Funny I currently have stays at those very hotels booked
GF- TODAY. Super excited!
BWI- November, adults only weekend.
Poly- family trip before kiddo turns 3 in May.
Great minds think alike!

Just back from AKL CL and I am still mulling over how wonderful the vacation was!!
Love AKL and ESPECIALLY love CL. Thanks to this stay I will ALWAYS want to stay CL. Special thanks go to CL staff: Mike, Sam, Teani, Karen and Alissa. Everyone was wonderful but these people were the reason that everything went so well
1. Food was wonderful in the lounge. Dietary requests were met (I had PLAIN yogurt available every AM) and was able to give my grandkids a good breakfast every morning.
2. Fastpass+ was great and we were able to get 4th FPs with no issues by just asking.
3.Room was a little hike from the lounge but good exercise.
4. Thought bus service was inadequate; this is our only source of transport anywhere and thought that busses took too long both coming and going.
5. Underwhelmed by housekeeping: no towel animals, no room freshening at turndown (we took showers before dinner and our towels/ bath mats were seldom replaced). Perfectly adequate but just OK.
6. The staff were wonderful to all kids; my grandkids loved all the activities that gave them a bead.Great education with a nice reward.
7. Would I return? ONLY for CL!!!

I'm glad you had a great vacation. AKL CL is a family favorite over here. We love the lounge and the food up there. Sorry about the housekeeping - I keep reading complaints about it at every level of WDW hotel and it's just sad. Oh, and they stopped the towel animals everywhere, so housekeeping isn't allowed to leave them.

Thank you for posting about your trip! One question -- you mentioned being able to easily get 4th FP's. Was this via texting service? I had not heard that AKL CL had that service for 4th FP. It was a great service, wasn't it?!

There are TV's in Victoria Falls. That might be an option.

I am pretty sure I have read that you have access to club lounge, resort pools, etc all day on the day of checkout but wanted to confirm. We don't need to leave for the airport until around 7:30pm. Thanks

So this will be our first CL stay ever (and our first deluxe stay for that matter). I read the beginning of this thread but want to know if there is anything I should take advantage of being staying CL. We will be on the regular dining plan have our ADRs booked already and we are there during marathon weekend. Any tips for a first timer?

The discount came out this morning but my TA tried to apply it to my reservation but her site didn't show CL as available.. I looked online and it didn't show either BUT!!! when I called, the CM was able to apply it.

Weird but when she called, she was then able to apply the discount

So the discount came out this morning and I was able to speak to a cast member with only a two minute wait. We were planning on a club level split stay with the Poly from 2-23-16 till 2-26-16 and then the BWI from 2-26-16 till 3-3-16. Poly had no availability for lagoon view for my dates but did have theme park view. The rack price was $958 per night and the discount price was $808.31 per night (weekday nights). The BWI standard club was $711 per night rack rate and $620 per night with the discount. A change for 2016 from past years is they only allow a three day courtesy hold instead of the week hold from the past. Do these prices sound decent to everyone as far as discounts go? We are AP holders as well but I'm afraid if I wait for those to come out there won't be any availability on the rooms that we want. We love staying club and have since the mid 90's but at these prices I don't know how much longer that will last. My husband wanted to try the Poly since that and the Beach club are the only CL that we have not stayed at. I love the BWI CL but was surprised that the Deluxe rooms were fully booked for our stay dates. I totally understand for F&W festival time but the end of Feb. was a bit of a surprise.

I think the prices are outrageous, but they sell those rooms, so people are still buying. I would not wait; last year I waited on CR and I got shut out in January! There was nothing left once the discounts came out.

A lot of TA's were complaining this morning that they couldn't get any discounts applied at the usual early morning hours. Most were having better luck by about 7:00 AM or later. But the phone lines have been brutal all day.

I wouldn't hold out for AP rates, by the time they come out availability is crap.

There are lots of benefits to staying CL. I've got a list on page 1 plus you can read further into this thread to hear about other DISers experiences on CL. Which resort will you be staying at? Some of them are offering texting service and help with additional fastpasses, so that's a nice bonus too.
