OK am I going insane! have they changed the disneyland web site in the past few months, cause the last time I looked (before these last few weeks) you could see pictures of the room at the different disneyland hotels as well as lots of other pictures but now I can't find them anywhere! am I crazy or are they staring me in the face??

Your not crazy Sam - thry have hidden them

If you go to the Disneyland web site and click on 'places to stay' then on 'hotel overview' on that page on the right hand side there is another menu and click on 'view brochure' and it will load in another site (took ages on my pc:surfweb:) and on the right hand side another menu click on the hotels one and you should find your photos.

Trip advisor is another great place for room photos - have fun planning:yay:

Oh thank you! I wonder why they have done this? Pictures would sell a place better than descriptions. Of course it makes she's if the pictures are no longer as accurate as they were.

I was looking at the Disneyland resorts. They are expensive, but I guess it's like staying at the contemporary at Disney world. I thought we may just stay at one of Disneylands resorts for 1-2 nights.

I wonder if they are worth the money?:surfweb:

I compared prices room for room on the DL site and hoteltravel.com (referred by another lady here who has used it for a different hotel), also compared this website to expedia, hoteltravel.com is coming up $90 odd cheaper for exactly the same dates(comparing to Expedia), maybe have a look.

if they have a 40% off room rate sale then YES::yes::

if not there are good hotels all around the DLR parks that are very competitive.

Unlike WDW where i think you really have to immerse yourself in all things Disney because off it size and convenience of transport at DLR there are some hotels closer to the main gate than the disney hotels :scared1:

Dont get me wrong we had a magical time at the Grand Californian but i would never pay the $600+ a night at full rates.

They're just too expensive for our liking (as much as I would LOVE it) . We are staying at the Park Vue, it is across from the main gate and yes closer walking distance than two of the disney hotels. Unless some super deal comes up between now and then that where we're staying.

Yeah I'd love to have a couple of nights at the GCH overlooking the park, but for the price I could go on a massive shopping spree, and take less time getting into the parks by staying at the Park Vue.

I have never not stayed on property at DL (am going to stay offsite for the first time in December). But I have always loved staying onsite. For us it has always been worth it. We love charging to the room, package deliveries and having magic mornings every time it's on and the GCH access to CA park. We have stayed at GCH a couple of times (for two weeks each time) and at the DL hotel many many times over the years. GCH is lovely, gorgeous but has paper thin walls which is very very annoying if you have people in the rooms beside you. We could hear them checking phone messages next door, we could hear them telling their child to hang their jacket up. We could hear the DH and DW having a little tiff :rotfl: The poor DH felt like a third wheel in their family with nobody considering him in the next day plans :rotfl2:

DL was nice. I think it would be lovely with the new reno. PPH, I haven't stayed at but have been there and it just feels like a basic hotel, 3 star, not that upmarket. I think the prices are ridiculous! But to be honest, I think that $129 for some of those basic motels across the street are ridiculous too, if them were anywhere else they would be $59pn.

I think the DL hotels are over priced for what they are, particularly comparing to them to WDW; but WDW has so many to choose from so they have to be competitive where as DL only has three, so they can charge what they want, they always fill up.

We got a really good deal at GCH, stay 4 nights get 3 free, great deal!

tara2004 - we are planning on staying at the desert inn & suites for 8 nights and then the DLH for 2 nights. the 2 nights at DLH are costing us more than 8 nights at the desert inn & suites, but at least we get to enjoy both worlds. :lovestruc

we love the desert inn & suites, they are right next to the park vue, and directly across from the pedestrian crossing/entrance and take about 3 mins to walk from the room to the disneyland entrance :)
