Did anyone get to the park today? Anything exciting for the birthday?

I was there. It wasn't crazy like last year. I got into the park at about 8:30. We watched the ceremony that they always do on July 17th in front of the castle at 10am. Disneyland gave CHOC (Children's Hospital of OC) a donation of 1 million dollars. DL president Matt Oiumet presided over this. He pretty much announced that the subs would be reopening July 17 next year (so we'd all better be back). Later, I went to the rededication ceremony. I hadn't planned on it, but an Imagineer I'd met the previous day said to go. I'm glad I listened--Marty Sklar was there! I ended up getting my pics with President Matt (who I'd met before--very nice man) and Marty Sklar. Later, while waiting for fireworks, we were talking with a CM who takes pictures in front of the castle and she gave me here 51st button.
