WL CL breakfast back from our February trip. Carb-loaded beause I had to drive back to Miami and go to work that same day... the one downside to long weekend trips!

Featured: sesame bagel (these are totally fluffy and bready, no dry crumbly supermarket bagels here!), croissant, cinna roll, bran muffs, and steel-cut oatmeal with pecans and maple syrup. OJ and Perrier, too. (I drank twice my weight in Perrier this trip.) Not featured: this tavern-style ham my parents loved, hard-boiled eggs, fruit and whatnot.
Just returned from RPC for Easter weekend... it was AMAZING!
As background ... we were there last Easter (during the height of cost cutting phase) and thought we would never go back. We got a great deal last fall and returned ... it was much improved then, but it is awesome now.
The food offerings continue to get better and better -- they had a chef two of the three nights. They had the best beef bourguignon I have had in my life. Things that had been scaled back have returned/or tweaked to be even better -- the staff is noticeably friendlier (indifferent last year), they brought by chocolates to the room, the amenities were back, bottled water was available etc. etc.
What I found most impressive was, the manager was present and engaging with guests ... obviously a huge property but we saw him at least 3 times helping guests with questions (or their luggage!) during our short stay.
Given I was a bit critical/disappointed last year, wanted to update my opinion to a huge thumbs up!

And finally, GF SL desserts. I will say they put out A LOT of desserts. The variety is somewhat staggering. But some of them are somewhat basic Disney desserts that you see in other places. Nothing really to complain about though, plenty for your sweet tooth.

More GF SL.... these were evening apps. Again, sort of hard to get any pics here because the lounge was usually pretty crowded.
Chicken skewers, pork belly, not sure what the small plate was.

Standard cheese display out every night.

Choices usually involved 1-2 hot/main entrees and a variety of small plates. Decent variety overall. Again, sorry I don't have better pics.

Sorry I couldn't really get the little food signs.

Pretty good stuff for the most part, although not as flavorful as it looks, for my pallet at least! The beef skewer, despite being under a heat lamp, was more room temp than hot. None of the "hot apps" were particularly hot for that matter, but that's pretty minor.

Overall, I thought the food was good, but not quite as good as what I had at WL in November and even my one night at BC last summer. In some ways I liked the new/improved Poly evening offerings a bit better than this (I know that's probably blasphemous to say) - they seemed fresher and more flavorful. BUT, don't get me wrong - we did enjoy the food.
Are the waffles in GF SL CL?
10 days until we have our one night BWI CL stay - what can we expect for the evening offerings?
We were there a couple weeks ago and they have a chef preparing food in the evenings in the lounge (as well as making omelettes to order on Sunday AM with a bloody mary bar). One night was shrimp spring rolls with peanut sesame sauce while the chef made steak tacos with fresh pico de gallo and guacamole (it was really more of a tostada). Another night it was chicken and (mickey) waffles with a spicy maple syrup. It was all incredibly yummy! They also had cheese fondue each night. I hope you have a great trip!
I talked with the CM handing out the waffles this morning in SL CL, and he said he is making them every Monday for the lounge. I gave very positive feedback to him, as did several other people.
Just got back from the CR CL(Atrium) and I can definitely say the GF SL definitely is ahead of of CR on food options based on my 6 days. I will give a longer post when I get more time.
I think I am going on a diet till next Tuesday!
I know right? That was one on the main reasons for the March trip!Sounds fabulous! I'm excited - our only main goals for this trip are to visit F&G and to see Wishes one last time - so we plan to be at the resort for all of the offerings possible in the 36 hours we are there! Lol!
Wow that is so different from when we were at the BWI last. It sounds great. We always love the BWI for the CMs, so this will make it even better. We had a great split-stay between AKL CL and GF SL! At the airport now headed home. I will have pictures and thoughts to post in the next few days. Highlights that stand out to me right now as I sit here and reflect are:
> AKL CL was a much better experience than I was thinking it would be! Can't wait to tell you guys all about it.
> GF SL took me a few days to warm up to. I think because RPC set the bar so high! My DH and both girls LOVED it! I, however, didn't totally feel the love but I'd book it again if RPC isn't in the cards. It's hard to beat the convenience of the SL location!!
Much more coming in the next few days!
