My son is growing so fast that a ligament pulled a small piece of his foot bone off (left outside of foot) and now has to wear a walking boot. We see an ortho. dr on the 14th and will get an x-ray to see how he doing.

I have already decided to bring the boot as he has been in it for a few weeks and with all of the walking we will be doing I want him to have support on his foot.

What should I do to help my 10 yo son be more comfortable? We will be there the 17th of May through the 20th.
Is there anything we should ask the CM's to make his time a fun one?
how much to rent a wheel chair, if it comes to that?

Thanks for the help and suggestions in advance.

Wheelchair rentals are $10/day at the parks but if you pay for a multi day ticket you get it for $8/day. If you are staying on site ask at lugage services if they have a wheelchair. We just got back and rented when we were there in Feb but asked at POP this time and were given a wheelchair to use for the entire time we were there free of charge from the hotel. We wouldn't have minded paying but it really gave us the freedom to go out after we left the parks to have the chair with us the entire time.

***Oops sorry just realized you were asking about Disneyland not Disney World***

He will not need the GAC because of the wheelchair. He can wear a celebrate button and just smile. You can try some decorations to make the chair special also. CMs are very nice to the disabled and especially kids. If you need there are companion bathrooms in the parks and at the nurste's station a place you could take the boot off to dry the inside if that is possible, water rides, lol.

You can rent a wheelchair in park then take it out to the security gate area and meet your son there, just on the inside of the park.

Big hugs and get a disability guide at guest relations or the wheelchair rental place.

i would definitely rent a wheelchair for him. in DL, this means going in the exit for a lot of rides, which you cannot do with more than 6 people (dunno how large your group is). there are also some lines which you have to walk or miss part of the show (haunted mansion comes to mind).

at DCA, all lines are mainstreamed.

walking with a boot is very uncomfortable. as he is only 10, you can check with offsite companies to find out if they have children sized chairs. sitting in a grown up chair all day can stink!

he will be able to do just about everything, so have a great time!
