soak in the hot tub. We didn't find the walk to the lounge to be too much of an inconvenience.
Thanks!!

Yeah, that's the one problem with the removal of all that CL inventory for DVC. With only 24ish standard CL rooms now, that's a very small inventory available for booking, relatively speaking.

Now that the resort is pretty much done with construction and we return to normal booking demand patterns, I suspect this will be a common challenge for WL CL guests.

Keep trying though, you never know what may pop up. Good luck.

Thanks, definitely appreciate that. I was just a little slow to pull the trigger. There was availability a couple of weeks ago but I wanted to see what the flights were like and SWA just released the schedule today. We love the look of WL so we will have a great time regardless. Kids were a little spoiled with AKL CL our last trip, lol.

That is one of our favorite dishes at Boma. That is great.

BTW, I get a little chuckle every time I see your username in the notifications.... "no one quoted your post" "no one liked your post" :rotfl:

As to WL, you learned a valuable CL lesson... book now, figure out flights later! :goodvibes

Just got back from a quick (3 night) trip to BC. Overall, we liked the resort a lot. For the few notes below, as a comparison, this year we have stayed at the WL, CR, and AKL club levels.

I'm sure I will forget a lot but here are a few random things:

- Turndown is now by request only. I had a long chat with a CL CM who said they ended it, started it again, and just now decided to do by request only. So I requested it and we got it nightly. But no chocolates.

- Great location but my kids missed being close to MK. But I took advantage and walked to DHS during the kids afternoon naps (thanks to my wife being willing to watch the kids nap).

- The CL CMs were nice. No problems. Not as friendly as the WL CMs overall but nice. All of them seemed happy and all smiles. Not many would engage you in a conversation, but were always super pleasant.

- We had a pool view room and I could not believe how bright the pool lights were at night. I don't usually mind a non dark room but wow those lights were bright. We were in 5717. The walk to that room from the elevators (and lounge) is far.

- the room was ready before noon on arrival day, which was awesome. The housekeeping cleaned the room before noon each day which is also awesome with kids who nap 1-3 (or when housekeeping usually comes in).

- lounge food. Below average club level food. Breakfast is standard CL fare (fruit, bread, bagels, oatmeal, etc). Lunch was standard snack stuff and nothing of substance. I did enjoy the stormalong breeze (I think that is what it was called) drink but it was only out 2 days and only at lunch. Dinner was eh. No chef and no small plates. Chicken nuggets, mac and cheese bites. One night there was salmon and lentils that was good. But it was nothing like AKL (at least as it was in may) with the small plates. And I don't like lounges that close between "meals" and this one does. But the best thing about the lounge: sangria!

- the pool is totally awesome. Not CL relevant but my kids (5 and 3) loved loved loved it. Was always busy but is big enough that it didn't ever seem crowded.

- no bottled water in rooms or in club (or available from CMs like some CLs). One of my first questions upon check in is about the water bottle situation (e.g., do they offer it) since some CLs have them out (WL), and some only if you ask (CR and AKL). But none at BC.

- also not CL relevant, but the food choices are minimal. We loved Beaches & Cream (reservations are tough to get), but BC lacks a good QS option.

So we liked it and had a great trip. But it's not the best CL...

Lol, I never thought of that with my name before! That is awesome. When I joined in 2015 the trailer for Star Wars was just released and Rey is shown answering to the question "who are you?" and she says "no one". But now this gives me a whole new weapon for posts I dont like, lol.

I'm sorry nothing was available for CL, but keep trying as people cancel/change plans all the time so something might become available :).

Thanks! This is our last day at the AKL, we had a very lovely stay indeed! We're going to miss the helpful CM here at the lounge, the chefs, and of course the mimosas!

You're welcome! Glad you had a great time :goodvibes.

I agree ;).

Yikes! That may also mean no discounts?!!

Can anyone give me some insight on the Garden Suites at BWI? I have a long weekend booked in October in one and just curious. Thanks

We stayed in Garden Suite 1201 (which I had requested since it's closest to the stairs). PP gave you a good description of the layout (downstairs seating area with a sectional, wet bar with a little fridge, desk, TV, and 1/2 bath; upstairs king bed and large bathroom). The pictures on Disney's website really don't do the room justice. There's pretty art work throughout, nice furniture, and the bathroom finishes are lovely.

As another PP mentioned, there is a "secret staircase" in the alcove next to Room 1201 where the ice machine is (I'll post a pic of 1201 below- you can see part of the alcove on the left hand side). It's not the nicest staircase, but it gave us quick access to the lounge on the 4th floor. We were also close to the quiet pool.

DH and I are picky when it comes to hotels for our kid-free weekends away, but the Garden Suite really delivered. We've been thinking about changing our vacation plans for this year so that we can stay at BWI in a Garden Suite again!

The only annoyance was getting from the Garden Suite to the front of the hotel. It's not a direct route, but given how beautiful and quiet the Garden Suite area is, it was a fine tradeoff.

I don't remember that in the trailer but I thought you had to be a big Game of Thrones fan. It's used in the similar context in case you don't watch the show.

My DH and I received a free upgrade from a BWI standard view room to a cottage suite back in January 2014 (yes, I'm aware that's a huge upgrade and it's something I never expected). I agree, they are lovely. We were in 1204. We can't afford that level of room, so it was a real treat! Glad you had a good time!

(And I didn't know about that secret staircase...shoot!)

Oh I am a huge GOT fan, Sunday night was insane. In the trailer it was the very last scene, I think it stuck out because there was no other conversation in the trailer. Of course now everyone thinks I am a jerk when I like their posts, lol.
