Disneylands Space Mountain

www.mousesavers.com has reported that Space mountain will be closed down till 2005.because of stuctural problems found bt an inspection on April 9th

Wow - you'd think that they'd use this time to install a new track... Disneyland's SM is fun, but a new queue and effects certainly aren't going to draw the crowds and won't do the 50th anniversary celebration justice.

The plan for the downtime is to replace the track. It was originally planned to close down later this year to replace it all, but they went ahead and did it a couple days ago. The word is that the track layout will be the same and that new a loading area and queue will be put in with a theme/look from what I hear.

It's ironic how the original construction took as long(2yrs) as the proposed "enhancements". They must be really short on help these days.
