Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Hi! Hoping for some advice on a BWV 1BR Standard View Room Request. I tried to make the request through Member Services but they told me there was no such room category. I now only have "high-floor" in my reservation. I had hoped to get the end of the building near the parking lot facing Epcot. Like 4115 or higher? What should I ask for? :confused3
Thanks in Advance

I don't know what Member Services didn't like - no such room category? Weird. Maybe you just got someone really new.

Anyhow, I'm pretty sure "high floor" and "far from elevator" will probably be about the closest you can come to your request. If you're sending it via email, you could just say "I'd like to get the end of the building, 4th or 5th floor, near the parking lot facing Epcot" and see if they have a problem with that.

Count me in!!
just booked. Just me and the misses!! may 2-6, 15th wedding anniversary!!

I don't suppose there's been any word on when in 2015 the Villas will be refurbished, is there?

Joining the thread. Just booked 9/21-9/27 2 bedroom Villa Let the countdown and planning begin!
Welcome! What a great time of year to be going and I'll log your dates in POST 1.

Counting the days until our return to BWI 6/30/15 through 7/3/15. Can't wait!
Yippee! I'll add your dates, too.

Hi! :) I am so excited to be going on my first Disney cruise for DH and my 25 anniversary trip!(Fantasy Oct 31-Nov 7) of course I can't visit FLORIDA without stopping at my favourite place in the world! I've booked us 4 days at WDW and decided to try BWI for the first time! I've always wanted to try this resort and thought this would be the perfect time since food and wine wil also be on during our stay. I've booked us a club level room at the Inn, dates are Nov 7-11. I would really love a boardwalk view from my room, and would prefer a room that is fairly central without any extra-long walks! Also we'd love a king bed room. I'm tired enough after walking in parks all day without a long walk to get to my room at the end of the day! Any particular way I should word my request when I email IPO as I've never stayed here before and am not sure of the layout.
Very much looking forward to my first stay!

Welcome to the thread, Marie! It's great that you're going for your anniversary and DCL, too. I hope DH is doing better.

I would just request a BoardWalk View if that is most important. There are very few CL BWV Kings, but you could send the IPO your request as "BWV and/or King bed." None of the CL rooms are very far from the lounge. The CL portion of the 4th floor is located at the end of BWI near the quiet pool and BW dining venues.

We're getting some family photos taken during our vacation and they'll probably be taken at the Boardwalk as that's where we're staying. I know my photographer will have some ideas on locations but if anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them so I can get an idea of what locations I'd like as well.

Thanks :goodvibes
Bumping your question.

Woohoo! Congratulations and what a great anniversary you're going to have. I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

Hi all! I have a few questions about the Resort!
My first choice was BC but that is not available for the nights I am going so here I am! Main reason I'm worried about BW is the noise! I am booking standard, but I don't wanna have a bad room with being above or around eitheR ESPN or BC. I know those aren't standard rooms, but still worried! Questions are

1) How are the noise levels for the rooms above and around the ESPN Club or Jellyrools?

2) the rooms do have a ceiling fan correct? I like my room cold and a fan will help!

3) if I book a standard. Is there good chance I cns get a King bed?

Thanks all.

Someone said the construction already began on the fifth floor, but no word on completion or a schedule or anything.

On the inn side, I don't think you'd have any problems with being near ESPN. Maybe you could end up being near the port Cochere (drive up entrance), and get that noise? You could request a king bed, quiet room. King beds in general are VERY hard to get at every Disney resort.

Regarding the fan, last time we requested a box fan for our room. We sleep with a box fan at home every night for the noise (much better than a white noise machine), and it was perfect for that and would be good for the temperature, too! We requested it from the desk at check in, the guy had to look for it on his list, but it was there, he put it in, and housekeeping delivered it about 20 minutes after we checked in. We're going to request that on all our stays from now on.

There's the obvious places -- the boardwalk itself, and the wedding place on the water. Then there's the village green area right outside the lobby on the boardwalk side.

For not so obvious, I think the cottages on the inn side have nice entrances that would give a great arch effect. On the Villa side, there's an area by the canal (around the corner from Jellyrolls) where we actually saw a wedding ceremony going on, and I'm sure there would be good picture places there for a family photo. Even the stairs that go from the front of the resort down to the boardwalk might be good. Good luck!

We just booked our first ever BWI in stay, for November 5-12. We plan to sign up for the Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon, and wanted something in the Epcot area. We have stayed at BC several times, and really like the area. We're excited to experience BWI, and appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this thread. Things came together quickly for us in the last 48 hours, and the first pages of this thread were very helpful to us.

Which photographer are you using? I am interested in this as well & have seen the Boardwalk used a lot. Pictures come out great but there are so many photographers! Would love to know who you are going to use. Thanks!

I don't recall a ceiling fan at BWI:scratchin, but the box fan suggestion is great. We used one at WL because the Deluxe room didn't have a ceiling fan, (but the standard rooms do).

Keep in mind that most of the Disney (non-bookable) King rooms are HA (Handicap Accessible) rooms, which aren't optimal for someone who doesn't have a physical need for one. They will assign un-requested HA King rooms to those who request a King.

I'm glad you've found the thread helpful and welcome! BWI is a fairly relaxed and quiet atmosphere which I think you'll enjoy. I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin:)

Booked a studio villa for Sept 1-7! It's been far too long. With any luck, it'll be a refurbished room. :)

We are cruising on the Disney Magic in May and we are going to be able to squeeze in one night after the cruise. We four adults myself, wife and two sons 18 & 27. I am looking at booking a night at the BWI (standard room) but I want to be sure that I have bed for everyone since the boys won't be thrilled in sharing a bed. I'm sure we will be assigned two queen beds but if we don't get a daybed also will I be able to request a roll away?

We just returned tonight from a week stay at the BWI CL and our room did have a ceiling fan in it. That was room number 4235.

Hi Kook :) Thanks for the welcome! I'm looking forward to finally staying at the BWI!!! perhaps I'll just request boardwalk view, as that leaves a better chance of getting what I really want, the king bed is not a must, as we could each take a queen if his snoring, or restless leg sydrome acts up, lol
DH is still off work, hard to believe it's been 2 years since the shooting on FEB 26! He has one more surgery to go through, but we are hoping he can get back to work soon in some capacity, even if it is modified duties... we are working on that! This trip for our anniversary was supposed to be just a cruise, but it's exploded into 2 weeks!!! Oct 31-Nov 7 is the Cruise on Disney's Fantasy - staying concierge level, then NOV 7-11 we are staying at BWI Club Level, then Nov 11-14 we are moving over to Universal Studios (Hard Rock Hotel/ Club level) -- DH has never been to universal, so it'll be fun to share this new experience with him.

Could you add my dates to the BWI Bulletin??? Nov 7-11 BWI CL

PS.... i'm wondering are the club rooms a long walk to the lobby, or bus area?

Thanks!

Poor DH, you guys really need this vacation. I can't believe it's been two years. I think your vacation sounds wonderful and I had already added your dates:)

It is quiet a long walk to the bus stop from CL. Once you get downstairs on the elevator, you have to go out to the front/side of the resort. CL is in the "back" of the resort, so it's pretty much as far away as you can get on the BWI side. The lobby is not that far at all once you get downstairs - maybe a one minute walk.

I'm really nervous about learning this new resort layout! it seems so complicated! Although the walks can't be any worse than some of the AKL walks, LOL :) hopefully once I'm there, it'll make sense and I won't find navigating the resort too hard!
