Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Thanks again. So, #3272 would probably be ideal, huh? Or do you think I'd be better off with something like #3250 a little farther down? I just hate how people congregate by the elevators either going or coming back and just talk as loud as they want without any regard to the time. Granted, I might not get any of these requests, but it's worth a shot. I've been a Touring Plans subscriber for years, so might as well take advantage and see what happens!

Sorry, that may have been us and the awesome couple from Perth last summer....

Persistence paid off, well if I hadn't made all my changes this wouldn't have been an issue. My TA changed our reservation and we will now be at BWI CL for our entire trip 7/28-8/5

Double digits!!!!!!!!!!!! 99 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you asked . . . I think 3266 is too close to the stairwell, but not too close to the elevators. Even if you were one room closer to the elevator, such that the room didn't share a wall with the stairwell, I think that would be better. Last summer, DD and I were on the 4th floor nearly to the end (as far from the elevator as you can get). We used the stairwell to get to the pool every day. We tried to be quiet in closing the door and not stomping down the stairs. But, we never saw anyone else use the stairs -- Oh, I take that back, one time a maintenance guy was on the stairwell going between floors. I'm burned from a stay at WL where we were on the first floor right by the stairs. Kids ran up and down the stairs and along the corridor all the time. It was really annoying. Since then, I ask to be away from stairs and elevators.

We were in room 3019, right next to the stairs, earlier this month, and never heard anyone taking the stairs. Because we were far from the elevators, we took the stairs twice: the first time was to see where it exited at, and the second time was on our DHS day as the exit was near the pathway to DHS.

That's funny that you took the stairs to see where they exited. We do that too! I'm always walking around stairways in hotels to see where they get me. Of course, I say it's because we need to know the fire escape, but I'm really just curious. I'm glad that it was quiet for you.

Hi all!!!

My mom and I are looking to stay at the Boardwalk Villas in December :santa: (celebrating my birthday late this year since I like Christmas MUCH better than Halloween). We haven't stayed there since I was very little (our room was over Spoodles, which may show how long ago it was...also, the resort may have been new or newer back then) and have stayed mostly at POR for the last few years (with one year at AOA). I'm wondering what to expect and how people's experiences have been recently. I know I'll have to stay away from the pool area (I'm MASSIVELY afraid of clowns and I remember the slide was a clown) but that's all I know. I've loved visiting the resort while staying at others and stopping by to eat, and lose a tooth at Spoodles a few years after we stayed there ;-) But the best part is I don't remember much about the resort besides having a chocolate chip cookie from the bakery for breakfast, much to my grandma's dismay :cutie:, and eating it on the balcony while sitting next to my late grandfather and riding on a surrey bike with my mom and grandfather so I'm ready to make new memories. Please share your experiences with me?

Thanks!!! :thanks:

The good news is that you can still get a cookie (or muffin if you want to pretend to be slightly healthier) at the bakery for breakfast!!! :)

The BW has evolved since then (and is still doing so to a big extent right now), but it's still a very magical place! :thumbsup2

Pas130-you will be there the same time as us:sunny: we arrive July 20th and leave on the 30th.
AWESOME! Trust me you won't be able to miss me and the kids at all! They are good kids, but there's a lot of us :) I can't wait! I look forward to meeting another DISer in person (we rock)

F&W sounds like a must-do this year, and then Christmas AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Just got back from our stay at BWI! It was our first time there and I loved it! I sent my own request to the hotel for a room and got exactly what I asked for. We had a standard view booked and I found an amazing room on touring plans that had a great view of Epcot. The room was very nice, pretty close to the elevators, but no noise from them. Loved being able to walk to Epcot. We used the boat to get to DHS. The worst bus was getting to AK. We headed there as soon as we arrived at around 1230pm. We were the only ones that got on the bus. Our driver was great, and felt badly that he had to stop at Swan, then Dolphin, the Blizzard Beach! No one else got on the entire time. And then we had to do the whole thing on the way back. I saw someone a few pages back asking about shared busses. We ubered to MK in the morning for an early ADR, but took the bus back at 11pm and it went directly to BWI. I think it shared with S&D but stopped at BWI first.

Here is a picture of our view: Exact room was 5278 - requested 5th floor E facing. The room was very quiet overall

Pas130-awesome! Can't wait to say hey. It will be DH, DD, DD's friend and I. High school graduation celebration:sad1::smooth:. After prom, state golf, and graduation we will need our vacation. Plus we have a wedding 6 hours away the weekend before we head down our happy place:sunny:

We have rented DVC points for a BWV Studio with a Garden/Pool view. Can we submit location/room requests on our own, or must the broker do that? And how far in advance can we do that?

The owner of the points will have to make the request. It can be done anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior.

That is my favorite standard view! Amazing isn't it!?!?! Glad you had a great trip. Can't wait to be back there in 67 days!

I'll pay for my free dining if you'll pay for my room and tickets. :lmao:

Early congrats to your dd on graduation. I'm four years behind you.

And, I suppose you'll toss in a free cup of water and some MK park maps in Chinese? Thanks for the congrats and good luck with all your upcoming driving lessons, boyfriends, prom, college apps...

Greetings! Booked for a solo-trip in a standard room for Wine & Dine race weekend November 2/3-7th. First time at BWI and first runDisney event so I am obviously super excited!

Congratulations on booking a solo trip - what fun! Have you ever done one before? I'll log your dates and I hope you have a great run.

Wow, that was a lot of posts! I finally finished reading all 156 pages and found the answers to many of my questions. Thank you!
We'll be staying at BWV in a Standard View Deluxe Studio 1/29/17-2/4/17.

Welcome, @skis2! You deserve a medal for all that reading! For now, I'll just log your dates.

Just got back from BWV. Stayed in room 4117 - standard view - and had partial views of the fireworks. Walk to elevator was only 2 minutes. Surprised our kitchen wasn't stocked with salt, pepper, or a cutting board but they were supplied upon request.

On a side note, we ventured to the Polynesian one night for a drink and it felt like Grand Central compared to the BW, YC, BC. Granted, it was raining at the time, but we were glad we chose the Boardwalk area - never seemed that congested during our stay.

Thanks for your review of your stay:)

WOOHOO to that! It is still THAT, right?

Curiouser and curiouser ;)

That's about right - those "healthy" muffins can pack a wallop.

Thank you for posting your little TR and photo. It's great you got just the room you wanted:)

I'd even make that sacrifice, but just for you. :lmao:

Yes, at 14 going on 25 going on 3, life is a roller coaster of girl teen hormones right now. And, I have another dd just two years behind her as well. :scared1:

Silly question but does anyone have a decent close up of a male CM from the boardwalk? I am trying to find a good photo of what their outfits look like. Thanks so much for any help. :)
