We are trying to plan a trip with my mom and dad in a few years, and my dad has MS. He walks with a cane, but moves very slowly. I know we can rent him a scooter when we get into Disneyland, but how do we get him to the parks?? We usually stay at a hotel across the street, and it is only a 5 min walk, but he wouldn't be able to do that, or it would take us all day. I hope this all made sense!! Can't wait to read your responses.

We don't have a list of places to rent ECVs from in Disneyland, but I'd suggest renting from one of the off-site places at Disneyland. That way, you don't have to worry about him getting from the hotel to the park rental place.

Hi there I would definately rent a scooter. I too have MS and found the heat really affected my ability to move and walking became very difficult. But with the scooter I was able to do everything I wanted only getting on the rides was a little difficult but the CMs are very good at helping and giving instruction on how to get on. It has been a long time since I used the revolving platforms. The one you stand on an it moves while you stand. I found it very important to hold on to the CM hand while I took my first step and DH stood behind me in case I lost my balance. I wibbled and wobbled but did not fall down :lmao:

Also I carried a small foldable cooler which I put ice water in and a couple of face cloths. I was able to cool myself down fairly easily.

I had rented from Alan's and had several problems and wasted quite a few hours. I have seen on MousePad that several other people have also had problems with Alan's. I have heard that Century is pretty good for service.

Since you're staying across the street, I would recommend you use Century or another company...I know there's a couple more that deliver, but I can't think of their names at the moment.
If you plan on driving around and parking in the Mickey and Friends structure, you can drop him off at the crosswalk and use a complimentary wheelchair to get him to the tram and then again to get to the ECV rental area.
The first option is much easier because they'll deliver it to your hotel and you can use it anywhere. Also, these scooters are usually 3 wheel models and are much easier to drive.
The ones in the park are 4 wheel, big and clunky, but they work and if something happens (such as a dead battery) you just talk to any cast member and they'll bring a new one to you.
If you rent one at the park you can only go between the two parks. You can not take it beyond the security inspection tents.
