DisneyQuest

I have been to Disney quite a few times and have yet to go to DisneyQuest. I have a 7 year old and 3 year old. I think my 7 year old would enjoy it but don't know too much about it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experience, and if you think it would be worth the money to bring my son into. Thanks

I would wait till he's a little older, but that's just me. My teens were 16 and 13 when we went and they loved it but I"m not sure there's enough there to keep a 7 year old interested. It can also be really loud, which is something you might want to consider. But then on the other hand, if he's really into video games he might get enough out of it to justify the ticket price. I would just hate to pay $30 or whatever it is now, and have my child want to leave after 5 or 6 games, which is what mine would have done at that age!

Thank you for your quick reply. You are probably right. My son does play a lot of video games, but if this did not keep his interest for very long it would add up especially since my husband or I would have to join him. Perhaps when he gets a little older. I am sure we will be back. Thanks!

We did DisneyQuest the first time with our son who was 5 at the time...he LOVED it and did not want to leave....we went at opening and forced him to leave at almost 6 pm...I was bored out of my mind, but he and my husband had a ball...The virtual Pirates game is a lot of fun and we must have done it a dozen times.

I read at another website that these attractions can cause some motion sickness. Did you or your son find that to be the case, or was it no different than playing video games on the television?

There was one ride...I think Aladdin's Flying Carpets, which is a 3D ride where you put on a helmet and watch the screen in your helmet. That ride did me in. And I rarely get motion sickness. It was at the end of our trip though, so being tired was probably part of the problem.

I am very prone to motion sickness....the only thing that I had to stop was the Aladdins carpets...made me sick...the Virtual Pirates and Rafting were fine...did not try the coaster tho as my son was too short..

My son does also get some motion sickness, such as long car rides. So this may be a good ride for him to avoid if we do go to DisneyQuest. Thanks for all your help.

Another vote for motion sickness on Aladdin. Not only that, but I STUNK at the game.

DQ is sort of a love or hate destination. While my DH and DD love it (they enjoy the video game stuff), I find it to be boring and the layout of the building just drives me nuts. Poor planning if you ask me.

But the cheesecake is to die for.

I think the night I go to PI with my mother, I'll send the kids over to DQ with the DH. I hate video games, but the boys love 'em (DD17 will just have to suck it up and go along, or hang out at the SSR pool). Are nights the busiest time there?

Weve done DQ twice DD was 7 and 8. She loved it both times. Favorites were the Virtual Pirates, the annimation cell drawing, the Buzz Lightyear cars were you shoot the balls, the air hockey tables, the mirror where you take your picture and edit it, and the rollercoaster you build (she and her dad did a category 5).

I don't do the rollercaoster since simulators like that make me sick to my stomach. The Flying carpet made all 3 of us somewhat green - she and her dad don't turn green on anything else

The jungle cruise was interesting (no motion sickness there) but we were awful at it - we are going to try again in December. The pinballl game where looked like fun but was always too busy.

We enjoy DQ and never play any of the vidoe games in there. Don't miss the cheesecake factory for a yummy treat.

My DS 18, DS 13, and DS 10 all loved DQ. I think it appeals to all ages. I think there's alot for a 7 year old. Very cool place.

I have to say the more I hear about this I think my son will enjoy it. He is really into his gameboy and video games in general. I just have to see if my husband will want to go as well. I am not into the video games, they usually play them together. I will just have to find something for my daughter and our baby to do while they are in there. Thanks again!

I'm so glad you asksed this. My DGD is only 5 and I just can't see spending that kind of money when we are only going to be there for a few day's. I think she would much rather spend the money in one of the shop's.
