Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

so excited- we get to BWV on Friday! :cool1: First time staying there!
I've read that its quicker to walk to MGM-sorry HS- over the boat. If we want to be at rope drop what time should we leave BWV's for an 8am EMH opening? There will be a mix of ages-so not a super fast walk- just average. I want to make sure we get signed up for the Jedi Training and get on the rides we didnt get a FP for in those first 2 hours.
THANKS!

I am wondering this as well, we have a standard view studio as that was all that was available. I Love to have my coffee on the balcony in the am so I would like to know how to request a full balcony with anything other than a parking lot - roof view !

Any suggestions?

Thinking about staying at Boardwalk Inn and I would like to know if all standard rooms have a balcony?

We are only 32 days away from our first stay at the Boardwalk!! We have been reading the disboards all day, since we are stuck in the house with 32 inches of snow on the ground!! Florida weather looks great right now!

Ooh we are right behind you and will be glad to see the end of snow and I am just down the road from you in Ashland

Just booked a mother/daughter trip for August (split with BLT) and a F&W weekend in November!!! Not bad for not having any future trips in the works :-)

There are literally about two rooms in the who,e resort that don't have balconies. If you happened to get one of those rooms, I would immediately ask to be moved. So effectively, yes, pretty much all rooms have a balcony! :thumbsup2

It does depend on where you are in the resort. If you are over closer to the tennis courts, then it is even a shorter walk. The walk takes about 20 or more minutes for me, but I am never in a hurry. I usually stop and take pictures, and my family has to yell for me to catch up. :lmao:

As for which is faster? If you're staying closer to village green area, walk out the door, down the ramp to a waiting boat, then that may be faster. It also depends on how many load and unload on the boat. If you walk, you'll probably have more energy in the morning than on the way home after a long, hot park day.

Just wanted some experienced opinions it is our first stay at BCV, we are DVC. Would you request Quiet Pool view, Luna Pool view or Village Green and why? I booked garden/pool view Thank you!!!!!:flower3:

Well, last day for the parks! We are headed to Magic Kingdom this morning. The parks are busier than I thought they would be, tour groups make the standby lines longer, but we have done everything we wanted to do.

I will say the tour groups have not been noisy at all. They haven't bothered us, just a lot of them.

We have enjoyed our stay and once again the cast has been fantastic.

Are you staying at BCV (Beach Club Villas) or BWV (Boardwalk Villas)? What size villa do you have? If you are at the BWV and in a studio, the Village Green will give you a slight view of the Boardwalk and the lagoon. It's my understanding that there are only studios on the Village Green. We had a Luna Park studio many years ago it tended to be a bit noisier during the day.

Hi guys! In Westborough as well! Sure do wish I had a trip back 'home' in the next few weeks!! Lucky you!!

I love booking standard view villas! I've had one, so far, that wasn't great. That was the second floor, very close to the lobby/elevator. I was just a few villas down from the DME area...very busy area, not so great to sit out and enjoy my morning coffee.
But, other studios, further down the hall, and higher up, were fine! I've had some that allowed me a view of IllumiNations.....but many times I've had trees in the way. But, all in all, I prefer standard view villas. Great way to save on point usage. I like all the views though...they each have their good and bad.

Can't wait to get back home in Dec!!! Have to 'make do' with OKW in May.

Hi Kerry. Hope you had a great trip. We're arriving on Saturday. Other than the standby lines being longer, did you feel that the parks had a really "crowded" feel this past week? Do you know what I mean by that? Our trip next week is very relaxed, which means we'll do all of our FP+ rides, and then just bump around and do whatever else seems convenient. We have park hoppers, so at least we have that freedom to move around. I'm hoping to be able to do at least some standby lines without a wait of longer than 20 minutes. Did you have ADR's? If not, were decent dining spots/times ok to find?

Thanks!

Just found this thread & it's fantastic!

We check in tomorrow & can't wait :cool1:

Kerry--glad you had a good trip. Sorry I missed you. Daughter had a possible cancer scare and had surgery. I couldn't be a good mom on vacation lol. Hopefully we can meet up sometime

If you call Housekeeping and ask for a microwave they will bring one to your room "no charge' if they have one available.
Thank you for letting everyone know.

I'm sorry this question was missed and I'm glad you (patiently) re-posted it.

Just got into my room at BWV
Thank you for posting your photos and I hope the rest of your vacation was wonderful.

It's windy on The Boardwalk!
Makes you feel like you're right there - thank you for the photo:)

Booked officially now!! 5/30-6/5. BWI

Standard view.
I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin:)

Thanks to both of you for the pics! We "only" got 8 inches of snow instead of the 2-3 feet we were supposed to, but I'd rather be looking at that than dealing with eight inches of snow!!
Always the optimist:thumbsup2

Just called DVC and made request for village green. I arrive on Friday! Woo hooo. So looking forward to staying at the boardwalk!
Tomorrow is the BIG day! Happy travels!

I wouldn't have thought they'd be crowded this time of year, but it seems that's the norm now. When is your next trip?

Better late than never! I hope you have a magical vacation.

Oh, no:worried:. This is so scary and you had to cancel. I do hope you received good news and let us know when you've re-booked:hug:

The parks really did not feel crowded at all. We too, did FP and the rode rides in between. Waits were anywhere from 10 to 35 minutes.we did have ADRs and at Via Napoli, Be Our Guest they were not taking walk ups. I am sure you will have a great time!

Stacey, I am sorry I missed you too, but you were right to stay home. I know what you went through, have been through that with Suzy. Never know when we will pop up again.

Kook, we are hoping to come down the first week of May and again in December.

the villas pool would be good if you want quiet. but it is a long walk to the elevators/lobby. we requested village green and loved it! you get to see a lot of people coming and going.. it was interesting.. and we could see the top of illuminations. and it is close to the elevator/lobby.

Kook- I think u have us for family trip in June. June 17-27. The spot was caught early enough no time to develop but she has to be checked every 3 mo for awhile. Better than the alternative. Thanks for the thoughts:)
