How is the weather in summer at night at Disneyland? Will we need jackets or will it be warm enough if we are staying until midnight? We are from Vegas and Phoenix, so we are used to warm summer nights.

Depends on when in summer. The further into summer you get, and especially into September and October (because in Southern California, those months act like summer), it will stay warmer into the evenings. But if you will be doing any shows at night, e.g. WOC, bring light jackets or hoodies. Sitting immobile while waiting for parades or shows can really drop your body temperature compared to walking around from ride to ride. And Paradise Bay can get chilly at night no matter what the season. If you plan on being up by the water for WOC or F!, you might want the light jackets for some protection from water spray, too. And it never hurts to have the jackets and hoodies for seat cushions to make the pavement more comfortable for parade viewing. You can always store them in a locker during the day.

I'm in the same boat as you. I am a Las Vegas native, and went to college in Phoenix..therefore I am VERY sensitive to cold weather. Basically anything less than 70 I need a light jacket :)

But generally, June and July the nights are a little cooler. From August through October it can be pretty hot during the day and therefore make the nights warmer. I would for sure bring a light jacket. @theluckyrabbit suggestion of getting a locker is a good idea. If the night is warmer than you thought, then you can store them there. Also be sure to to check the weather. If the lows are showing 70's or 60's, a light jacket is needed. Without the sun that can make the air chilly.

We will be there middle of June

We find we sometimes need light sweaters especially in June for early morning and late nights. It depends if you are sitting outside (waiting for a parade of fireworks?) or on the move (i.e., walking a lot) and thus keeping up your core temps.

Lockers are great places to put such things.

Well, the weather this year so far has been VERY unseasonably cool. Last Friday, I was FREEZING at night in pants and a lightweight hoodie. It was windy, drizzlng, and about 55 degrees.

Come prepared because you never know. The forecast for last Friday was wrong until the day before. Bring at least a lightweight hoodie/jacket and at least one pair of pants.

Yeah I was there Saturday and it was so cold to me!! It was cloudy and in the 60’s the whole day. I saw people in shorts and wondered how they weren’t cold lol

Used to Vegas temps too. I say bring a jacket or sweatshirt, especially in June. Temps are generally more mild in June and also cooler in the morning and night. Plus being in the warm sun all day warms you up and when the sun goes down it feels chilly.

I am a Phoenix resident of 20 years and I want a sweater for California nights in the summer! It's just so much clammier than the desert. I show up wearing a sweatshirt but usually ditch it in a locker early on, then do my souvenir shopping late afternoon when the stores aren't busy. I put the souvenirs in the locker after dinner when I retrieve the jacket. If it's more than just me toting my own stuff, it's worth the $10 to have the flexibility of a locker. One lost sweatshirt replaced at Disneyland (or bought because someone got cold) is $50.

On a related note, I forgot ALL of that during a 4th of July visit to Huntington Beach last year and froze the first night outside. My daughters and I were at Target the next day, buying the only warmup jackets the store had!

Wow thanks for posting this. We are going for first time in mid-June and never would have thought to pack jackets! We are used to hot Louisiana and WDW nights.

Truth. We went at the end of June two years ago, and my DH was ready to cancel the trip because the forecast ten days out showed highs in the triple digits. Even though we live in Phoenix, that's way too hot to be outside. However, by the time our trip rolled around, the hottest forecast was 92, and most days were in the high 80s.

We always bring light sweaters for summer trips. We usually never need to put them on. Our hotel is always close to DLR, so we can leave them in our rooms and grab them as needed.

Long pants in the summer. NEVER! Never even thought about it at DLR except for the two times we were privileged to dine at Club 33. But we always bring a light sweater just in case. If you were to need it, it would be early AM for an EMH/MM when you leave your room at 6:30AM, or after 10PM at night. Nine times out of ten, I would rather be slightly cold for a little while than have to carry around a light sweater just in case. The weather forecast day before will tell you if you might need it, and every once in awhile you hit a cool spell in the summer. We had one trip maybe 8 years ago in July where the high temperatures never rose much above 72-75 degrees over 3 days. Nights were chilly and we needed the light sweaters for sure.

I have been to DLR in August, November, and April. Days are lovely, but early morning and evenings are COLD. And I have lived my whole life in upstate NY. The sun disappears and boom, it's cold. I always have a sweatshirt and light sweater and sometimes I wear both. I usually wear jeans in the evening as well. It was truly shocking to me how very cold southern California gets in the evening! But I guess that's the desert for you.

Just so you know, my absolute coldest weather was one year recently in AUGUST. Uh huh.
