My husband and I had been planning a Disneyland trip for this year and found out my uncle was planning on going with his granddaughter (4-year-old) so we have changed our plans to go at the same time as them to be able to help my uncle out. We will be there for one day by ourselves but will spend two days with them, May 5th and 6th. This is my first time going to Disneyland with a kid so I was hoping to get just some general suggestions to make things easier for my uncle (he can't walk long distances easily) and some ideas on things we can do to make it a special visit for her. We will be staying in separate hotels.

In case you haven't, be sure to X-post this to the Disneyland board. They are super helpful over there and I'm sure can help give you some ideas of fun things to do while you are there. I suggest also giving a sense of what your group is into (i.e. princesses, pirates, make-overs, star wars, etc.) and that will help you get some more specific suggestions.
