How hard is it to book at the DVC resort at Disneyland or one of the other hotels near Disneyland 7 months out? We are looking around beginning of November, but not till 2013.

I don't know about the villas, but as far as I've ever read, booking at PPH or DLH is really simple and can be done at nearly anytime.

The issue with booking PPH and DLH is that once you've booked with your points, they cannot be used for *villas* anymore. Their status changes; they are reservation points instead of vacation points, or something like that. So if you decide to book at Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel, DO NOT KEEP LOOKING at the villas, because you can't use those same points to book at the villas if something opens there. Just be happy with your choice and get excited for the hotel you chose. :)

Interesting...I did not know that...Thanks for the information.

GCV is really small. I could be hard at 7 months out to get anything there for a longer period of time. Maybe a night or two. But you won't know until you try.

Does anyone know if you can book the theme suites at Disneyland hotel?

We just got back from the DL Hotel using DVC points. We got a great view room on the 8th floor with a Downtown Disney view and a fantastic view of the fireworks. The only problem using points is that it is very costly and it's only going to get worse in 2012. And I sure miss my balconey at the villas.

My guess would be no, since those themed suites are not traditional rooms, but rather large suites that go for so much more on a cash basis than traditional rooms. The 2x we've used points to stay at the DLH, we've only gotten traditional hotel rooms.

Is there anyplace I can go to find out how many points is required to stay at a studio equivalent room at Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel, or does it change frequently and the only way to find out is by calling?

The member website should have the Disney Collection points somewhere.

hi, are the disney collection points different to the dvc points listed in the points charts for dl, we are wanting to rent points for our disneyland stay and thought we had found how many points we needed but after reading about disney collection points we are not sure now, we are looking at 5 nights, 30th sept till 5th oct 2012 which we thought was 85 points we dont mind which hotel we stay in, thanks for any advice, susie

Are you looking for VGC points or staying in a DL hotel - DL Hotel, Paradise Pier?

If DLH or PP, you would need anywhere from 29-45 points per night.

If VGC, you would need anywhere from 17-94 points per night depending on the size of the villa.

thanks for your quick reply, wow thats a lot of points for the dl hotels, we will try for vgc if they are full then sadly it will be offsite for us, thanks again susie

I think you can only book a regular room, but doesn't mean you will get a regular room. When I booked a one night stay as I had some holding points I had to use and VGC was full, I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite for the night.

Hmm that stinks.

We will have two years of our points so we will have some to burn since we aren't doing anything next year as a family.
