Disneymoon registry

I was just wondering if anyone has used the disneymoon registry and if they have really benefited from it? DF and I already live together so we're not really registering at any of the stores. We will be honeymooning at Disney as well and I was wondering if I should use the disneymoon registry or not. I haven't really seen to much talk about it on the boards. Any of your experiences are greatly appreciated. Thanx.

We used it for our Disneymoon last year and really liked it. Like you, we already lived together and didn't really need anything, so we opted to register for honeymoon "extras" instead.

We put things in our registry that we didn't already have planned, so that if someone purchased it for us it truly would be an extra-special thing. Not everyone in my family was comfortable with using a honeymoon registry, but we did have some friends and family that used it. Because of their gifts, we were able to get a spa treatment on the last day of our honeymoon, spend some time at Disney Quest, go on a shopping spree at Downtown Disney, and have one more extra-special meal we hadn't planned on because it wasn't in our original budget.

I know some people choose to include things like their hotel stay and park tickets in the registry, and that's a great way to save money, too. However, like I said, we opted to put only extra-special items that were just a bit out of our budget. We thought it was easy to use and we were promptly notified via email when someone purchased something from our registry so we could thank them appropriately.

We are using it as well. In fact, the gift card just came in the mail last week. It's sparkly and beautiful!

I know that some of my friends will use it. I figure whatever we get, we get. All the money just goes on the gift card, so you don't actually have to use it for what you registered for, if you change your mind. For example, one of the things we registered for was a dinner at Jiko. If we can't get in there, we'll use it somewhere else.

I say do it; it can't hurt!

Thnx ladies..that's a good idea to use it for extra things. I agree with the family thing Im not sure if most of my family will be comfortable using it but hey i'll take wat i can get right.. And it's good to know that I can use it on other things if we change our mind. Thnx again for the info.

I just set ours up... and I also planning on registering somewhere else too like Macy's or Bed Bath and Beyond. This way I figure guests who would rather get a traditional shower gift can do so, and hopefully we will get a few things off the Disney registry to make for an extra special trip!

We are in the process of using ours now, since our wedding is under 30 days away and we have actually have a couples shower tomorrow night, so it is fun to get an e-mail and see that we have money put in the account. Since we are going in October, and we already paid for the trip in full, including perks like the MNSSHP and Dining Plan, we are focusing more on just Fantasy Funds and the Wine and Cheese Funds, though we did list a couple of neat things like a dinner at Artist Point and Narcoosee's as well as the Honeymoon Photo Package and Art of Disney stuff

I highly recomend the honeymoon registry. We just got back from our honeymoon yesterday. It was so easy to use and we received many gifts on the registry. We also registered at Bed bath and beyond for everyone that didn't feel comfortable with the disneymoon registry. It ended up paying for almost everything accept for our hotel stay. And it's really funny when the waiter/waitress comes back complementing how beautiful the card itself is because they haven't seen it before. We had quite a few servers who told us they were passing the card around so everyone could look at it.
