Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Hello everyone!!!! :D

Sorry I've been MIA, it's a crazy time of year for me. But I wanted to let everyone know I'll be reporting live from the AKL CL March 19-27 for eight nights of detailed food, lounge, resort info and I'll be sure to take photos of the kid friendly food options and any kid seating areas that may or may not be there. We haven't been to the AKL since 2014 and I know a lot has changed since then. But don't worry, I'll give you so much information you'll be sick of me! :rotfl2:

TheFloatingBear- I think I saw that you are going in April. We aren't there again until the end of May. Would you care to report back on the evening offerings and what your kids liked? Also, we like to request a room down the hall a bit so that we are closer to Mara and the pool. It is a little bit of a walk to the lobby, lounge and the bus stop but we don't mind the walk.

Can anyone at AKL CL tell me if they have cinnamon buns or chocolate chip muffins in the breakfast time at lounge?

Hi club level experts :)! We are thrilled so far with our AKL club level stay. Wish I could stay for years instead of days...

Does anyone know, with a DVC club level booking at AKL, what toiletries we are supposed to get? We don't even have lotion which seems odd.

You should have shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, face soap and body soap. Just ask a CM if the cart is in the hall otherwise you won't see them again until day 4.

That will be so great, thank you! Appreciate the answers on the breakfast items from the other posters too. Sounds like it's easy to find breakfast for anyone, but picky eaters may not like as much appetizers time. Which is fine, and on the upside, cool for those with adventurous pallettes. Looking forward to your trip!

Awesome! Can't wait to read your report!

Not a thing ;)! Last night was our first night- they had a spicy stew, a spicy meat thing, blue/Manchego cheeses with crackers, a salad on a spoon, green beans...that's as much as I recall. Kiddo had nuggets from Mara.

I wonder if it would do any good if we all took a minute to write to guest services. Just a little note that says we miss having a selection for our kids at AKL club level in the evening. The Club Level CMs don't seem to care other than to suggest African Stew but sending a message to the general Disney guest services may make a difference.

Thanks for checking in. Glad you are enjoying AKL CL :goodvibes.

That's a good idea. It can't hurt ;).

Sorry - I missed this before! Yes, we're there 4/17-22. I will definitely report back! But after reading @pangyal 's post, I'm not very optimistic about there being stuff the kids like. I not really worried about it, except if DH is frustrated by it - he's kind of a "value" guy, so that's the kind of thing that would aggravate him. We've stayed CL twice before for short stays (the second time was a *magical* upgrade), and there were lots of things that the kids would eat, so if we're buying stuff from Mara (not for dinner/meals, but snacks, etc.), he'll feel that's not a good "value".

So, that is the Zebra trail, correct? I was thinking that, just looking at the map, that it might be good to be on that side but I didn't know what the advantages/disadvantages were over the other side. Can you request being further down the hall online, or do you call? Thanks!

Absolutely!!! Lol
There is also desserts and gummy bears! (My children use to call CL the gummy bear room! Lol) I really think I'm repeating but the breakfast offerings are the best! The fridge has soda, Minute Maid apple juice, nestle chocolate milk, whole milk cartons, dannon light and fit yogurt, silk soy milk and there is jungle juice, water and tea or lemonade in pitcher (carafes....idk the proper term)

That sounds great! My kids love gummy bears, so they can feast on those!

I agree. I don't know how closely in touch the IPO staff that respond to the emails are with the day-to-day operation of the lounge, but I did think it was inadequate to respond to my concerns (both times) by insisting that they would like the new offerings and not really offering an alternative, which is what I asked. It just seemed a little "out of touch" to say twice that "it's a big hit", when perhaps that is not the case. Of course, the lounge offerings aren't supposed to be meal replacements, but one hopes that there's enough there that there's something for everyone. Based on past experiences, I wasn't expecting to have to purchase quick service food to bring in while DH and I had an adult beverage and a snack in the afternoon. Despite my rambling, we will make the best out of what's offered - I'm looking forward to the more unique options myself - and I can't wait to get there!

That's fantastic - thanks! By then I'll be in countdown mode! Have a great trip!

I gave birth to the pickiest eater on the planet so I know all too well how that goes! ::yes:: He doesn't eat candy, gummy bears, vegetables, fruit, crackers, stews, soups, bread, salads, cheese, or anything even remotely adventurous. He'll eat the chocolate chip muffins on the mornings they offer them, and at night he'll maybe eat a very plain item like steak on a stick (if it doesn't look like the wrong color, texture, smell, etc) That's why we always have to have a sit-down dinner reservation every night. So he can get his plain steak and plain fries. I pity the woman he marries! :rotfl:

That's a great attitude to have! I'm sure you'll have a great time :goodvibes.

I'm sure we will, thanks! - the kids are beside themselves with excitement about staying there! And my theory is, they will keep any complaining to themselves if they want the CL gravy train to keep going! There will definitely be a pre-trip pep talk!

Hi Erika - is there someplace where I can see a list of your previous reports? I saw your GF SL report from December (I believe) which was great. But, I was wondering if you have additional GF SL reports from the past that I could look at. Thanks!!!

Hi everyone! I'm trying to plan a return trip in August can't decide between poly CL or GF CL can any share some recent food offerings in the lounges? TIA

I have stayed at both a few times in the last 2 years.

Poly has the same quality of food and drinks it is just GF offers more. Especially for the mid day snack. (tea time is amazing and they have veggies too)

For view Poly wins hands down! For lounge space Poly and RPC kind of tied and SL last.

I have had a great trip at all the mono resort cl's. For summer I prefer Poly. You tend to use the lounge for snacks more if you are pool people. However, Sl is close to the courtyard pool and also convenient. Not as good tho if you will be at the beach pool.

I go in circles deciding which is best:rolleyes1. For summer, poly has view, lounge and convenient location. Less food than gf but enough.

SL has more food but you sacrifice the fun of a great looking lounge and view. RPC has interesting space but not as convenient to pools.

Good luck deciding

I married one of those guys LOL...meal time is easy for him (boring but easy) Erika, I cannot wait for your TR!! Even though I changed from AKL CL ;)

Best.summary.ever! (I love how SL and Poly CL are next to a pool) Since I had a hard time choosing Poly or SL maybe that's why I'm at BWI :) I can't wait for summer, I miss the strolling on the BW and the walk to EPCOT. Hubby and kids are jazzed. Almost DL time for you my friend ;)
