One of the few...I have actually read through all 62 pages of this thread before posting!:rotfl:

I just recently booked ASSp for the first week of free dining this year...August 15 to August 20. Finally, free dining before school starts!:cool1: We didn't think we could go this year...so much up in the air with the possibility of moving that we planned nothing for the summer. However, with free dining and a lovely value price, we are able to sneak in a vacation before the end of summer.

Reading this thread has me all excited for staying at Sports! Never stayed here before. Never stayed value before. But I'm still excited.

Contrary to most requests, we want to stay in the tennis section! We are big tennis fans. Bigger football (soccer) fans..go USA in the World Cup!!!...but there is no football section.:sad1:

We are driving and will be using our own car around the world so I think being in the back will be perfect for us! Love hearing about everyone's trips. Keep posting!

TxRabbit it is awesome that you are able to sneak in a trip.
In my opinion Tennis is the quietest section of All Star Sports.
You will have to give us a full report of your stay.

Have fun.....

Quiet works for me.:thumbsup2
Definitely will give a full report.

We're staying at the All Star Sports for the free dining from August 15th-23rd. We have stayed at the All Star Music twice, but never Sports. Since we just booked the package, Sports was the only Value with standard rooms available, everything else was preferred. Since we're driving, we're hoping to get a room close to the parking lot. I think Home Run Hotel would be pretty cool, since DS plays T-ball.

We will be there from Aug 15th - 20th and our first stay at the AllStar Sports...!! I'll be happy anywhere they put us but was also thinking the Homerun section would be nice since DS plays baseball. Hope to read some more great reviews

DS and I are anxiously waiting for the day to get here.

The Homerun Buildings look really cool. We've stayed in Football, both buildings, in the past. They are close to the food court and buses which is nice.

we stayed in the Home Run Section in October, too. Left stairway, the third room on 3rd level on the opposite of the ice machine.

I wanted to ask for a room in that section, but after the long flights I was so tired that I forgot to ask at the front desk. We were even so tired that we slept on the ride in the Magical Express.

When we walked to the building and when I saw it I thought "ah that's what you forgot to ask, but well, you got what you wanted"

that Ironing-Board was broken. I just wanted to have a look and than I wasn't able anymore to retract it. We laughed about 1 hour because of that mistake. Housekeeping brought a new one. I felt so sorry, even if I didn't destroy it.

We really enjoyed our stay in the All Star Sports Resort!

We stayed in the Homerun section last year for 10 nights during FD in Aug. We loved it. We had a room on the ground floor right next to the pool. When I first saw our location I thought it would be noisy, but it was fine. There was only one night when people stayed in the pool later then they were supposed to and they were noisy. I was about to call the front desk, but they finally left - someone else probably beat me to it. The walk is obviously farther then a preferred room, but we didn't mind. We need the exercise from all the eating we do during FD!!!! This year we will be back at Music!!! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

It seems the most popular are Surf's up (this is the preferred room section) & football.
These are the closest to the main building\food court.

Thanks! We are requesting connecting rooms, so I probably cannot be too picky.

tinkerbell60 I am sure no matter what building you are in you will enjoy your stay.

Have fun. :woohoo:

tinkerbell60 hopefully when you get back you can write a review of your stay.

I know you will have fun.....

Anyone?:confused3

Are there ceiling fans in the rooms?

Is the air conditioning motion activated? If it is, what does this mean?

How wide is the doorway between the sink/vanity area and the bedroom area? Specifically, what methodologies work for hanging a privacy curtain of some sort?

Thanks everyone!

There is not a ceiling fan in the room.
Air conditioning motion activated I do not know.....anyone else know?
Exactly how wide???? no idea but you could put a tension rod between the walls and hang a curtain like a shower curtain tension rod.

Hope this helps????

If anyone else knows the answers to these questions please post them.

Thanks!

If the A/C IS motion activated, it doesn't get warm while you're gone, so you should be fine. People worry it will turn off while they are gone, and have left helium balloons to float around, but we have never needed to do this and always return to super cold rooms.
