Ok, not THAT old and it's not really free. Our FITS passes grant entree' to this attraction and I'm wondering if it's worth a visit. I enjoy a good interactive game as much as the next guy and we could probably schedule a stop on the way to PI some night. Any opinions?

I think its worth going to. I'm not a huge fan of video game arcades, but I really like Disney Quest. The games are great and they also have good food.

I got hooked playing the "old" arcade games like Pac Man and Frogger. Literally, hours went by! I think it is cool to see and some of the interactive things are fun. The Cheesecake Facotry is always good too!

We have PAP's and go to DQ frequently. It's worth a stop! Don't miss the Buzz bumper cars, Pirates, Jungle cruise or pin ball.

I'm an old fart and so is my husband and we love DQ. We're 54 years old. To me it is worth it just to do the Pirates of the Caribbean.

I totally agree with your entire statement. I'm also 54 and Pirates of the Caribbean is the main reason I like to go. Also like Mighty Ducks Pinball, but if I couldn't do PoTC, I'd leave.

What is this, a convention of 54 year olds? That's my number too. Thanks for the advice, we'll be giving this a try and given the positive tone here I'll make sure to visit early in case we desire a return trip.

Single digits!!

Oooh go check out DQ it's a lot of fun, and free internet too...and not to mention the Cheesecake Factory! YUM!

And for sure, stop by PI too, have a rum runner for me! Say 'hey' to Dan and AJ in the Rock n Roll Beach Club too!

PrincessCandaceMarie, what's with the 'free internet' business? I can logon from there for free? If so, tell me more! I'll look for your friends at the Rock n Roll Beach Club but my libations will probably be limited Corona with the stray jelly shot.

We were just there last month- went to the area where the food was, ordered a pizza, went down a floor to where the computers were, and they delivered the pizza to us! The teenagers used the computer 1st, then left us to go do their own thing while DH and I checked our email and the Dis (of course!). Don't forget to check out Pirates- worth the admission alone! Have fun!

The parents went when they were 65. The first time we did Pirates Mom was confused as how to get the glasses on. The second time she was the first one ready to go. Dad almost fell down trying to run from one gun to another because we weren't quick enough. When we sank the ship the second time we were all yelling and high fiveing. We turned around and the door was open with the next group just staring at us. After 3 hours or so I was ready to go and went looking for them thinking they would be ready too. It's so loud in there. Anyway, I found them alright standing in front of a game where they each had a pistol and Mom was beating Dad and they were both having a great time. Ready to go.....not them.

DH is 52, I'm 41 - we got so hooked on Pirates we had to leave for our PS at Boma and come back and play some more!

And, my MOTHER and step-father also had a great time there, and that sort of thing is not usually their cup of tea (but Mom is a very young 62).

I'm 52, DW 51, & we had a great time there. It can be pretty noisy, though. We really like the pizza & had a great chicken caesar salad there. We like the Buzz bumper things, the old arcade games, ski-ball, etc. DW enjoyed the raft ride & had great fun when a family adopted her to do the Pirate ride.

My boyfriend and I are in our 30's . We had the pleasure of doing the Pirates attraction with a fun loving couple in their 50's. We all had a great time! If you're a thrill seeker, don't forget to try Cyber Space Mountain!pirate: :3dglasses

DW and I decided we will try the DQ part this time around. What is the pirate ride, you all got me interested!?!

Pirates and the Alien Invasion ride are our families favorite ride. We have to go on each one 4 times so that each of us can be the Driver once. If you like Pirates try Alien too, it is a lot of fun also.

I have never been to DQ. What is the Pirates and Alien thing you guys are talking about? It sounds like it might be fun and worth me stopping there next time.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN - BATTLE FOR BUCCANEER GOLD
This is the class act of the place. You and three other people climb aboard the bow of a ship, which features a wheel and several cannons. One person will steer the ship while the other three operate the cannons. Surrounding the box on three sides are screens, which will turn into a pirate-attacked Caribbean when the game starts. The object is to fire the cannons at those ships until they sink, thereby saving the islands from the pirate scourge. If you do well enough, you will meet a pirate boss - I can't remember but I think he was a ghost... maybe we killed him? - who requires much better cannon work to defeat.

This is a great attraction, but we defeated the pirate boss on our first try. I don't think it is as easy as we made it seem, as the attendant refused to believe this was our first attempt. A lot of credit goes to our captain, a woman who was a complete stranger to us before our game, who always kept the marauders within our cannon's reaches. This is something I definitely would have done again, even after winning, but lines here are usually long.

Guests Battle Pirates for Treasure
Located in the Explore Zone at DisneyQuest, Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold will immerse guests in one of their favorite Disney stories. A crew of up to four guests boards a ship-themed motion platform in a 270-degree surround screen, 3-D environment. Once on board, they take a place as the captain navigating the ship, or as one of three cannoneers. Guests begin their swashbuckling adventure by plunging down a virtual waterfall into a world of pillaged towns, fortress islands and volcanoes. Working as a team, cannoneers move around the boat and attempt to sink pirate ships to increase their treasure trove. The action-packed voyage will further excite guests with unexpected obstacles and a surprise ending involving a showdown to defend their hard-won treasure.

"Just as the original Pirates of the Caribbean established a ‘gold standard’ for technical sophistication in entertainment attractions when it debuted, its virtual offspring, the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold, raises the bar for interactive adventures," said Joe Garlington, attractions producer for Walt Disney Imagineering.
