Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

I'm tempted to go to Orlando today ....

Still in a holding mode until weather updates to return back home

But will be back for the motherland end of the month

We always rent a car! I would check the prices, it might not be that much more to keep it your whole visit and then return it to the airport. You can also park at free at the parks if you are staying at the resort, so no waiting for buses! It is also great to go to Disney Springs or eat/go off property.

I don't know if we will need a car the rest of the time - we are switching over to the BC so we will be able to walk to Epcot and DHS. But thinking about getting the car for the week only because last year one of my travel companions got sick and it would have been nice to have a car to run to Publix/CVS for medicine that the resort didn't carry...

Did online checkin this morning. I requested Surf's Up, ground floor: a girl can dream.

Got some fast passes. Frozen wasn't available: no shocker. Not disappointed as I wasn't expecting it to be and I am not getting up at midnight to select my fast passes, lol. I got the usual:

Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Peter Pan
Soarin
Safari

There is more but i forget, ol.

I'm finally going to leave Florida now
Weather better and driving should be ok now for me to leave

Weather unsettling again now and might end up staying tonight
But hope it dies down so i can leave

Looks like just a band coming thru

I drove to Bushnell which is close to the Florida National cemetery to bury both parents
Rain started while there and decided to wait for better weather for the 9 hour drive home

Normally I fly to Florida but had to drive this time airfare is horrible for flights few days out notice

My happy time for Orlando is later this month
And looking forward for it

For the nighttime movie, do you take blankets to sit on? Are you sitting in the grass?

You would be sitting on "artificial turf" at the Football Field.:)

Some Guests do take blankets to sit on.:)

The screen is set up on the far end of this picture(minus the cheerleaders!).:)

for anyone there now or anytime in the next few weeks, what are the "non-soda" choices for the refillable mugs at the machines? Most interested if there is HiC/lemonade or Powerade. Our kids don't drink soda and we are getting the mugs with the QSDP.

TIA,I know the options vary by resorts.

Can't believe we get there tomorrow :) Just checked into SW and got great positions without purchasing EBCI (we got A54 and A55). So ready to be at Disney! :earboy2:

I'm counting on my fingers and toes now for departure day

Nice. I booked the Tomorrowland Desert Party for 11/2: price is a little steep at $79 but it will give me a chance to sit and enjoy the fireworks. Not to good at standing for great lengths of time yet with the knee.
