OK, we jet off - better half, her boys 12 and 10, and me - on Boxing Day, not long now ! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I've never been to Disneyquest, and I thought it might be fun for all of us, not just the rugrats.

I have read about it on Disney's website, but dont know anything else about it - for some reason the link to the DQ info page on the DIS theme parks homepage isnt working.

So, is it worth spending an afternoon or evening at ? And what can you tell me about it ?

Ticketmania still have that excellent discounted ticket offer for Mousesavers subscribers, but I'll need to order soon just in case the Christmas post delays their arrival. So a few rapid responses would be a big help folks !

Thanks.

We were there in October
The cruelty Officer, myself and our two sprogs 15 and 10

We spent a couple of hours at DQ one afternoon and to be honest there are a couple of attractions that are out of this world such as (Virtual Space Mountain) build your own roller coaster (then ride it) Pirates of the Carribean (virtual reality shoot-em-up) and a giant pinball (you are a bumper) to name a few. The rest however is basic arcade material that if you are into that type of thing, you'll find great, however the cruelty officer and myself ended up boored after an hour or so.

The kids however thought they had died and gone to heaven (which was great 'cos they spent the whole day there on their own a couple of days later)

On the whole, if you are into Virtual reality, simulators and arcade entertainment then you will love it and I would recommend it if you had done most other things but I wouldn't miss a park for it.

Sorry if I sound negative but each to their own.

Hi Beejayjay

I would've thought the boys would love it, if they are into arcades, virtual reality rides etc. We spent a really good afternoon here. I personally love the naff old arcade games and there is a big room here devoted to these. Other good things were the interactive "design your own" rollercoaster and Buzz Lightyear's Astroblaster.

It's good to have up your sleeve for a rainy day (but also busier I believe!) Not sure how much I would have been prepared to pay for admission though but it was included in our 10 Day World Pass.

However if you dislike enclosed dark spaces and loud noises then this is probably not the place for you!

Hi Beejay

We love DisneyQuest. We at least go two or three times during a visit. We love the virtual reality stuff and Dh loves all of the arcade games. I really enjoyed the 'character drawing' class :)

Of course there is alway's the cheesecake factory too ;)

HI

My DH, DS7 and DD14 think they're in heaven when in DQ - they absolutely love it.
DD16 gets fed up after a couple of hours though.
Personally I think it's a great place to visit and we go at least twice during a trip.

Helen

Thanks guys, it sounds like it's just the job for 2 boys totally hooked on video games, and one old fool who loved and misses the simple pleasures of Space Invaders, Asteroids, Galaxian and the like !

My order for 4 tickets is in with Ticketmania, now I just have to hope the delivery is as quick as for our Hoppers and Flex tickets from them - 6 days door to door. It's be a bummer if they got caught in the Chrimbo post !

Great deal, over $12 per ticket reduction, more than pays for the 4th ticket - we like that ! :)

Less than 15 days now....
