After talking it over with our gracious host, Mickeystoontown, we decided that the CBR Beach Bum Roll Call deserves it's own thread. We didn't want to bog down this thread with dates as some people's questions might get lost. So I have started a new Thread here.

http://disboards.com/threads/the-official-2015-cbr-beach-bum-roll-call-thread.3410295/

I have copied the current Roll Call over. So please check out the new Thread and post IN THE NEW THREAD if I've missed anyone.

Thanks so much for starting the new thread! I'll go post the link on the first two pages.

I booked a standard room on a bounce back. Should I only put 45 (Jamaica) as my request? It doesn't matter which floor. This is my first stay here and I previously stayed at POFQ and I would fax my request about 5 days out. I have read on here that is not an option for CBR right? Should I also put 51 as a request so that I could hopefully get one of my requests?

Also, do you suggest lower floor or upper floor. I don't mind stairs, but I do not like a lot of traffic outside my door either. So I guess I prefer upper floor.

Jamaica upper floor would be my request right now.

Any help is appreciated.

Dansdad and Mickeytoonstown - you are both GREAT !

We just got back and stayed ground level in 46. I never noticed much of any "traffic" anywhere in this resort outside the pool and OPR. I don't think you need to worry about that at ground level.

And FWIW if you don't get the building you request ask at check in if they can get you any closer. We were in 41 despite requesting 45 and they were able to move us to 46 which was more convenient IMO.

ONe more week. I can't believe it. I can't believe we are going again! When I planned our first trip, my husband said "nobody needs to go more than once" and we could take the kids once, but that's it. By the end of that trip he said "OK, well, nobody needs to go more than once every two years." But this time?!? It's only been EIGHT MONTHS! Eek! I think it's safe to say, I have won him over!!!

After going to DL in 2014 and DW this past January I told DS not to get used to going every year becuase we can't do it, and now I am surprising him with a trip next month!!! HAHAHA not sure who likes Disney more now, him or me?!?!

does anyone know what the little coffee bag thingys are called that they leave for the coffee makers? They never leave enough for me so I was going to try order some online and take them with me but every time I google them I keep getting K cups ( which is not what I want ) ! I know they must be called something..ty

I'm sure if you left a note (and a nice tip) for mousekeeping, they will leave more coffee pods.

Anyway...if you want to order your own:

Oh believe me last year I tried..I was even leaving a $10 tip every day which I thought was enough...wrote notes every day..on the third day I even asked the maid nicely...she still never left more than two per day. I have a confession that may be frowned upon though..3rd last day I was walking past the housekeeping cart and what do you know...some accidentally fell into my bag...whoda thunk it..LOL We rationed the contraband for the last 3 days lol I felt like a Mexican Drug Lord smuggling my 6 stolen pods back to the room..lol heres the kicker though...talk about Karma...the last day we had two pods left for hubby and I...he put the coffee on...the smell was amazing. We go to drink it and he had forgot to put the coffee cups in the dang machine!!! it had ran out and down the sink! we had a good laugh about it. I guess thats what we get !! lol this year Im probably best just bringing my own hehe

We are planning our first trip for the fall. So excited! Waterview room with FD Oct 30-Nov5. When and how do you make your room requests? I didn't notice it when I made the reservations. I was thinking I wanted to request Jamaica 45, Aruba 51 or Martinique 21, 22, or 23 (since that was recommended :) Also can you request all of those or are your odds better if you just put down one building? Thank you!

Anyone have a murphy bed room they'd reco for building 26? (I'm doing the touring plans room request feature)

I think that your post got lost amongst others that were posted. Water view rooms are located all over the resort in every village. I wonder if there's any way that you can call and see if you can change your room category to a preferred location? If not, will you have a wheelchair or scooter for the child? I would suggest that you request a non-preferred room in the village of Martinique. Your room would already be on the same side of the resort as Old Port Royale (the food court, main pool, etc.)
I thought all the rooms in Martinique were preferred no?

Just an FYI for your next trip and for others. When we first get to our room, I call housekeeping and ask them to bring us extra pods for the next morning and to make a note that we would like extra pods when they do our room every day. Since doing this, we have 6-8 pods by the machine every day. Even if we still have a couple left from the morning, they always leave a bunch extra. Usually on the 3rd to last day I have to call housekeeping again and tell them we don't need the extras any more. I have found this works so much better than asking the housekeepers themselves. I believe when you call it gets put on their daily sheet and then they will get dinged if they don't do it.

Are the pirate rooms being refurbished? I read online there were permits to do them. We just booked a pirate room for the first week of November and wondering if we're going to be staying there when refurbishments are going on... or if they'll be done...??
