We just got back from our Dec 17-25 stay at CBR! My one and only room request was for a refurbished room and we got it! And a corner room too in building 43 Jamaica! It was so wonderful staying there and the queen beds were excellent!!! It was a bit of a hike to the food court but the views made up for it! We had a car rental and would stop at the food court as we came from and left for the parks! Loved it!!
Thanks to all who contribute to this thread and all there great info shared here!!!!:lovestruc

I booked a 4 night stay during SSW. It's been years since we've stayed at CBR. I'm looking forward to seeing how much has changed since then. Our last stay was before the pirate and Nemo rooms came to be. And I see from the introductory pictures the rooms have changed once again!

I was able to upgrade our reservation from AS Movies to CBR with the Room % off offer. I'm so excited about staying at this resort. I have been wanting to stay at this resort for awhile now and am looking forward to staying here for Star Wars Weekend.

I was originally booked at POR for our family of 5 until spring codes came out today and switched to CBR to save a bit. I have researched POR and was excited about staying there. Now I have read the first few pages here and am trying to get the same feeling about CBR as I had about POR. Can you all tell me what your favorite thing is about CBR? It looks like the feature pool is great, the refurb is obviously a plus, and from what I have read it sounds like it is fairly close to all of the parks. All great features, but is there ONE thing that is a major plus for any of you?

We love the Caribean Beach and we just upgraded with the discount that come out today to CB from AS Movies. Only offer for us was the Pirate Rooms (wish they had queen beds) but hey The grandkids will love it! So excited to be going back to CB. . .

Is the bus stop for Trinadad South the first or last stop or is it real random?

I was just coming on to ask the very same thing. For those who choose CBR, what is it you love most about this resort?

I still have my room at POR but could save over $500 if we switch to CBR. I think what freaks me out the most is how I hear all the time it's so huge and has so many bus stops it takes forever to use the bus transportation.

Going to read through the thread a bit but hoping someone can get me as excited about this resort so I can save some money!

Longtime visitor of CBR here - it's been a top pick for my family since it first opened! Just stayed in one of the refurbed rooms last week... WOW! Disney really, really got it right with this one. The room was lovely, but also incredibly functional. I was really impressed with how well the space has been utilized.

To answer the "One favorite thing" question is HARD! There truly isn't one thing for me, and I like all but POFQ of the Mods - I usually just book whichever one has the lowest rate. But if I have to pick one attribute - I suppose it's the quietness of CBR. I've never had a problem with noise there, and generally speaking the whole resort feels very relaxed and serene to me. :goodvibes

We have CBR booked for the first time and have never stayed at POR. But one thing that occurs to me is if you can really save that much money, you could always reserve that cash as "if the busses are horrible" taxi money. I know I was excited to book CBR based on the descriptions of it feeling peaceful and relaxing and like a vacation within a vacation. Good luck with your decision :-)

From our experience last week, Trinidad South was never the first stop, but it was sometimes the last stop. Trinidad South was the 4th stop if the bus came in the front gate (Martinique --> OPR --> Trinidad North --> Trinidad South). However, it was the very last stop if the bus came in through the side by Jamaica (Jamaica --> Aruba --> Barbados --> Martinique --> OPR --> Trinidad North --> Trinidad South). In our experience, buses seemed to start in Martinique more often, but it's probably random.

What did we love? It's hard to narrow it down! The pool is great, and having the option of the quiet pool in each village is good too (when we wanted our DS2 to swim as opposed to splash we took him to the quiet pool). I loved the food court, lots of options and the staff were friendly. Camp fire of an evening was great - toasted marshmellows!

We were a bit nervous about the buses, having read so much on here what a terrible service they were compared to other resorts but we found them to be very convenient. In two weeks I think we waited over 10 minutes only once, and I think that was coming back from either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach when the weather took an unforeseen turn for the worse.

Have an amazing time! Also, we stayed in Martinique pre-refurb and found the rooms to be great. Air con was a bit noisy, but we didn't feel like we needed it on all the time.

Quite honestly, it's hard to narrow down just one thing that we love/enjoy about the resort. It's definitely nice to schedule a "down" day or a "resort" day and spend time relaxing and unwinding after long days in the park. The whole vibe of the resort is laid back and relaxing.

Well you can take me off the role call. I was just able to nab a Royal Room over at POR with the new discount. :cool1::yay::dance3::woohoo: We'll have to give CBR a try another time.

We will check in at CBR in 17 days!!!! It will be our first stay there. Love CSR & POR ... can't wait to try this one! Our dates: January 15-23

Well after no success, you will need to remove us from role call. We appreciate all of the information, however when discounts became available, we had to move resorts to obtain one. We will keep checking for cancellations. We now will have to catch up CSR.

We have stayed at CBR twice and POR once. I think they are both pretty comparable size wise. We had a royal room at POR so we were pretty close to the main building for meals and the main bus stop. So, we were really lucky. However, our friends were there at the exact same time in Alligator Bayou and they were very unhappy with the size. They got a room in the back and therefore had a big hike every morning for breakfast. Also, since they were so far away, they had to use one of the smaller bus stops and had a long wait on several occasions (we never had an issue using the main stop)

We have stayed in Jamaica and the pirate rooms at CBR. During the stay where we were in the pirate rooms, we mostly drove to the parks. Therefore, we just stopped at OPR on our way to the parks for breakfast. We only rode the bus once to MK and didn't have an issue. It has been since 1998 when we stayed in Jamaica, but it was a great location. We had a short walk across the bridge for meals or the pool.

I personally love both resorts, but I think I would choose CBR simply for the theme. POR was beautiful, but not my theme. I prefer the beach theme, the beaches, and the hammocks for relaxing at CBR. I would think you would be happy at either resort....at least my family is :) Good luck!

Just booked a bounce back offer for CBR for July! It's been 23 years since we stayed there. I'm looking forward to seeing what it will be like after so long.

Just switched from POR to CBR for a total savings of nearly $400

Roll Call 5/31/2015 to 6/7/2015

REading through the tread I am very concerned about the bus situation. I have never stayed anywhere but POP prior to this and for the most part never really had an issue with the buses there other than a few times. Should I be considering a car rental this time? I have seen that car rental is cheaper from the airport than from the local disney rental places.

Thoughts?

EDIT

Also, what buildings should I be looking at requesting for best overall experience and short distances? We booked a standard room for 5 people. Myself 45, DW48, DS13, DD11, and DS7

we moved to CSR - what are your thoughts?

We have stayed at POR twice & CSR twice. CSR is my favorite out of the two. However, we stayed in a preferred room. So the complaints you hear about it being too spread out didn't apply to us. We were close to the food court & transportation. To me, CSR felt like more of a 'deluxe' resort.

From the online pics, the new refurbished rooms at CBR remind me of CSR. Hoping I will love it too. Have fun!!!
