Disneymooner site on Yahoo

I had read on here about how great the Disneymooner site was but everytime I send and email to try to join the site I get messages that the email could not be delivered.

Does anyone know if this site it still up? If so do you have an email contact that is good? I am trying to learn as much as possible about having my wedding at WDW so I was really hoping to join the group.

Also, does anyone know where I can find the following book:
Disney Weddings: The Ultimate Unofficial Guide to Tying the Knot or Renewing Your Vows at Walt Disney World. I have heard very good things about it but I cannot find it online or in print anywhere.

Hi!

I don't know anything about the website...hopefully someone else can answer your questions.

However, every now and then someone asks about the book here. I remember when I was first planning my Disney wedding I looked everywhere for information, hints, tips, something with answers to all my questions. I found it here, on this board.

A couple of brides in the past had purchased the book and basically said that they could have gotten the same information here for free. The other thing that concerns me is the time it takes for books to be published...Disney tends to make some subtle (and not so subtle) changes to the wedding packages every year. Most (if not all) books would be essentially out of date when they are printed.

I certainly understand your desire to get your hands on everything Disney wedding related (many of us felt the same way)...but I would encourage you to think twice about purchasing that book.

Another website that might also have additional information is the new MouseWeddings (link) site. It's fairly new and the information there should be fairly current.

Oh good - I thought the Disneymooner Mods were ignoring me! I'm not sure if that board is still active, cuz I have been trying to join for over a month.

Sometimes, even though my email would come back undeliverable, I'd get a message from the moderators saying I had advanced to the next step of the application process. But after I got in to the part where you can only access the part of the Board with all the rules, I got no further instructions.

I too was hoping to join because I've heard that there's a wealth of great info there. I think one of the moderators is on this Board, too, but I haven't heard from her in ages.

Regarding "Disney Weddings: The Ultimate Unofficial Guide to Tying the Knot or Renewing Your Vows at Walt Disney World" - that book (I belive it was an electronic file, like a PDF, not an actual book, unless you printed it) has been out of print for some time. However, www.mouseweddings.com is kind of like an online version of it - very comprehensive.

Seems like I posted too soon because I sent Disneymooners an email and one of the owners responded. She said she has been out of town and will review my application soon. I will keep this thread posted as I hear from them, but right now I am just really happy they are still an active group.

If you too have not heard from them you may want to try re-emailing them.

I also received a reply from one of the mods at Disneymooners. I had been referred by someone already on the board (she said it helps to be referred now because they've had problems with Disney employees and people in the wedding industry trying to read about some of the tricks on the board). Unfortunately, my application wasn't accepted. I was told you can only apply one year from the date of your wedding now.

This is weird...I'm 3 months from my wedding, and I haven't heard a peep! And this is after I got through stages 1 and 2 of the application process. Sniff...
