Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

I would say yes they are. It was fine at first but became a longer walk once our feet and legs got tired late in our vacation. 5-10 minute walk depending on your pace.

It is a quarter mile there and a 1/4 mile back. It sucks when it is hot, late, and you have been out all day. :-) We are a physically fit family and it was too much after a while. So, we drove our car up to the bus area, walked to the bus stop and at the end of the night, we hopped in our car and just drove back to the LM rooms. It worked out great and was super fast. :-)

I see they offer movie night. Has anyone done that before? We have just one night to do movie at AOA while we are there or chip and dale campfire. Don't know which one to pick

I'd wait until the schedule for the month you are going comes out and then decide so you can see if it's a movie you guys will like :) I think it's one of the few things you don't have to plan in advance at Disney lol!

I heard from a little birdie cast member and travel agent, that AoA will be excluded from the room discounts and FD this year. We got it the first year it was open, in Sept 2012, but we are going back now in August because we were told they would be excluded adn we are staying there anyway. :-) They used to include them, but rumor has it that they will not be including them. BOTH the suites and LM rooms

The suites were included in the Spring RO offer...LM rooms never are included...

Hello all!!!
...we are going as a surprise trip for my triplet's birthday!!! ...

My wife and I are taking our triplets the end of April and staying in the Lion King section. It's not a surprise for them, but it's for their 5th birthday. We tried making it a surprise, but we just couldn't keep the secret. We figured we will surprise them next time we go, which won't be for a few more years.

For AoA there are no preferred rooms like the other resorts. The suites are all the same price.

There are a couple pictures of the safe on this site. I don't think it's all that deep. I remember someone saying they were able to fit their iPad in there.

Awesome!!! More triplets!!! CONGRATS TO YOU!!! 5 was LOTS of fun. Mine will be turning 10 during the trip.. they grow WAY too fast.
Keeping it a secret is one of the hardest things ever!!!!! they think we are going next year - for their 11th birthday. Which helps when i get caught planning and researching!

Thank you! this helped!!!

We were able to put our iPad, 3DS, iPhone, and a small camera in the safe. It was tight, but it worked. I think maybe my DH left his wallet in there a couple of times in addition - like when we went to the pool...not sure.

We usually left the murphy bed down, just for convenience. Mousekeeping put it back up, which was fine. My kids loved coming back to the suite at night and seeing where Mousekeeping had arranged their stuffed animals. Never the same place twice!

If you want more pictures of the suites, my TR in my sig has lots!

I was just looking through your trip report and saw that you're from the Quad Cities! Where exactly? I bet I do know it. I went to Augustana up there and my best friend lives in Moline. (Her husband is from Port Byron area.) :-) I'm down in Springfield (IL). Small world!

Hi all! I asked this question a couple of pages back but haven't had any luck with a response yet. I'll ask again hoping someone will know!

We are going to be staying in a Cars suite for a week with our five year old and twins who will be fifteen months old at date of travel. We will require two cribs which I have requested. Has anyone ever had two cribs before? Is there enough room for them both? Thanks!

I just booked our first disney trip for nov in a nemo suite. After reading everything here I'm afraid nov is just too far away...

I haven't requested two, but I think there should be room for both. It may be tight, but I've seen people post that they were able to fit 2 air mattresses, and if that can be done, I would think 2 cribs would fit.

I don't have any experience with requesting pack 'n plays at Disney but I can tell you there will be plenty of room in the suite for 2 of them. There would be room either in the master bedroom or out in the main area.

If for some reason they don't have two pack and plays available and you don't have a rental car, you could rent one from one of the stroller rental places and have it delivered.....

I'm not sure where to post this question but since we are staying at AOA I figured this is the best place.

We are doing our first Disney trip with our 3 & 4 year old daughters in 4 weeks!!! I'm nervous about making the most of our two days there! We are only staying at AOA for one night and doing MK for two days before going to Sanibel island.

We are renting a car and I'm not sure what the best option for getting to and from MK from AOA??! Should we drive and park? If so, where? Or, should we take the bus! Open to any suggestions!

I have never taken the bus before but I would drive ( i do) I would say plan both your days out. Be there at rope drop. Let them sleep in the stroller instead of leaving park unless you really need that down time. Pick one day for parades and use the other day for ridding rides during the parades. Same with fireworks. Hope that helps. Have a great time!

If you take the bus, you need to plan for 45 minutes or so each way. The trip is only 20-25 minutes, but if you just miss a bus, you could wait 20 minutes. If you drive, you will have to park at TTC and then take the monorail or boat to MK. So, I don't know that one is a ton faster than the other really. If you are planning on staying for Wishes and leaving right after, a car might be better - the bus line can be really really long at that point - it took us over an hour to get on a bus just because of the number of people going to AoA. If you aren't staying until the evening, that won't be a problem.

All that said, we loved the convenience of the bus! The only time we ever had to wait was the one night I mentioned after the fireworks. It was so easy and one less thing we had to worry about.

We're booked in a Nemo suite in October! So excited! It was a hard choice between Nemo and Cars so I'm excited to explore the resort!
