Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Hi all!

Do you ever watch resort walk throughs on youtube? I just watched The Tim Tracker, who did one for Boardwalk- it was great, very detailed of all that's in and around the Boardwalk! Got me even more excited to stay here. Just a recommendation for anyone looking to pass time before their trip. :)

Off to find a nighttime walk through, if there is one.

I like David’s DVC and iThemepark. They are tours set to music. Very enjoyable. :)

So excited!!!!!!!!

We booked this morning for May 2020, Boardwalk Inn, Water/Boardwalk view!!!

We booked early, room only. We aren't doing a package this time. I know price will go up later, but thrilled to have it on the books. Besides, you never know how quick things might start booking up once Star Wars opens, and you can walk there from Boardwalk!

We normally stay across the water at Yacht/Beach, but I've always wanted a room on the Boardwalk and now we are doing it!

Yay! :jumping1:

Congrats on booking your first BWI stay. Had my first stay last June and I loved it. Hope you have a great time. Enjoy the rest of your planning :wizard:.

We leave a week from tonight. Driving from Boston. Check in to boardwalk on Saturday the 16th. First time staying here and cant wait!!

BWI is a lovely resort, hope you have a great time :).

We’re headed to this resort for the first time in July. Staying in a grand villa with the whole family! 7 adults and 5 kids! Should be fun super excited.

Sounds like a great trip! Hope everyone has a great time :goodvibes.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a boardwalk stay for an adults trip in September - yay! Gotta use the APs while we can. I read through the first page of posts and got some great info.

For those that have time and are so inclined, tell me, what is your favorite thing about boardwalk? Everyone has their fave resort so what makes BW yours? Thanks in advance!

I think BWI is a great resort for an adults only trip. Stayed at BWI for a girls trip last summer and it was great! Like sfbank, I love the atmosphere, along with having the boardwalk for entertainment or just walking around taking everything in. Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Wow, that guy is great, a very detailed report. I really did laugh out loud at some of his comments. Thanks for the tip. I like it when we see what they see, instead of them!

If you find any nighttime walk-throughs, post back! Thanks,

They have one for all the resorts, park events, etc and they are all funny like that, truly I laugh a lot! He and his wife do a lot together, Universal, all over Florida. He did one for Toy Story Land and it was great.

This is all I found for a night walk through:

(David's Vacation Club Rentals)

(iThemePark)

This is nice, it's just 20 minute of different shots, seems like a stationary camera, but not sure? It's called Ambiance:

enjoy! :)

Yay! We have stayed several times and there is a lot to love there! We really love the pool and the slide is the best. The Boardwalk at night is fun. There are magicians all along the boardwalk at night (not sure of the times) and we really like watching those. We grab a drink or quick bite and walk around for a bit. My DH really loves the music and whole Atlantic City vibe. Being right there at Epcot is great and we also love to walk over to the Swan for dinner at Il Molino. Have a great time!!

Location is certainly one of the big draws for us at the BWI but there are so many other little things to love. We have always stayed CL there so the CM are just the best, We also love being able to walk down the back stairs to the quite pool and hot tub, we seem to always have it to ourselves. The rocking chairs that look out over the lake is one of the more peaceful spots that we have found at Disney. It's also nice at night to get an ice cream at Ample Hills and stroll around the lake as we enjoy them, or stroll over to Beaches and Cream for an awesome ice cream sundae. The miniature golf course is only a short walk away behind the Swan and Dolphin. Take some time to enjoy the bussers that entertain people out on the boardwalk in the evenings. They are very talented and just as enjoyable for adults as it is for children. Lets not forget that there are a lot of wonderful places to eat just a short walk away as well. Can you tell I just love the BWI!?

I'm a little disappointed with the way the restaurants are going at the BoardWalk. We just canceled Flying Fish in favor of Ale & Compass. The prices at Flying Fish are just too painful to consider. Even though we can afford a splurge, I just don't understand how to get that much appreciation from eating a meal.

You can always swing by the Screen Door store to pickup your decaf coffee, it is on the corner of the BWV building on the boardwalk facing the boat dock.

Dave
Does the Screen Door have standard breakfast items like Milk, Cereal, Eggs, Bread, Juice, don't need that much ? Is it that much more expensive than grocery store prices? We have only stayed at BWV once before, DH and me in a studio,we were on DDP so didn't buy any groceries, this time staying in 1BR . Will be using DME, so won't have a car and don't think I want to get a grocery order together delivered as we will only be in 1 BR for 2 nights, then moving on to a Studio at OKW on DDP. Thanks for any info!

Funny, we are watching someone’s Boardwalk food blog, and DH said ‘we have to try Flying Fish!’ Looks like a beautiful restaurant!

Flying Fish is a must for us every trip. We're foodies and appreciate good seafood. It's a whole nother level from Ale and Compass. We were disappointed in Ale and Compass and will probably never go back. Having said that, everyone has their own preferences.

Yes. DVC members can have deliveries made to their rooms from the DVC hotel’s gift shop. Even if you don’t want or aren’t eligible for delivery, you can google the list. It will show prices.

I am not a big fan of sea food, but I love filet, so I’d most likely order that!!! The restaurant looks beautiful inside!! I heard great things about it. Maybe next summer since we already have our ADR’s for this trip!!!

Yes, the Screen Door has those items. DH and I often use that for the supplies we need. It costs more than it would at the grocery, but our time is worth that much. Also, the Screen Door tends to have smaller packages so there’s not as likely to be left overs (waste) when we leave.

We have eaten at both Ale and Compass and Flying Fish. In my opinion, there is no comparison! Flying Fish is so much better. The food is prepared way better and the flavors are amazing. We will be eating there twice on our next trip in just 4 days. We gave Ale and Compass three tries and we are now done!

THANK YOU! Don't plan on ordering large quantities, since it will only be two mornings, so this is perfect! Yes, prices higher than grocery store, but without a car, a very good alternative! Seems super convenient!
Thanks again for posting the list!:thanks::goodvibes

Thank you! Yes, a bit higher but makes good sense, smaller quantities and convenience since will only be two mornings, moving on to DDP in a studio!:goodvibes

We are supposed to check in at BWV on rented points early Wed morning from the northeast, and we are supposed to get a storm started Tuesday afternoon, and I’m afraid our flight might be cancelled. Does anyone have the front desk number for BWV, so I could call and alert them if this happens? TIA!

You will want to call WDW customer service main number if that happens. Hopefully they’ll be able to rebook you!

Although on rented points perhaps contact your rep today and ask what happens if you’re delayed or canceled. They’re pretty strict on no rebooking or refunds.
