Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Maybe you should take another look at AP? I agree that the room discounts aren't great, but our ticket prices have averaged about $25 per day because of the APs, but we have been more than twice per year. But we have found that two trips a year (or more) makes AP worth it because regular ticket prices have gone up so much! Plus, if you like the restaurants at Disney, TIW can save you even more money!
We take short trips, three to four nights. Therefore, if we only go one time per year we lost money on the AP. Twice makes it a better deal but with my husband's work (he's an ER doc) it's almost impossible to book anything far out and i need flexibility. Back when APs were cheaper it was better but at around $1400 for two adults I can get two 3 day hoppers for the two of us for two visits.

Help me decide! I am looking at my trip for next May- a week long trip to celebrate my husband and I's anniversary and our will be 3 year old's bday! :) I want a good pool- splash pad. We are staying GF RPC in October (maybe I should decide where to stay after that... But I am obsessed.) So, we are staying 4 nights at GF in October. For May our options are in terms of price, all are club level choices- Poly, garden view. This is the lowest of the MK resort Club level options available to me. (I'm not considering WL due to construction.) Poly Lagoon view, about $400 more. Contemporary Atrium club- $200 more than base price. GF SL- $200 more or GF deluxe king main bldg, $1,100 more (the king is $200 more than standard RPC, and I would pay the $200 for the larger space & king bed.)

So, what would you pick? Splash pads are important as well as zero entry pools. I also have celiac- so I want a club level that will do best for that for me. best options for breakfast, snack and dinner apps that are gluten free.)
(One concern I have with poly is that recently someone stayed and all the afternoon snacks were those filled with gluten. They didn't have chips that other resorts had, so would there be anything offered or provided that I could have. I would also like a property that does some cheese & meats in the morning, so I can eat something GF...)
THANKS! :tink:

I think the Poly would be nice for you guys. :) They just built a really awesome splash area, it's close to MK, and it will give you a different vibe from the GF. I like to rotate around and don't usually stay at the same resort back to back trips. Just to make things different. But I would make sure all the construction is done first. I've been avoiding it the last two years because I want to wait until the whole transformation is complete. :)
I'm also a HUGE Beach Club fan. You really can't beat their pool area, and May is great pool time!

I thought that didn't work anymore with the new policy for changing reservations....it was my understanding that you could not just convert an existing reservation anymore, that it had to be rebooked, and only if there was availability...

Maybe Ericka and any other TAs here could clarify and straighten me out if I don't have it right.
I have done it 4 times this year.. Last month included.

My reservation number stays the same unless I swap hotels (which happens if I get a better deal at another resort)

I think the Poly would be a good choice. I don't have any experience with needing special foods, but from what I understand, you can talk to the chef about having GF foods prepared :).

In my personal opinion I'd definitely take two rooms at GF SL at Christmas over a deluxe room at BWI. More space, two bathrooms, more privacy, much better Christmas decorations in my opinion, love the huge lobby tree, love the gingerbread house, and it's so much easier to get to and from MK. We spent a TON of time at MK last Christmas and I heard people complaining about the transportation being slow from the Epcot resorts. When you're staying at an MK resort you can get to MVMCP so easily, and we love to see holiday wishes as many times as we can. :)

This was a struggle, but ultimately I did change back to BWI. I agree the GF has it when it comes to the decorations, but I am saving a ton and the kids want BWI. Why do they get to pick LOL... My kids aren't MVMCP people (long story). So we will be mostly in the Epcot area. DH promises I will get there one day, and I will hold him to it. In fact I am eyeing it up for Summer ;) Last summer we spent most of our time at MK when we are at BC, ahhh BC...too bad BC CL is more than SL, not much more but enough...

What does everyone think of FERRYtale Wishes???? $99 a pop seems pretty expensive to eat some snacks on the ferry boat.
It sounds nice until you hit "add to cart" and then YIKES! :) You can get a private boat and order desserts for less I think.

I was just removing all the past stays from our guest list on page 1 and I think I just accidentally deleted someone who wasn't past their date. So check and see if I have you listed and if not PM me! :D

I think it's me. And all my changes :) December 12-15th BWI Deluxe Room

Finally finished my GF SL report if anyone's interested in reading: https://erika_murphy.silvrback.com/
And if you missed my BC CL report it's just below it. :)
Great blog! And great reports, sick kids and all you still had a great trip!!!

This will be our first trip staying at the BC without CL. Oh please tell me we will survive :rotfl: I call every couple of days to see if there are openings, but no one wants to cancel at this point.

Speaking as a CL Gal who has taken non-CL trips to the BC/YC, yes you will survive! It helps if you either stock the fridge with some treats or scope out beforehand the places that sell snacks that you might like, so if you do miss the lounge you can make a mini-lounge in your room. ;)

I agree! We don't stay CL every trip and even though we do enjoy our CL stays, we have just as great of a time on our non-CL trips :). With that said, you can always keep checking for CL as availability can/does change.

That is a great idea! We may pop over to Shades of Green and stock up on drinks/snacks for our mini fridge. Maybe I should pack a plastic wine glass:thumbsup2

Keep trying, we scored CL the night before we left. And they waived the change fee since we spent more $$ which I appreciated. If not, you WILL have an awesome time. F&W snacks beat the "snack room" *my kiddos call it that :)

Don't forget about the Grey Goose slushie in France and the Sunken treasure at SAB! Also, when I was there in June, a guy next to me at SAB got a mango margarita that he said was fantastic:)
